Chapter 6: Who is sleepwalking?

When I returned to my room from the bathroom, I saw Zou Jian wiping down his huge travel bag.

In the dim light, he took out his fiancée's clothes, opened them one by one, folded them one by one, and put them in his travel bag one by one. He was very focused, and his eyes were full of affection and sadness. Seeing me approach, he put an embarrassed smile on his face and said, "It's all my fiancée's stuff." ”

"Do you know her unit?" I asked casually.

"Say I work for a real estate company." He smiled reluctantly.

"Oh, that's good." I say.

He shook his head.

I felt a little strange and asked, "What's wrong?" ”

He hesitated for a moment and said, "I've been looking for a few days...... Not that company. ”

I looked at him quizzically.

She ...... I'm afraid you're lying to me," he said, looking a little gloomy.

"How do you say that?" I asked.

He raised his head and said coldly, "She's ...... A nightclub ...... he couldn't go any longer, staring at the gray floor.

"Huh?" I asked, "You found it?" ”

He lowered his eyelids and said, "I'm so stupid, how could I believe she works for a real estate company?" ”

"She doesn't want to see you?" I asked.

He nodded, let out a long sigh, and said, "With a big sum." Suddenly, he stood up and said to me through gritted teeth, "I wish I strangled her!" I really want to strangle her! ”

"Don't be impulsive, brother." I persuaded, "Where is there no grass at the end of the world...... You are not bad, the township officials are also talents, why worry about not being able to get a wife? I comforted him.

He didn't speak, and sat on the edge of the bed with a dejected expression.

The room fell silent, the quiet of crickets occasionally pierced. I looked out the window, and beyond the courtyard wall, there was the night sky of the island city. There are neon lights and honey in the air. I looked at my watch, and it was late at night. "Sleep, sleep, wake up and forget everything." I said to him.

That night, he tossed and turned in bed - poor plank bed was so much that he tossed and turned. I was so sleepy that I fell asleep in a daze.

I don't know how long I slept, but I was woken up by the smell of smoke. When I opened my eyes, I saw Zou Jian naked with his head tilted on the edge of the bed. At the foot of the bed was a small tin box, stuffed with a large amount of cigarette butts.

There was a ** big moon hanging outside the window, and the moonlight poured in through the window. The night breeze blows on the banyan tree, and the leaves rustle. Suddenly, I heard a plop, and when I turned my head, I saw that Zou Jian, who was naked, had rolled under the bed. I was about to wake him up, but he stood on the ground like a stake that was shiny. Immediately, he bent down and picked up the huge travel bag next to the bed and threw it on the bed. Then he unchained and, as in the evening, took out the women's clothes, opened them one by one, folded them one by one, and put them into the bag one by one......

"Give it back to her?" I asked.

Zou Jian did not answer.

"Give it back to her?" I asked again.

He still didn't answer me, just focused on collecting the clothes. To my surprise, he stuffed his own clothes hanging from the bedside into his travel bag. I thought, is this kid going home?

He finished collecting it, fastened it, and then, naked, lifted his duffel bag and went out—

I was so frightened that I collapsed in bed, unable to move. I called out to him, and he ignored me. I struggled to get out of bed, put on my clothes, and chased after him. He floated like the wind in front of me, and I couldn't catch up anyway. I watched him float out of the garden and into the street......

There is no one on the street, the street lamps are bright, and the coconut shadows on the roadside are clear. I watched him float across the street, over the railing, into another alley, across another side street, and finally, toward the beach......

I always lagged behind him.

It was a silvery sandy beach, and the sea shimmered in the distance under the bright moonlight.

I saw him stop on the beach.

He put the duffel bag down, crouched down, pulled the chain, pulled the clothes out of the bag one by one, shook them off one by one, and stacked them one by one.

I saw him pull the lighter out of his duffel bag and snap it, igniting his clothes.

I saw the blue wind blowing from the sea, and the red flames soared high.

I saw Zou Jian's body in the moonlight, his eyes glazed and hollow, his lips closed in a straight line......

I watched in horror at what was happening in front of me.

After Zou Jian burned all his clothes, he returned the same way, walked into the room, and fell asleep soundly, snoring like thunder.

It wasn't until the evening of the next day that he woke up.

I said, "You slept all day." ”

He didn't speak, he stood naked in front of the bed, rubbing his temples vigorously with his hands. "Why am I not dressed?" He seemed to be talking to himself, and he seemed to be asking me. Then, start looking for clothes. "Do you see my clothes?" He asked me, "Where's my travel bag?" ”

"I see it." I say.

"Where?" He glared at me.

"You burned it." I say.

"No kidding, tell me, where are you hiding?" He thought I was hiding his clothes and travel bag.

"You really burned it." I said it seriously.

He froze for a moment, then ignored me and continued to search around the room.

I said, "Don't look for it, you burned it yourself." ”

He stared at me and said, "How is that possible?" I've put it here—" He gestured to the side of the bed.

I said, "Yes, you did put it there, but you took it to the beach last night and burned it." ”

This time he turned his head and stared at me deadly—I felt that there was suspicion, scrutiny, contempt, and warning in his gaze. Then, word for word, he said to me, "Why didn't you say that the thief came last night?" You see this window and this door lock are broken, right? ”

This makes me a little indignant and sad. "Again, you really burned them!"

He walked around the room without saying a word. After a while, he turned around and said to me coldly, "Well, I burned it last night." But you'll have to come with me to the police station. ”

I almost gave him a seed.

I angrily told him, "If you must think so, then let's go and see the scene before we go to the police station." ”

I threw him a set of my clothes, and he put them on without excuse, and followed me straight to the beach.

The air was filled with the salty smell of seawater, and the sea breeze was unhurriedly blowing a pile of ash on the beach. I bent down to peel off the black ash on it, pointed to some of the remaining corners, skirts, and socks in the ashes and said, "You fucking see what is going on!" ”

Zou Jian was stunned at first, then sad, and finally angry. He stood up, turned around, faced the sea, and wailed like a pig on the verge of slaughter: "Island City—Lao Tzu hates you!" ”

Then, he turned his head to me, gritted his teeth, and said, "I'm not going back!" Do you believe it? Island City has robbed me of one woman, and I'm going to let me pay back a hundred women! ”

I sneered and replied, "Believe in your uncle!" ”

……

We stood under the old banyan tree, time seemed to be heavy and stagnant, "so many years...... Time is really a pig-killing knife! Zou Jian sighed.

"Remember that sleepwalking?" I asked Zou Jian.

"What sleepwalking?" Zou Jian looked at me in confusion.

"You're playing stupid." I sneered.

"What the hell are you talking about!" Zou Jian replied disappreciatively.

I was adamant about saying he had that dream.

Zou Jian insisted that he had not had that dream. His small eyes narrowed into a line flashed suspiciously, and he asked me, "Are you sleepwalking?" ”

How many years have passed, things are right and wrong, and now none of us can tell who is sleepwalking.
