Fish totem
Now, I'm quietly swimming in the Baiyangdian Museum. Or rather, I just swim quietly in the glass window. I looked at the tourists swimming in front of me. They pointed at me and even took pictures and videos. I'm a little annoyed. I wish a carp was flying over the heads of these people and out of this new museum. But glass and stone imprisoned me. I'm actually swimming with memories of thousands of years.
Memory is a passage from the modern to the ancient. I used to swim back and forth in this passage. In the distant memory, there is no stone, no glass, and no modern buildings, only a field full of water and grass, and the alluvial fans of the ancient Yellow River. Let me start with the wilderness and alluvial fans.
At that time, I was a young white carp. My companions red carp and yellow carp and I live in this wild area full of aquatic plants. The lake water is clear, the aquatic plants are abundant, and the air is delicate, moist and fragrant. The gulls sang on the green island, and their voices shook the water. We swam around in this song without being surprised. I sometimes have the audacity to dry my body on the edge of the island. A red-billed black swan slowly approached me, its long beak pecking at my white scales, and my body was very comfortable.
I hurriedly jumped into the water when I heard the footsteps of Yu Shui Yu Mountain. The footsteps were hurried and noisy. At first it was one or two people, then it was a group of people. The dirty animal skins, the messy long hair, and the sticks and stone tools they held high in their hands were reflected on the side of the water. It's a clan. They are the descendants of the cave people on the top of the mountain. They got lost on a long journey in search of food. By accident they discovered the waters. The female leader named Yu Shui pulled the shell necklace around her neck and scattered it at once. Her voice bloomed like a shell and a wildflower in the water, Feishan, we have found the way, this is our way in the future!
Needless to say? This is also our future home. The man called Yu Shan had already jumped into the water. His clothes flew to the shore like two lotus leaves, and his naked and stout body was like a black stone that smashed into the water and mottled it with pain. Behind him were more rocks thrown at him. Male stones, and female stones. All the stones of a clan. They all sank to the bottom of the water and resurfaced. They became black fish, they became yellow croaker, they became white fish. And the lake where they bathed had become muddy and filthy. Yu Shan washed his body, washed his hair, went ashore, brought a sharpened wooden stick, plunged into the water, and jumped out again. There was a carp screaming in pain stuck in the stick. Yu Shan sent the fish to the hands of Yu Shui, who was using a bone needle, and then touched Yu Shui's face, and another fierce man plunged into the water. The rest of the men did the same, and they all had my kind on their sticks. I escaped by hiding in a crack in a rock in the deep water.
I saw them go up to the island and light piles and piles of cattails. The fish were turned into food in the fire and on sticks. Others, who couldn't wait, simply sent the live fish directly into their mouths. Fish scales, fish intestines, and fish maw are very unsightly glued to their bloody mouths. They ate the fish, gained strength, and attacked the waterfowl again. Wild ducks, pheasants, and herons flew half the sky. They destroyed the nest and made the eggs food for them. Even the slow-moving birds did not escape their grasp. Another pile of fires broke out, and the fish's best friend, the bird, scorched its wings. The red-billed black swan dragged the injured leg that had been hit, and with a gloomy wail, it rushed into the sky and disappeared into the vast expanse of the distant sky......
This body of water has truly become the home of this clan. They built huts, built water villages, gave birth to children, and lived the sun and the moon. And we had to move to deep water. On the way, the other fish cursed the demons. But I'm thinking about the fact that humans and us fish are not natural predators, and we don't have to feed on us. We should be good neighbors, and we should create a better way to live.
So, I resolutely returned to our pristine waters. I jumped on that island. Strangely, when I set foot on the island, I turned into a human being. I found Yushui. She was collecting wild fruits on the island, and she was carrying a red and tender girl on her shoulder. Yushan lay on a pile of weeds and chewed on the grass roots. The birds have all flown away, and the hunting tools of Yushan are already covered with moss. I gestured to the water and struggled to talk about my train of thought. I said, "You must learn to plant, you must plant millet and millet." I said, "You have to learn how to breed, you have to raise pigs, you have to raise dogs, you have to raise cattle." And I said, Learn how to make, and make ploughs, and pestles. I said, "Learn how to weave, and weave cloth, and weave clothes." I also said that you should not only see this small island, but also go all over the wilderness and the entire alluvial fan plain. Yu Shui understood what I said, she threw the girl to Yu Shan, ran away with her bare feet and the ** room. She blew a stone whistle. After a while, the members of the entire water village gathered here.
You still want me to say it again. I'm not going to say that. I ran to the edge of the island and jumped into the water. I became a white carp again.
Later, Yu Shui moved away with her clan. Moved to the shore. They did as I said. They learned to plant, they learned to breed, they learned to make, they learned to weave. Later, several more clans came. They built tribes. Yu Shui made Yu Shan the tribal chief. Later, they built the earliest city of Hun in this water.
The fish and birds returned to our country. After so much pain, we have regained our former peace.
But I can't calm down anymore. I want to see Chaos City. I want to tell them that the city will expand, it will change, and it will even perish. So I jumped to the ground again. I found Yushan in the city. I wasn't so lucky this time, and I didn't let me go back to Zeguo. They seized me and enshrined me in the square in the center of the tribe. From then on, they no longer ate fish. I became their totem.
As I expected. That tribal city has sunk and uplifted several times, perished and grown several times, and finally became the modern city you see. I have long been a fish fossil, and after being unearthed for tens of millions of years, I was sent to the Baiyangdian Museum as a treasure.
