Arabic restaurants in Yiwu

The rapid development of Sino-Arab relations has also linked the fate of ordinary people on both sides more closely. In Zhejiang, where I used to work, there is such a story. In the city of Yiwu, where Arab businessmen gather, a Jordanian businessman named Muhannad opened an authentic Arabic restaurant. He brought the original Arabic food culture to Yiwu, and also reaped the success of his career in the prosperity of Yiwu, and finally tied the knot with a Chinese girl and took root in China. An ordinary Arab young man has integrated his life dream into the Chinese dream of the Chinese people's pursuit of happiness, persistently struggled, deduced a brilliant life, and also interpreted the perfect combination of the Chinese dream and the Arab dream.

The young Muhannad, who is from Jordan and whose wife Liu Fang is from Anhui, is well-known in Yiwu's outer business circles. In 2000, he came to China for the first time to work in an Arabic restaurant in Guangzhou, and since then he has fallen in love with China not only in this country, but also in love with Liu Fang, a cheerful and talkative girl from Anhui Province, who also works in the restaurant. In 2001, Muhannad married Liu Fang and became an authentic Chinese son-in-law. He took over an Arabic restaurant opened by his uncle in Yiwu in 2002 and renamed it "Flower", which means the flower of happiness and peace, and the restaurant's logo is a white flower designed by Muhannade.

As a world-renowned international trade city, Yiwu has frequent trade with Arab countries, and a large number of Arab merchants come to Yiwu to purchase goods. In 2005, the Ministry of Public Security authorized Yiwu to directly apply for visas and residence permits for foreigners. As one of the more than 4,000 Arab merchants living in Yiwu, Muhannad now has his own trading company. The two sons are now in primary school in Yiwu and can speak Chinese fluently. Mohannad said that he is very happy living in China, has many friends, and he recently plans to buy a house in Yiwu to settle down.

As for why Yiwu can gather so many Arab merchants, some local people say that Yiwu can be called a modern version of the ancient Silk Road, and the Yiwu people are very inclusive and enthusiastic. Walking into Yiwu, you can find that whether it is the International Trade City, or Huangyuan Market and Binwang Market, you can always meet "foreigners" who speak different languages. From a distribution center for commodities to a distribution center for merchants, inclusive growth has not only allowed Yiwu but also the whole of China to continue to achieve new success.

"Golden partridges, silver partridges, flying around flying Yiwu." With the goal of openness, market and inclusiveness, Yiwu started from "chicken feathers for sugar", and now has become the "world supermarket" with the most complete products; The "Import Commodities Pavilion" has introduced a total of 55,000 kinds of overseas goods from more than 100 countries and regions, and in addition to "selling the world", it can also "buy the world...... Since 2014, the export volume of goods sent to Arab countries accounts for more than half of Yiwu's total exports, and more than 100,000 Arab merchants come to Yiwu to purchase goods every year, and tens of thousands of Arabs hope to settle in Yiwu and realize their dreams in life.

Dreams are a language that knows no barriers. Xi Jinping has repeatedly pointed out that the Chinese Dream is intrinsically connected with the world dream and the dreams of people around the world, "that is, to make the economy more vibrant, trade more free, investment more convenient, roads smoother, and people-to-people exchanges closer; It is to let the people live a more peaceful and prosperous life, so that the children can grow up better, work better and live better." At the opening ceremony of the 6th Ministerial Conference of the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum, Xi Jinping told the story of Yiwu Arab Restaurant, which is precisely to illustrate: the Chinese dream brings peace to the world, not turmoil; An opportunity, not a threat.

From proposing the Chinese Dream to looking forward to the Asian Dream and the Asia-Pacific Dream, from depicting the Chinese Dream to invoking the American Dream and the European Dream, the Chinese Dream expounded by Xi Jinping has never been closed and single, and the Chinese Dream is the same as the beautiful dreams of the people of all countries in the world, including the American Dream. Dreams "are like seeds in the ground, they must sprout and grow, reach out to the ground, and look for sunlight". The Chinese story of Muhannad is the flower of the same dream that bears fruit in openness, inclusiveness, mutual learning, and mutual benefit.
