Chapter 3: Dawn Dreams
Before dawn came, and it was the deepest time of the night, Haige woke up from a very unquiet dream.
After leaving land, he rarely slept soundly, and seemed to dream every night from the moment he first fell asleep. Most of the dreams are difficult to remember, only a few are slightly clear, but they often make him break out in a cold sweat when he recalls them.
Whether the last dream this morning was a nightmare or not, Hai Ge couldn't tell, but vaguely remembered that when he suddenly opened his eyes, he saw a bright white point of light flying from the southeast sky inexplicably, and the point of light hit the shell of his fully enclosed nuclear-powered eco-boat, the "Huo Yiren", which was already a little old, and then got through the only open square porthole.
He exclaimed that he thought it was about to catch fire, and was anxious that the AI service system did not activate the fire protection device in time, but instead of burning through the hull and burrowing into the inner engine compartment of the lower layer, the light spot was bounced out by the thick bulkhead made of Kevlar 49 and titanium alloy composite materials and fell onto the V-shaped steering wheel of the eco-boat.
The brightness of the point of light was originally equivalent to that of a star with an apparent magnitude of -1.5, but when it landed on the steering wheel, it burst into a red white light, and suddenly it was so bright that it was impossible to look at it directly, like fireworks for Mars. Hai Ge was frightened, half-squinting and looking out from between his fingers, until he was sure that the thing should not have the heat of flames, so it would not burn the steering wheel, and the tense nerves relaxed slightly.
However, he couldn't rest easy, something more terrible than the fire was waiting behind, the multi-function radar navigator that was in standby mode, showing that the omnidirectional thruster was working in an automatic control mode, was suddenly activated, and the LCD screen lit up, showing the condition of the sea channel through which the Huoyiren passed at this moment, and at the same time, the female AI's crisp broadcast voice sounded: Master, welcome back, how can I serve you?
Master?!
Isn't the owner of this eco-boat his sea song? Navigation manuals and logbooks are only available electronically and are stored on two black and white encrypted hard drives. The hard drive has been plugged into the full-view operation system in the watchtower on the top of the ship, which can be regarded as the most secret and secure place in the world, except for him and Wedel, the wandering artists who play and sing on Kanter Street in Xijin City all day long, no one can get the password to operate this magical sea ship. However, Weedel is dead, and now he is the only one who can roam freely in the 78-foot-long eco-boat with a draft of 3.5 meters. How could it be so easy for a white spot of light to command the AI system for him?
But the light point actually did it.
Hai Ge didn't hear anyone around him, but the AI enthusiastically repeated the command given by the "master" (which must have been given in a silent way), and quickly prepared for execution: the right full rudder, deflected upwind at a 25-degree angle, and accelerated to the east, reaching the Aleutian Islands, with an estimated sailing time of 3 hours, 42 minutes and 08 seconds.
"What? No, you can't leave the high seas, you can't ......"
Hai Ge struggled and protested, but his throat was as silent as if it were being choked by a ghost's hand, and finally, he broke free from the trap of bizarre dreams and returned to reality.
"Success!"
After waking up, Hai Ge's eyes widened, as if the point of light was still jumping in front of him, so that the fear in the dream spread outside the dream. He yelled habitually, his locked throat being swept open by a strong air current, and a burst of screams echoed through the spacious bedroom, and he expected the white bedroom door with the embossed pattern to be pushed open immediately, and then a smiling face appeared beside the bed......
However, after staring at it for a long time, the half-moon doorknob did not move, like a mocking mouth, telling him that he was the only one left on the ship now.
"Hi~" Hai Ge patted his head vigorously and came to his senses completely. He looked at the ceiling and muttered: "I left half a month ago, and I'm afraid I'm busy now." I had to adapt to the rest of the solo trip as soon as possible. ”
The electronic clock on the bedside table pops up with a silver electronic frame, and only two words appear on the screen: good morning. Hai Ge stretched out his finger and clicked, and the ship, which seemed to be still immersed in sleep, also immediately woke up.
Speakers embedded in metal wall panels play soft morning music, and downstairs from the kitchen comes the sound of an automatic cooker baking toast and making coffee. The entire roof of the enclosed cabin is pitch black, which is a simulated earth sky, and the realism is restored to 100%.
After the music played, the east of the sky seemed to be painted with pink paint, and it lit up. It was the glow that broke through the clouds, and was blown by the gentle morning breeze, until the color was so thick that it drove away all the night, and a small sun as round as a golden pebble lazily climbed up to the horizon......
This eco-boat is a miniature version of the earth world, which not only rotates day and night regularly, but also has obvious distinctions between the four seasons. The ship is in a subtropical monsoon climate with plenty of sunshine and rainfall, and for a year or two in winter, there are snowflakes on the deck......
On this ship, Haige has been floating in the Pacific Ocean for ten years. In the past ten years, he has successfully accompanied nanobots day and night, except for the occasional nostalgia for his friends who have passed away on land, and he does not feel unbearable loneliness.
There are people who are not lonely, but only spiritual needs are satisfied, and as organic human beings, real food is indispensable if they want to live a healthy life. This requirement may seem unattainable for ships with the sea on all sides, but for the Hoiren, which is equipped with a well-established ecological circulation system, crop cultivation is a trivial matter.
From wheat to rice, to fruits and vegetables, the planning of the AI system can be described as comprehensive. Every three months is the harvest season, and the plantation robots are busy for a week, and the warehouse is full of all kinds of food enough for Haige to enjoy the next season.
Of course, meat, eggs and dairy foods are also indispensable, which is not a problem for this eco-boat: every once in a while, when the film-type infrared fairing is rolled up like a sea sail, the AI system will cast an electronic fishing net into the dark and empty sea, and when the net is closed, the thin screen like a cicada's wings becomes heavy, filled with all kinds of marine fish, mammals, and algae rich in dietary fiber.
The days spent on the ship were quiet and fulfilling, except for the successful study of nautical charts and the various things necessary for space travel, Haige spent the rest of his time with his robot companion in a small plantation on the second floor of the ship.
It is true that AI systems can replace humans in sowing, irrigating, fertilizing, and harvesting efficiently, but many times, Haige prefers to experience the joy of working under artificial sunlight and share this fun with success.
