Never measure your present or even your future against your past, even if your past is extraordinary.

When I was in high school, I had a friend who loved to make excuses for my failures, even though I always liked to make excuses at that time.

I still remember his most classic sentence: "I came to our class to be the fifth, and you are twenty or thirty."

Then I was better than him in every subsequent exam.
