Chapter 2: Attraction
Actually, last Saturday, I almost went into the storeroom. When I used the flashlight on my mobile phone to shine inside the door, I found that the wall inside the warehouse had long been corroded by rain, and there was mold everywhere. The roof is also supported by two large wooden squares under the beams, and it looks like it will collapse if you don't pay attention. The ground was littered with useless waste, and the few vacant places were potholes, with some traces of rainwater.
It stands to reason that when the house is handed over for sale, the workers should also clean up the contents of the warehouse, but it is estimated that they left without even looking at it. Anyway, they don't make much money, so they won't be stupid enough to find more work for themselves.
As far as you can see, there are a lot of things piled up: old scaffolding, wooden planks stained with cement, and bags of cement; One wall was covered with a worn, unrecognizable plastic sheeting; Heaps of broken pipes like mounds and two large boxes of rusty nails, all of which took up almost two-thirds of the storeroom. The walls were mottled and covered with dusty cobwebs. Unexpectedly, on one of the walls in the back, I found a window, but it was dirty. The whole house was filled with the smell of mold and dust.
The bricks and pillars here are all tired of each other, and they look like they are going to fall apart at any time. The whole warehouse is like an old man, waiting for it to collapse with a bang, and then feel happy when it falls. I figured I'd call a forklift and rumble over and be gone.
Probably disturbed by the movement of me opening the door, I heard some sound coming from the corner of the wall, as if some small animal ran away in a panic, and in a trance, it was silent again, and there was a dead silence in the house.
Just when I mustered up the courage to take a step inside.
"Little bunny, what do you want to do?" Mommy's growl was heard, and I didn't have time to put my foot down.
As soon as he turned around, his mother was standing behind her, her eyes widened, and she didn't have the usual Buddhist posture at all. "I told you a long time ago not to run around, especially here, you can't go in until the adults are sure it's safe, don't say you forgot about it."
I had no choice but to move back and look at her reluctantly.
"I ask you, do you remember?" Mom's voice is a little high.
"Remembered." I muttered, as low as a mosquito.
"Then hurry up and stay away from the storeroom door."
I pushed the door open, and it closed with a "bang", and a lot of dust was thrown off in the process.
"Don't let me see you here again, you know?" Mom screamed.
"Oh." I repeated impatiently, "I heard, I know, I know, I know, I am." ”
"Looks like you're just too idle, so you should be allowed to work with your brother. I still have to worry about you getting crushed by the pile of wood. Don't come here again! Mom couldn't help but continue to nag.
"Okay, okay...... Stop rambling, okay? ”
Before my mother could realize that I was counting her, I had already run away, but even so, I was always thinking about this place, as if there was something in the warehouse that attracted me.
