Chapter 642
Chapter 643
Leona let out a hot breath as the bandits began to charge, roaring and charging at the Lahorac team, spittle from their mouths on their braided beards. Apex Leona let the heat flow into her bloodstream, feeling the ancient star spirits more fully merge her spirit with her, connecting her senses and giving her otherworldly perception.
The world slowed down in Leona's eyes. She could see the pulsating hearts of each enemy, and she could hear the blood of each enemy roaring like thunder. In her eyes, the bodies of the enemies were shrouded in bloodthirsty red flames. The man with the dragon helmet leaped forward, his greatsword slamming into Leona's shield like a Boulder Titan's fist. Such a violent blow caused the shield to deform in an instant, and at the same time knocked Leona back a full yard. The warriors of Lahorak stepped back with her, and the shield wall remained intact. Leona's shield glowed with a blazing glow, and the man in the dragon helmet felt a gut-wrenching heat beneath his fur cloak. His eyes widened in surprise as he slashed his greatsword back, ready to strike again.
"Strike, backstab!" she could say before the rest of the robbers rushed into their line. The moment the two armies clashed, golden spears shuttled out, and the steel forged in the mountains pierced the flesh and skin, and the robbers who rushed to the first row fell one after another. The robbers behind them trampled on their corpses and continued their onslaught.
The shield wall swayed, but it stood strong. Blades collide, tendons bulge, and the roar of slashing attacks is endless. With a roar of rage, Leona stabbed her sword into the neck of one of the robbers, splitting his face in two from the forehead to the chin. He screamed and retreated, his own blood in his throat. She slammed her shield into the face of the other person next to her, crushing his skull.
The line of Lahorlac's squad suddenly twisted and bent, and it was the man in the dragon helmet who slashed his greatsword again, and the blow slashed at the samurai beside Leona, his shield shattering in half, and his body slashing from his shoulder and neck to his pelvis.
Leona didn't give the man wearing the dragon helmet a chance to make a third cut.
She stabbed her golden sword at him, the rune-engraved blade creating an afterimage of the same shape of fire in the air. The incandescent flames consumed the man wearing the dragon helmet, and his fur and body hair immediately burned, and his armor was imprinted in his flesh like a soldering iron. The terrifying pain caused him to scream, and Leona felt the cosmic power within her body revel in the man's excruciating pain. He staggered back, but for some reason he hadn't taken his breath. His men's attack began to hesitate, and by this time he had fallen to his knees, reduced to a blazing fire.
"Get in!" Leona shouted, and the Lahorak warriors rushed forward in unison. Strong arms wield spears mercilessly. Thrusting, twisting, and pulling out, like a tireless killing machine. The robbers fled with their heads in their hands, dodging the blood-stained spears of the Rahorak warriors, frightened by the death of their leader, and now only thinking about how to escape.
Why these robbers came and how they climbed the mountain, no one knows. They were clearly not here to pay homage to the giant peak, nor did they try to climb to the top. They are warriors, not pilgrims, and if they are left alive, they will simply regroup and continue to kill.
Leona would not allow them to kill, so she plunged her sword into the earth. She enters the depths of her subconscious, evoking the grandeur of the world beyond the Peak. The sun rises from the peak of the Giant God's Peak, and Leona holds out a hand towards the scorching sun.
She got down on one knee and slammed her fist into the ground.
The fire of the sun fell from the sky.
Leona is a Sun Cult Templar infused with the fire of the Sun, guarding the Titan Peak with the Zenith Blade and the Shield of Daybreak. Her skin shimmered with sparks, and the power of the celestial star spirit within her burned through her eyes. Clad in golden armor and carrying a heavy burden of ancient knowledge, Leona brings revelation to some and death to others.
To live at the foot of the towering Giant God Peak is to survive in misery. But there are still many people who are willing to live here, which is a testament to the strength of the human spirit to endure all adversity in order to find the meaning of life and a higher purpose. The Giant God Peak is surrounded by mountains, but the harshness of the mountain environment is far less than the perseverance that flows in the blood of the people living here.
Living on the main peak of the Giant God Peak is fraught with danger. When the mist at the summit shimmers with ice crystals and drifts downward, it brings something else. When the fog clears, it leaves behind a number of strangely shaped otherworldly artifacts, glowing creatures that kill for no apparent reason, and whisper horrific secrets that make mortals lose their minds.
The Rakol tribe survived to the limits of human endurance using only the vegetation of the high mountains and precious livestock, and they also trained their martial arts from an early age to prepare for the end of the world. "Rakoor" means "tribe of the last sun", and their people believe that many worlds have existed before this world, but each time they have been wiped out. The Prophet of the Clan said that if the sun of this world was destroyed again, there would be no next world, so the warriors of this world must be prepared to fight against those who want to extinguish the fire of the sun.
For the Lakore, fighting is an act of devout faith, enshrined in the glow of the sun. All the people of the clan will kill mercilessly and ruthlessly, and Leona is no exception. She has been practicing martial arts since she was a toddler, and she has easily mastered the skills of sword and shield fighting. She is fascinated by the fog at the summit and often imagines what is hidden on the other side of the fog. But these imaginations did not stop her from confronting the ferocious beasts, terrifying spirits, and eyeless freaks that came with the fog at the top of the mountain.
She followed the teachings of her elders and ruthlessly slain these monsters, until one day, young Leona met a boy with golden skin, horns, and batwings at the foot of the mountain. He doesn't speak human language, but apparently he is disoriented and panicked. His skin shimmered softly, and though Leona had known all she had since she was a child telling her to kill her, she couldn't kill someone so helpless. So, she led the boy to the path to the summit and watched him walk into a ray of sunlight and disappear.
When she returned to the Lakore community, she found herself accused of blaspheming her duty to the sun. A boy named Atrius saw her return a peak monster safely without killing it.
