Chapter 1: The True Taoist Priest

Zhang Xiaoxi's matter was solved, but Lin Ping himself was in trouble.

Go to bed.

It's not that I can't sleep, it's that every time I fall asleep, I always have a dream, that strange nightmare.

At first, I didn't think it was because I was too nervous, but Zhu Lian said the same. But he had nightmares for more than a month, and Lin Ping himself felt something abnormal, so he decided to put other things aside and concentrate on finding a way to get rid of the nightmare.

Thinking of the bed in Xiufengguan, he called Daoist Qian and asked Daoist Qian to sell the bed to him, but Daoist Qian just didn't sell it. said: If Lin Ping goes to Zhuyang City, he can go to Xiufeng Temple to live temporarily.

I was really forced by the nightmare to have no choice, and I lived in Xiufeng for a week, and I went to bed early and got up early.

But it's not a way to go on like this, and you still have to go back to Xihai City after all.

Thinking of the relationship between this bed and his nightmare, Lin Ping asked Daoist Qian about the origin of this bed.

At first, Daoist Qian said perfunctorily that it was an old antique left by the ancestor, and he was a little old, and he didn't know what was going on with the Taiji diagram above.

Later, Lin Ping used his secret eye to scan every corner of the shelf bed for a week, saw the appearance of Daoist Qian, and described the appearance of Daoist Qian in detail. At that time, Daoist Qian was frightened and told some Taoist secrets and real Taoists.

Taoist priest, in the traditional sense, refers to Taoist disciples, who have worshiped the Sanqing to inherit the Taoist inheritance and have the Taoist law name, even if they have entered the Tao.

But Daoist Qian said that this is not a Taoist, the real Taoist priest has been extinct as early as the Qin and Han dynasties. And now the so-called Taoist priests are just mortals who have inherited some Taoist concepts, and they have not mastered the essence of Taoism, let alone how to look at the heavens and the underworld.

How can you tell if a person is a real Taoist?

Daoist Qian said to Lin Ping like this:

A true Taoist is able to see a special world, which can be heaven or the underworld (that is, hell), or any place. According to their own cultivation, what they see is also different. Those who are superficial can only see a corner, while those who are advanced can see the whole, but it is never possible to see heaven and hell at the same time, because the two are incompatible.

Qian Daoshi's first teacher, that is, the former master of Xiufeng Guan's "Qianyun" Taoist master, is the last real Taoist priest, who once intended to accept Qian Taoist as an apprentice, let Qian Taoist sleep on that shelf bed for a year, every time he woke up, he would always ask Qian Taoist if he had seen anything or dreamed of something, and Qian Daoist's answer was "nothing", and he had never even dreamed.

Before he died, Daoist Qianyun was still heartbroken, regretting that the Taoist inheritance could not be passed on, and told Daoist Qian to find someone who could dream while lying in bed, no matter what he saw. As long as you can see it, you will entrust the beautiful view to him.

Daoist Qian remembered the last words of Taoist Master Qianyun for many years, there were countless people who came to worship God, rested on that bed, never dreamed or saw a special scene, after a long time, Daoist Qian slowly forgot about this matter, and did not know what kind of secret was hidden in that Taiji frame bed.

When Lin Ping vividly described the appearance of Daoist Qianyun to Daoist Qian, Daoist Qian suddenly remembered Daoist Qianyun's last words, and asked Lin Ping if he saw it in a dream and if Daoist Qianyun had something to entrust. Lin Ping didn't want to expose the secret of the secret eye, so he shook his head and said that he was making it up casually.

Daoist Qian naturally didn't believe it, but Lin Ping didn't want to say it, so he didn't ask.

Instead, he told Lin Ping in detail about the history of Xiufeng Temple, and still thought that Lin Ping was the destined person entrusted by the Taoist Master of Qianyun on his deathbed, hoping that one day Lin Ping could inherit Xiufeng Concept and pass on the real Taoist priest.

As for the shelf bed, Daoist Qian himself couldn't say clearly.

He also told Lin Ping some historical stories, which were told to him by Qianyun Dao before his death.

To Lin Ping's ears, these stories seem like historical anecdotes and are a bit fantastical.

The Taoist tradition is unknown, but it does not start with Li Er.

Li Er is known as the founder of the Taoist school, simply because he inherited the ideas of the Taoist school, but as for the Taoist magical ability to see the heavens and the earth, there is another branch.

