Volume 1 Memoirs Chapter 8 The Lamp That Never Goes Out
After that, I was unconscious again. During this time, I received a strong concussion in my body, and I was woken up by a small shock. And just now, I don't feel the presence of my hands and feet. And the chest cavity is hot, which makes the throat hot, and it is very itchy, and I always want to vomit something.
As a result, I did vomit something, and I felt like a stream of liquid. At that time, I thought I had vomited and vomited what I had eaten in the morning. But then I realized that it was blood.
And by this moment, I was already in the water, and I could feel that I was moving with the current. But it didn't last long before I fainted again.
When I woke up again, I was no longer in the water, but I could still hear the deafening sound. So, I must have been washed ashore by the water, and I wasn't far from the big waterfall.
I also regained sensation in my hands and feet, but my whole body hurt like I had my bones torn apart, and I lay there and couldn't move at all.
Enduring the severe pain, I cried hard and screamed loudly. But I couldn't even hear the crying and screaming, it was completely covered by the sound of water.
After howling for a while, I found that there was a white howl, and no one heard it here, so that no one would feel sorry for themselves and comfort themselves like my mother. So, I shut up and endured it alone. This way, I can save a little more effort.
It hurt, and before I knew it, I actually fell asleep. In fact, it was very cold there, but unfortunately the pain on my body was too cold, and I didn't feel cold at all. At the same time, I suspect that I can howl for so long, endure for so long, and not faint from pain, maybe because of the cold. The coldness here neutralized part of my pain.
I don't know how long it took, but I woke up again in a daze. Still lying in place, but the pain in my body is much better. However, the stomach is very unhappy and feels hungry. Of course, after all this time, if I wasn't hungry, then I wouldn't be human.
Struggling to get up, staggering to find directions, I wanted to get out of here. But in this hellish place where I couldn't see my fingers, I had no direction at all, so I could only move forward with my intuition.
Soon, I touched the stone wall, and along the stone wall, I touched the passage again. In this place, I feel that the passages are everywhere, just like children drawing lines on white paper, criss-crossing and innumerable.
Anyway, I don't know how to get out, and if I can touch a way, then it's a good fate, I don't care about it, I just get into it.
But this cave is actually a ramp, an upward ramp. I walked inside, it was okay at first, the slope was not too big, and I didn't feel anything. But halfway through, the slope suddenly became larger, and what was even more hateful was that the uneven rocks on the ground had all become flat, and on the edge of the waterfall, there would be some water vapor running in, making the side wet and slippery.
In this position, I can't walk steadily, I always wrestle, and I feel like I've lost all the wrestling in my life.
In the second half of the year, the slope increases dramatically, and in today's parlance, it is a slope of more than 45 degrees. I slid and climbed up, on all fours, like a dog, clasping the rocks of the stone wall with both hands, for fear of slipping down.
This is going to fall, it's almost like jumping off a building, absolutely shattered.
I regretted coming in, I knew that this was the case, so I went home halfway and found another way. But unfortunately, there is no regret medicine in this world, if there is, I will regret it directly before entering the cave.
I don't know where I got the perseverance and strength, people have become like this, and they are still struggling to persevere. Later, I was almost hanging on the rock wall and struggling, my hands and feet were worn out, and my head and face were covered in blood.
But I still clinged to the rock wall, not daring to let go, maybe the desire to survive stimulated the potential.
Unfortunately, children have limited physical strength. Eventually, I couldn't hold on and let go of the stone wall.
In an instant, in free fall, I brushed the chute and fell.
At this moment, I didn't know whether it was pain or fright, and I fainted after falling for a few moments.
It wasn't until the pain of hunger that I woke up in a daze.
When I woke up, I was surprised to find that I wasn't dead. Of course, this is nonsense, if you want to die, can you still find out and wake up? But what keeps me from dying is what really surprises me.
At this time, I was still on the ramp. However, I was lying on a short step across the ramp.
What surprised me even more was that the whole staircase was a straight staircase. In other words, the so-called smooth ramp is actually a path that someone can walk in the middle.
I climbed for a long time, and the ramp that almost died for it was in vain.
If I had touched the middle of the ramp and didn't hold on to the stone wall, how could I be so exhausted? So embarrassed?
The feeling of being hungry is very uncomfortable, even worse than being hurt all over your body. There is nothing more painful for a child than being hungry.
In order to cure my hunger, I got up, still on all fours, and began to climb up step by step.
