【Postscript】A book is not written in the Tang Dynasty
December 1, 2015 - August 25, 2019
It's been four years, and the Tang Dynasty is finally over.
Let's just talk.
The idea of writing a Tang Dynasty text has been there since high school, when an author wrote a work, and the male protagonist was also San Lang, and it turned out to be a book, and then it was ...... Gone?! I guess her heroine prototype should be Concubine Wu Hui, in terms of writing style, it is a work that is more suitable for teenagers to read. At that time, I also sent a private message to the author, saying that her writing was not in line with history, and she was really gentle and sent a blog post to reply to me very solemnly.
At that time, I looked up to the author who could publish the book (and now it is), and the opinions were also because I liked it, the mentality of a little fan, and then I wrote the first word for that work, and it was planned by a friend to be a cover song, and it was also flopped by the author, and I was super happy - but now I think back on it and want to beat myself up. (Apologies to the authors who have been harassed by me in the past T_T)
There is also an author named Bobo, the one who wrote "Silk and Green Silk", she wrote an essay called "Night Singing in the Tang Dynasty" for a while, which wrote about the story that happened in the context of the era when Wu Zetian continued to ascend the throne of the empress, and the result was also ...... Eunuchs.
Maybe it was from that time that I had a shadow in my heart, so when I wrote by myself, even if I broke off for a long time, I would never be a eunuch → _ →
I really didn't want to use Saburo as the male protagonist at first, because I felt that there were too many people who had written about it. The idea of the Tang Dynasty originated in the summer of 2015, less than a year after the end of my last Three Kingdoms ancient Chinese essay (don't ask, asking is black history, not well written), I just said in the afterword that I will not touch the historical theme in the short term because it is too much of a headache, and as a result, I may be looking for a job, and I re-watched Mr. Mengman's Tang Xuanzong series of 100 pulpits, and then the inspiration was springing, and the impulse was out of control - obviously I had read it twice before.
It can only be said that even if the reputation is mixed, Saburo's charm is too great, and he hates to sing for a long time, and leaves it as a story to write in the Spring and Autumn Period.
As for why the heroine was established, it was written in the testimonials on the shelf, so I won't repeat it here.
In the past two years, more than one editor in charge has persuaded me (I →_→), either it's over, or I should open a new article quickly, but in the end I still persevered. Because the meaning of the Tang Dynasty is really unusual for me. I was full of the urge to write before the article, this is the first time in my life, and after many years, I must finish it, let it have a beginning and an end, I did it~
In four years, I took a two-year break. (I heard that when I read the text, I didn't feel any traces of the break, is it true?) During those two years, I fell in love, got married, and entered a new stage in my life, and it seemed that my personality had lost some sharpness, and I was becoming more mature and gentle. Time has polished me, and it has also given Shengtang a new life.
When the first shift was broken, it was before the princess Taiping's bento was sent. I racked my brains and tried my best, and I didn't think of a single one that satisfied me (trying to get everyone's key person bento right, which is my obsessive-compulsive disorder), until two years later.
Of course, it is even more wrong, but I still want to say that if there is no growth and precipitation in these two years, there will be no current Tang Dynasty.
In fact, many good ideas burst out after two years (thanks to Nalan Langyue and Thousands of Miles of Mountains, Rivers and Rivers, it's really easy to get inspired by chatting with them, and the motivation for the last few months also comes from this), which I didn't think about at all two years ago. It seems that my brain hole has expanded, and Wen has also grown. Little by little, it got rid of the childishness and secondary two that I had not taken off at that time, simplified the complex, and finally grew up as the characters grew older. (I've always felt that Volume 4 was written more humanly...... )
The outline of the Tang Dynasty is actually very simple, only a few thousand words, and it was 1.23 million words at the end, but I was not surprised at all. This essay is really too complicated and difficult to write, and it is normal to write a few words in the outline into hundreds of thousands of words. When things go well, I feel like I'm a genius who likes to eat, but more often, especially when I'm in Carvin, I feel like I'm worthless, my pen and vocabulary are seriously lacking, and I even worry that I'm going to spoil the idea and the subject.
Now that it's finally over, and the torture has finally come to an end, I'll leave it to anyone to judge my merits and demerits.
There are some characters in the Tang Dynasty that are not in the outline, and they suddenly broke into my pen in the process of writing, strong and irresistible, such as Anle Princess Li Bao'er, Lu Yunniang and Mao Ying. I really love people like this, they don't have a pre-set intention, they are the product of real inspiration, and they can't be found.
But at the same time, I still feel more sorry for the characters I painstakingly designed, such as Ah Yuan, Shangguan Wan'er, Queen Wang, Concubine Wu Hui, Yang Guifei and the white-headed palace maid. First, I really spent a lot of brain cells, and secondly, I can't help but pay more respect and love for female characters.
Among the male characters, in addition to San Lang, Emperor Jean and Mao Ying, my favorites are Zhang Jiuling and Li Linfu (the others are not disliked, I like everything I wrote, and the desire to survive is super strong), only the two of them, I deliberately wrote about the career trajectory in more detail. The people I wrote about are different from the historical records, in which they dislike each other and are incompatible.
Even villains such as An Lushan, Yang Guozhong, Li Fuguo, and Bian Lingcheng, I also gave them some shining points. I don't want to rehabilitate them, but I hope they can be as fresh and flesh as other characters I write with my heart. Personally, I have always believed that there are no villains in historical figures, only friends or enemies who are siloed and have different philosophies.
Sheng Tang originally wanted to call it "Sheng Tang Night Singing", thanks to his friend Ernuan's one-word teacher, so that Sheng Tang has his own title. Thanks to Su Jue, A Ci, Zhen Ge, A Jing, Langyue, Sancan and Shanhe and other friends, or the place where the outline was born, or the acquaintance and support when writing.
I've told my friends more than once that this is probably the best essay I've ever written. From the idea to the theme, from the characters to the story, although there are many shortcomings and regrets in the text, I still love it very much.
I love Ayuan, I love Saburo, and I love all the people I write.
I hope you enjoy it.
