436. Desperate escape

Petru's body was so heavy that Mrs. Larry was overwhelmed. She adjusted her breathing a little, gently stroked Petru's back, and said:

"Listen, Petru, time is running out. Don't move, listen to meβ€”

I've been dragged around by them for the past few days, and I've probably figured out some of the situation. This tribe of savages has a very primitive social structure, the old man is their patriarch, and he is also the sorcerer responsible for communicating with the gods, and the scepter in his hand symbolizes the power of the gods. Their population is sparse and therefore regards sex and procreation as the most sacred thing.

They grow some crops, just in the valley behind, but these crops can't feed their entire population, so they also go out fishing and hunting.

Every morning at dawn, they would go out hunting in a group, usually ten or twelve. There are no large animals on the island, and they can only hunt some birds and rats. More people went out fishing, probably more than half men and half women. Normally, they would come back at dusk, but there were also people who caught big fish and came back at noon.

So, the morning is the emptiest time in the whole tribe. If you want to escape, you have to take advantage of this opportunity.

Today is a sunny day, but you see in the sky, there are no stars and no moon, indicating that there may be a special spatial structure here. I don't know much about this, but I've heard about it.

But in the middle of the night I could hear the sound of the tide in the distance, indicating that the moon's gravitational pull was acting here. Judging by the sound, the direction of the beach should be the opposite of the window of the room where I was being held, and it wasn't far from here.

There was a large house on the right side of the courtyard, which was the house of their patriarch, but he lived here only at night, and during the day he was usually on the high ground outside the main entrance of the courtyard, where he could see the growth of the crops and the people returning from hunting.

Don't go there when you run away. The old man is a bit of an evil man, and seems to be able to control people's consciousness, I guess it has something to do with the scepter in his hand.

You can go around from the left side of the courtyard, where there is an altar where they worship the gods. There may be women praying there, you have to be careful.

After passing through the altar, you can see a waterfall flowing upwards in the distance. I guess that's probably a visual error, indicating that no matter how low the terrain is, it can be seen by the wildlings standing here. So, you can't go in that direction. You should walk towards the waterfall, at an angle of about 60 degrees. Although I don't know what is there, it will be relatively safe. Because if the principle of the counter-current waterfall is the same as I guessed, then the refraction of light will attract people's eyes like a black hole, and the human eye and brain will automatically ignore what is on either side of it. ”

When Mrs. Larry said this, she seemed to have exhausted her strength, and her voice became quieter and quieter, "Petru...... Do you understand? Petru ......"

Petru's tears ran down Mrs. Larry's cheeks, wetting a large patch of dead grass.

He could barely remember what had happened next, and his mind was full of what Mrs. Larry had said. At the end of the bonfire, he saw his wife being led by them into the big house of the savage patriarch.

……

The voice next door was still ringing, and Petru knew that the brute guarding him was now venting his bestial desires on Lady Larry.

The military dagger was thrown on the ground in the doorway.

Petru tried to twist his body to break free. But the vine that bound him was naturally thorny, and the slightest movement would pierce it.

The vines were tied so tightly that he couldn't break free or spread his legs, but luckily there were no pillars or anything in the room, he was just tied up and thrown in the corner.

He simply lay down and rolled on the ground. The thorns dug into the flesh, and he grinned in pain.

Gritting his teeth and rolling to the door, he grabbed the dagger with his hand tied behind his back, cutting through the vines.

Before he had time to clean the thorns that were still in his flesh, he took the knife in his backhand and went to the room where Mrs. Larry was being held.

There was no one in the courtyard, and Petru pushed open the hidden door and dodged in.

The wild man was lying on top of Mrs. Larry, like a pig eating it. Mrs. Larry was expressionless, a moan of pain emanating from her throat. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Petru, who gave her a food signal to keep quiet, and then crept behind the wildling.

It was probably at the critical moment that the wild man's movements suddenly accelerated, and he was about to let out a hearty roar when he was suddenly covered by a large hand stretched out behind him. Before he could figure out what was going on, the sharp blade had already severed his carotid artery and throat. Because the blade was so sharp, blood gushed out of the wound until he fell to the ground.

"Let's go, ma'am!" Petru said as he kicked the body aside.

"You may succeed if you run away alone, but it will be a burden to take me with you." Mrs. Larry looked calm, "Let's go!" You kill someone, and they won't let you go again! ”

"No, I have to take you with me! Otherwise my conscience will be condemned for the rest of my life. Petrux made up his mind and helped his wife up, "I used to think that my conscience had been eaten by dogs, and before last night, my only thought was to get Lavier out of prison, and shove grenades into the ** of politicians who don't make me feel better, and let their ass bloom." For so many years, I was like a thoughtless walking corpse, killing people and fleeing without stopping. To be honest, I'm tired of it! It's youβ€”you brought me back to life last night, and my blood is hot again! ”

Mrs. Larry smiled with relief, but her legs could not support the weight of her body, and she had only taken a small step before she collapsed in agony.

"Leave me alone, let's go!" She said weakly.

Petru saw that her lower body was swollen and her thighs were covered in blood. He squatted down, took Madame's arms, put her on his back, and said firmly, "Don't worry, we can get out!" ”

He picked up Mrs. Larry on his back, put the dagger in his mouth, and put his hands behind his back to support Madame's thighs, afraid to spread her legs too far apart for fear of her pain.

The yard was quiet, and the wild people had probably gone out to work.

Petru watched the door for a while, making sure no one was looking, and then walked out.

Mrs. Larry no longer insisted on staying, and tightened her grip on the neck of the landlord, Petru, and said, "Go to the left...... Yes, there's a fence there...... yes, just get out of here......"

The tribe of the Savages was larger than he had imagined, with hundreds of houses scattered throughout the valley, and Lady Larry estimated their population to be between four and six hundred. Most of them had gone out at the moment, and less than a third of the wild people were left in the tribe, and there were quite a few old people and children among them.

But Petru didn't dare to be careless, his only weapon now was a knife, and he was carrying a man on his back. He heeded Mrs. Larry's prompts, carefully avoiding possible dangers, and walked towards the outskirts of the savage village.

On one side of the village is a large river, and on the other side is an open flat land, where many crops are planted in a haphazard manner, but they do not grow very well, most of them are sparse, except for one plant that looks like sugar cane. Next to the sugar cane field is a stone terrace that looks like a half-built pyramid.

Lady Larry said that it was the altar where the savages worshipped the gods. Behind the altar there is a large wasteland full of rubble, most likely the burial place of their generation.
