Three lives and bows
Of course, the courage to take responsibility is for the cause of the party and the people, not for personal limelight. During the Spring and Autumn Period, the Song Dynasty doctor was examining his father as a veteran of several dynasties, but he was very strict with himself, and he cast an inscription on the tripod of the family temple: "One life and a life, another life and a life, three lives and bow." Walking along the wall, there is no need to insult. So, so, to make ends meet. This means that every time there is an appointment and promotion, we have to keep our heads down, we have to bend our backs for another promotion, we have to bend over for three promotions, and we have to walk against the wall even when we are promoted. In life, as long as there is this Ding cooking porridge to make a living. After reading this story, I was very moved. Our cadres are all party cadres, and their powers are all given by the party and the people, and they should dare to act boldly and forge ahead in their work, be modest and prudent in their conduct, and guard against arrogance and rashness.

The key to government lies in honesty, and the foundation of honesty lies in self-discipline. More than 2,000 years ago, Confucius proposed: "Do it for profit, and be resentful", acting only on interests, will attract a lot of resentment; "A gentleman should eat without seeking fullness, living without seeking comfort, being sensitive to things and being cautious in words, there is a way and righteousness, and it can be said that he is studious", a gentleman should not seek to eat and drink, live comfortably, be diligent and agile in work, speak cautiously, and strive to learn from moral people. And Confucius's distant ancestor is taking the test of his father, and he has already interpreted the proposition of strict self-discipline.
Zhengkao's father was a doctor of the Song State in the Spring and Autumn Period, the seventh ancestor of Confucius, and successively assisted the three monarchs of Dai Gong, Wu Gong and Xuan Gong. Zhengkao's father was deeply relied on by the three generations of monarchs of the Song Kingdom, and the official worshiped Shangqing, which can be said to be under one person and above ten thousand people, but he still maintained a humble and gentlemanly attitude, and he was very respectful and low-key. In order to set an example for himself and educate his children and grandchildren, he deliberately cast an inscription in the family temple, so there is a good story of "one life and a life, and then a life, and three lives and bow". In the inscription, there is a word "ε»", a word "δΌ", a word "bow", the word "bow", "bow" and "bow", and the three verbs vividly show the higher the status of the father, the more respectful the situation. The "three lives" are connected and progressive, which can be described as humble ripples and respectful winds. Next, the inscription suddenly changed - "If you walk along the wall, you will not dare to insult", that is, even if you walk along the root of the wall, no one will dare to bully you, which is the power of personality and morality.
The good name and story of the father who is being examined are recorded in classics such as "Historical Records: The Family of Confucius" and "Zuo Biography". "The Family of Confucius" wrote: "I am taking the examination of my father Zuo Dai, Wu, and Xuan, and the three lives are Yigong." It shows his strict self-cultivation and honest political character. He taught his children and family members to be virtuous, upright, modest and frugal, which was also passed down as a good story. Sima Guang said in "Discipline and Thrift": "In the past, he was taking the porridge of his father to make a living, and Meng Xizi knew that there would be a master after him. In the Spring and Autumn Period, the doctor of Lu Guo, Meng Xizi, according to the "Porridge of the Father, to make a living", foresaw that there would be virtuous people in the family of the Father. Now, the new historical Peking Opera "The Father", jointly produced by the Beijing Peking Opera Company and the National Centre for the Performing Arts, brings the deeds of the father to the stage. The excellent qualities of being honest as an official, using power modestly, and being loyal to the family will also affect more people.
The modesty, low-key, upright and cautious of the father is like an ideological defense line against the temptation of power, ensuring that individuals do not exceed the rules and power does not deviate. At the National Organization Work Conference, Xi Jinping told the story of "three lives and bowing down", which was intended to remind the majority of party members and leading cadres to be strict with self-cultivation, strict use of power, and strict self-discipline like their fathers, and put their positions a little lower.
Correctly viewing power and standardizing the use of power can be said to be the first threshold for testing leading cadres. Xi Jinping has many important expositions on the issue of the power of leading cadres. In a speech at the Central Party School, he summed up the "Marxist concept of power" as "power is given by the people and used by the people." At the national organizational work conference, he stressed that "it is a shame to avoid affairs for officials" and that party cadres should dare to act boldly and forge ahead in their work, be modest and cautious in their conduct, and guard against arrogance and rashness. During a discussion with the students of the Central Party School's seminar for secretaries of county party committees, he put forward the "four haves" requirement of having the party in mind, the people in mind, the responsibility in mind, and the precaution in mind. These important expositions have pointed out the direction for leading cadres to correct their outlook on power.