At that time, I didn't know what it meant to have stairs, but at my current level, I guess I would have gotten up and run.
It's a long road, much longer than I imagined. But in my imagination at that time, it was nothing more than the length of the staircase of the school's four floors.
I struggled, crawling step by step, but it was still dark ahead, and I almost had to give up. Exhausted, hungry, and wounded, I really wanted to lie down, and I couldn't wake up.
And just when I couldn't hold on and wanted to fulfill my dream, I witnessed one of the most beautiful scenes in the world. That is, a light!
An abrupt yellowish light appeared diagonally above. A round point, emitting a dazzling orange light, that beauty, compared to fairyland, compared to everything.
Seeing this point of light, I ignored it and began to climb frantically. Actually, I don't have the strength anymore, but I exploded at this moment, and if I can describe it as a rolling belt, I don't mind using it twice. It's a pity it's uphill and I can't use the word. But I really tried my best to crawl with all my strength.
The orange light spots are getting bigger and bigger, and my mood is getting more and more surging. Finally, after a lot of hardship, I arrived at the point of light. And this point of light is a glowing door.
To put it more appropriately, there should be a lamp burning orange flame hanging on a door!
It was really a lamp, and I've seen similar lamps outside, and some of the old people in old houses still use it. It is a stone dish lamp hewn out of stone, with three legs.
But this one on this door, it's all over the door. Perhaps, to use some technical terms, it should be carved from the rock on the door, which is very peculiar.
The flame in the lamp does not shake or wave, and goes straight to the sky. And strangely, it doesn't even smoke. I used to light lamps, kerosene lamps, gasoline lamps, candles and all that would smoke, but it wouldn't smoke.
I noticed it at the time, but it was just a little weird. Even if there is a lamp burning in this hellish place, I just wondered for a moment and didn't think much about it. Based on my experience at that time, where can I think of going?
The door under the dry lamp was square, more regular than the door of the shack made by my father. If you want to say that such a door is a natural formation, I don't believe it. And at that time, I naturally didn't believe it.
I thought there were people living here, completely ignoring how I got here. So I stupidly lay down in front of the door, slammed the door with my hand, stirred up a sound, and called out loudly.
But I screamed for a long time, but I didn't hear my own voice. In this position, the sound of the waterfall is monstrous.
I was tired and hungry, and I couldn't get any longer, so I just climbed in.
Behind the door was a smooth doorway, and when I climbed out of the door, I was greeted by a completely different scene. Here, there is actually a room!
Why do I call this a room instead of a cave? Because this space is square, with a flat ceiling on top and a smooth flat floor below. The walls on all sides are smooth and unraised, just like in a renovated room.
When I saw this, I was already inhabited by default, and I screamed twice more at the top of my voice.
This is a subconscious act of mine, because the water is very loud in this place, and I can't hear myself when I'm outside, but it stands to reason that the situation will be the same inside.
It's true, I yelled twice, but I didn't hear my own voice. However, after a long while, a huge echo erupted in this empty room, and the loudness of the echo completely exceeded the sound of the waterfall, and the waterfall was completely silent, as if the sound of the waterfall was paused, and I heard it very clearly.
And the content of the echo is exactly what I just shouted. Moreover, the clarity is unusual, as if a person shouts it, and every word is clearly audible.
I've been stunned for a while, and I've lived for several years, and I've naturally encountered echoes, but I've never encountered anything like this, which is beyond common sense.
My mind was short-circuited and entangled. Echo energy delay? Can the echo be so clear? Also, can the sounds of nature be paused? What's even more puzzling is that a small space can still inspire echoes? It's simply incredible.
The echo rang three times before it disappeared, and I was stunned for a moment before I forgot about it. There are already many things in this ghost cave that are beyond my imagination, and the multiple strange echoes should not be a problem.
Looking at the empty little room, I was disappointed again. There is no other exit to this room, it is a complete dead end. Thinking that I was tired and tired to climb up, it was actually such a situation, which suddenly made me depressed for a long time.
Hanging my head helplessly, I was ready to turn around and walk back, looking for another exit from the new place below. But, just as I turned around, the corner of my eye swept to the wall next to me.
There was a dark glow on the smooth wall, and then I saw a multitude of ravines on the wall.
At the same time, a big impact erupted in the waterfall outside.
When the impact was gone, the ravine disappeared from the wall, as if it had never existed.
I was instantly intrigued by this phenomenon, and I couldn't help but turn around again, leaned over to the wall, and glared at it.
