When the forest runs out of water, there will be a mountain, and the mountain has a small mouth, as if there is light. The boat of the toilet (shě) enters from the mouth. At the beginning, it is extremely narrow, and only then can it be passed. Repeat dozens of steps, open (huò) and cheerful. During the Taiyuan period of the Eastern Jin Dynasty, there was a person in Wuling County who made a living by fishing. One day, he rowed along the stream and forgot how far the road was. Suddenly, I came across a peach blossom forest, growing hundreds of steps close to both banks. There are no other trees, and the flowers and plants are fresh and beautiful, and the flowers are falling one after another. The fisherman was amazed. Keep going and want to get to the end of the forest.
At the end of the forest was the source of the stream, and a hill appeared, with a small hole in it, which seemed to be faintly bright. The fisherman then left the boat and entered through the hole. At first it was narrow enough for one person to pass through. After walking a few dozen steps, it suddenly became open and bright. The land is flat and wide, the houses are neat, there are fertile fields, beautiful ponds and mulberry trees and bamboo. The fields and paths are intertwined, and the sounds of chickens and dogs can be heard from each other. There people come and go to farm and work, men and women dress up, completely like the world outside the peach blossom garden, the old people and children, all idle and happy.
When the people in the Peach Blossom Garden saw the fisherman, they were surprised and asked where the fisherman came from. The fisherman answered his question in detail, and he was invited to his house to entertain him by serving wine and chickens and cooking. When the people in the village heard that there was such a person, they all came to inquire about it. They themselves said that their ancestors, in order to escape the war of the Qin period, led their wives, children, and neighbors to this isolated place, and did not go out anymore, so they cut off contact with outsiders.
The people in the Peach Blossom Garden asked what dynasty it was, but they didn't know that there was a Han Dynasty, let alone the Wei Dynasty and the Jin Dynasty. The fisherman told them in detail what he had heard, and the people of the village lamented with regret. The rest of the men invited the fisherman to his house, and they all brought out food and wine to entertain him. After lingering for a few days, the fisherman took his leave and left. The people here said to the fishermen, "The situation here is not worth telling outsiders!" ”
