Chapter 7 The First Visit
Yirui's home, as the classmate said, is really in good condition. That's what I felt from the moment I walked into the neighborhood where her home was located.
Her neighborhood is very large, and it is not at the same level as the size of the old neighborhood where our family is located. There are a lot of quite luxurious cars parked on the side of the road in the community that I haven't seen much on the road before, and the access locks under each building are used with facial recognition or fingerprints, and the same is true when entering the house, and there is no need to use the keys that I have to stay by my side every day.
"Come in!"
Yirui opened the door of the house, walked in first, and turned on the light.
"By the way, aren't you going to play the piano today?"
"Yes, but what-"
She took slippers from the side and put them at my feet.
"Today, because it was the first day of the holiday, I asked for a day off from the hotel."
I changed into slippers and walked two steps, just the right size.
"If you live alone, won't you feel empty?"
"No, I'm used to it!"
The news revealed by her best friend was indeed correct, and her home was big enough to make the people who lived in it feel empty. Even though she was the only one who lived alone, she still kept such a big house very clean.
"Mom and Dad come back sometimes, but most of the time I'm the owner of this house."
"It's amazing, it's so clean."
By the time I looked closely at the nooks and crannies of her home, she had already changed her school uniform, put on a dress, and then tied an apron - all the previous impressions of her were from when she was wearing a school uniform, and this was the first time I had seen her without a short skirt.
"I don't have many opportunities to cook by myself, so if it's hard to eat, please bear with me!" She was in the kitchen loudly at me on the soft couch in the living room.
"Is it too late to slip back now?"
"No, it's rare to come to a girl's house, will you really just slip away?" She said mischievously, "By the way, I'm going to have some time, you can watch TV and play with your phone for a while." β
"Well, you take your time, if I don't like it, I'll have to ask for compensation."
It would have been impossible to see such a large TV in my own home, so I went up and turned on the TV, fiddled with the remote control that matched the TV, and switched to a news broadcast.
"17:21 Zhang Zhendong: We are already friends, let's chat together!" The phone screen lit up, showing the information that Zhang Zhendong had requested through my friends. I unlocked the screen and entered the social software, intending to have a good chat with Zhang Zhendong.
"Thank you for your hard work today!" Zhang Zhendong opened his mouth first,
This sentence should have been said to Zhang Zhendong, but I don't know why he said this to me first.
"Zhang Zhendong is the one who is, if it weren't for your help, I guess I would not be able to plan well with Yirui like headless flies at night."
"Wow-" Eri-san in the kitchen suddenly shouted.
"What's wrong?"
"It's okay, it's just that the oil splashes a little hard when it's fried, which scares me." She continued to work, raising her voice so that her voice could be changed from the sound of boiling oil jumping.
"If you two have any questions after that, just ask me, and I'm pretty sure about botany. I'm at school these days, and I'm always available if I want to carry out the plan. β
I really hope that he will be as reliable as he described!
Thinking about it this way, I suddenly had a second friend from high school, and I thought it was a little incredible.
"By the way, classmate Zhang Zhendong, we both have superpowers, you know."
"I know, Yirui mentioned it when he explained the general situation to me - since Yirui opened his mouth, I guess he won't deceive me. It just so happens that if you two have supernatural abilities, it will be much faster to carry out our plan. β
Looks like he's a cheerful guy.
"It's doneβ" Yirui quickly cleaned up the kitchen room, brought the tableware, and placed it on the long table in the dining room. I wondered if I should go and help her prepare the dishes, but seeing how diligent and happy she was, I stayed aside and didn't step forward.
If you change to your own home, you usually cook and eat in the kitchen. However, in Yirui's house, the kitchen room and the dining area are separated, and although I don't feel that the dining area is particularly large, I will call it a "dining room" for the time being.
"Sit down!" She lifted her apron and fanned her cheek with her red hand.
"It's so big!" I couldn't help but sigh.
"Let's just sit across from each other." As she spoke, she handed me a pair of chopsticks, a saucer, and a bowl.
Yirui's cooking is home-cooked. However, I can't imagine that today's high school students can make so many kinds of home-cooked food, and I guess Yirui basically cooks for herself at home, except for cooking dinner outside on the days when she plays the piano. There are six dishes on one table, and there are no dishes like "scrambled eggs with tomatoes" that every high school student makes (and can only make) these days.
"Okay, let's go!"
"I'm the master, hey."