Tracing back to the earliest Taoist priests of Taoism, we have to trace back to Cangjie in the Yanhuang period.

All historical materials record that Cangjie is a word-making saint, and it is precisely because of the existence of Cangjie that the source of cultural records has been opened, and many myths and stories of the Yanhuang period have also been recorded.

Among them, there is a well-known one in the world: the Yellow Emperor ascended to heaven by dragon.

Legend has it that the Yellow Emperor invented the tripod, and when the god tripod was cast, the golden dragon descended from the sky to invite the Yellow Emperor to ascend to the fairy world and rank in the immortal class.

But in this story told by Qianyun Daoist, this is not the case:

After the Yellow Emperor defeated Chiyou, his body became ill.

In ancient times, illness could kill people, and at that time, medicine was not yet developed, and a small cold could kill a strong man, not to mention the leader of the Yellow Emperor, who led the tribe to fight all the year round, had countless scars on his body, and long-term accumulation naturally caused serious illness.

On the day of the Yellow Emperor's serious illness and death, Cangjie, who was the left historian of the Yellow Emperor, was grief-stricken, opened the "Eye of Heaven" with tears and blood, and saw the Yellow Emperor ascend to heaven by a golden dragon, so he recorded this paragraph and recited it to this day. In the following time, Cangjie could often see some bizarre scenes, which were recorded one by one with words or patterns.

Later generations then had the earliest themes and sources of mythological stories, and because Cangjie opened the "eye of heaven", he could see things that ordinary people could not see, and the people of the world naturally did not believe it. But Cangjie is also a historian, and the information he recorded is supreme authoritative, and he praises the great achievements of the Yellow Emperor, even if it is exaggerated, it is still preserved.

As for Cangjie's "eye in the sky"?

According to the oral biography of the Taoist Master of Qianyun and his ancestors over the ages, it is indeed true. However, this kind of "heavenly eye" is not a godsend, and it can be opened by borrowing some special things, but everyone opens it in a different way, and the objects they see are different.

Among them is a very famous figure: Zhou Gong Zhou Gongdan, that is, the author of the book "Zhou Gong Interprets Dreams".

Zhou Gongdan is the fourth son of Ji Chang, King Wen of Zhou Dynasty in the Zhou Dynasty, and the Ji family is a descendant of the Yellow Emperor. It was passed on to Ji Chang's generation, and Ji Chang was passed on to Zhou Gongdan, and he became the person who inherited the "eye of the sky". He can dream of everything, whether he has seen it or not, and it can be presented in his dreams. And his so-called dreams, in fact, are just what he sees with his "heavenly eyes".

Until the fall of the Zhou Dynasty, the inheritance of "Tianyan" gradually declined, and the inheritance of "Tianyan" and Taoism was also divided into two veins.

In the first vein, Li Er held books such as "Zhou Yi" and "Zhou Gong's Dream Interpretation", which carried forward the Taoist concept and established and improved the entire Taoist system. Among them, the Taoist is only dream interpretation and divination, and the Taoist health and martial arts are all added by later generations to enrich the Taoist culture.

The other vein is that the Qianyun Daoist inherited the method of opening the "Heavenly Eye", and the inheritor of the Heavenly Eye has also derived a series of so-called "Taoist methods" such as exorcism and demon suppression, ghost killing and resurrection, as for whether these spells really exist? Qianyun Dao said before his death that among the countless anecdotes passed down by the ancestor, there has never been a theory of ghosts and gods. In other words, the "Heavenly Eye" inheritance does not believe in the theory that there are ghosts and gods in the world.

And the one who inherited the Taoist concept believes in ghosts, gods and demons.

The former is easy to pass on, while the latter is quite difficult.

It varies from person to person, and each generation of inheritors needs different things to open the "Sky Eye", and the method of opening it is mostly a coincidence. Although there is the help of the inheritance master, there are fewer and fewer objects that may help open the eye of the sky, such as the Taiji diagram shelf bed in the house.

As for how to open the "Sky Eye"? Qian Daoist said that he didn't know, and Qianyun Dao didn't say it in detail before his death, but if someone was lying on that shelf bed and could dream of the changes of all things, the yin and yang of heaven and earth, let this person inherit the Xiufeng view.

In the end, Daoist Qian sighed: "The real Taoist priest is about to become extinct." ”