"It's so satisfying!" When I finished my meal, I patted my belly comfortably.
Yirui prepared six dishes for the two of us, and usually there are only so many dishes for three or four people in our family, so it is rare for me to eat so many things in one meal, and I look so embarrassed.
"What do you think it tastes like?" Yirui looked at me happily, held her chin with her hand, and asked.
"Not bad," I replied from the bottom of my heart, "it's just that this pan-fried salmon with parsley potatoes is too salty, and this bowl of hot and sour shredded potatoes is a little lighter, and everything else is perfect." β
I've never seen a dish like pan-fried salmon in my own home.
"Are the sour and spicy shredded potatoes still light?" She said with a quick sigh, "I'm all spicy like a dog......"
"Could it be that I have a strong taste?" My mother and grandmother like to cook spicy food, and maybe I have unconsciously become accustomed to the spicy taste.
"Sure enough, I still don't have enough experience...... Hiss ......"
In all fairness, her cooking is generally perfect, and although it is difficult to match her grandmother, who is comparable to the chef, it tastes much better than the so-called "student nutritious meal" in the school cafeteria.
"However, Iris is really powerful! It's on par with my grandmother's cooking skills. Out of encouragement, I said something that was a little bit against my will.
"Is Yujie's grandmother a good cook? Then next time, you must take me to your house to have fun! β
She was praised for smiling naturally and innocently, like a child in kindergarten who was pasted with a big red flower by a teacher. I looked at her, and a very warm feeling came over me.
"Then forget it. My house is much smaller than yours, and I guess I can't even accommodate you. β
"What nonsense, you mean I'm big?"
"No, no ......"
After eating, out of embarrassment, I took the initiative to help Yirui clean up the dishes.
"Oh, thank you."
"I'll wash it too, after all, it's all rubbing your food, and I'm a little embarrassed not to do something."
"Okay."
A closer look at Yirui's classmates revealed that she was so capable and so neat. Since I hadn't washed the dishes much at home, I was covered in water all over the countertop.
"Yujie, move smaller,." She laughed at me, "Look at your clumsy look......"
As a result, Yirui had to put more effort into helping me dry the water that had spilled on the countertop. I looked at the busy figure of Yirui, and I could only stand there and smile embarrassedly.
"It's only six o'clock, why don't you play a game with me?"
"Playing games?"
"yes, my brother bought a lot of gaming equipment before he went to college, and now it's all for me. It's just that it's not fun to play alone, so I haven't played much of a game. β
Yirui really has an older brother, just as the classmates said.
"The room is a bit messy, and the books that I moved back from school have not had time to tidy up, so they are all piled up in the corner of the wall, just don't mind." She said as she opened the little box next to the TV, something I had never seen before.
The first time I walked into a girl's room, her room was very spacious, but it was very different from the girl's room I imagined - the walls, bookcases, cupboards, and bed sheets, none of them were pink (I think all girls would prefer pink), but almost all of them were plain and pure white.
"Wow!" I saw the homework on her desk and couldn't help but exclaim.
"What's wrong?" She was kneeling on the ground and operating the little box.
"It's just been a holiday, and you've already written so much homework?"
"Didn't the teacher say that you have to complete the task according to the plan every day."
It also makes sense, because it is a transitional stage from the second year of high school to the third year of high school, and the next semester will take the examination of the selected subjects [under the new college entrance examination system in Zhejiang Province, 7 subjects other than language, mathematics and others will be selected, and each person can choose 3 subjects, and an exam will be held in the first and second semesters of the third year of high school. So the teachers of each course are mercilessly and frantically arranging the test papers. But I'm going to let myself relax for a few days first, and I probably haven't even opened my bag yet. But where did Yirui get the time to do so many test papers, which makes me unpredictable, how to calculate that she shouldn't have enough time to complete these homework in the past few days.
"You too, it's the last summer vacation before the third year of high school, plan well and work hard."
"Hmmm......"
"Alright, let's have fun."
In my experience, the one she is holding in her hand is supposed to be called a "handle", which can often be heard in the conversations of male students, but because her own conditions do not allow it, it is the first time I have seen the handle with my own eyes. The fast-moving, realistic images in front of me almost made me forget what I was doing, and I didn't even have a decent computer at home, so the realistic artificially created images actually existed.
"Don't be stunned, let's ...... together," she said, staring at the screen, handing me another handle.
Is this what those guys live on a day-to-day basis? If it weren't for Yirui, it would be really out of reach for me......
