The Chinese Communists have always taken it as their responsibility to carry forward the excellent traditional Chinese culture, and have constantly endowed the excellent traditional culture with new connotations of the times.
The majority of readers of the People's Daily generally reflect that a series of important speeches and articles by General Secretary Xi Jinping shine with the broad and profound wisdom of the excellent traditional culture of the Chinese nation, especially the classical sentences quoted, which are profound, vivid and inspiring.
At the same time, it is proposed that in the process of studying important speeches (articles), limited by their own traditional cultural accomplishments, they lack awareness of the historical background of the allusions used in the text, and have an inaccurate grasp of their practical significance, so as not to affect their deep understanding of the spirit of the speeches (articles).
Accordingly, the People's Daily specially organized the compilation of the book "Xi Jinping's Dictionary", which aims to interpret the practical significance of the allusions cited in General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speeches (articles) and explain the background meaning of the allusions, so as to help the majority of party members and cadres deeply study the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speeches (articles) and accurately understand the essence of General Secretary Xi Jinping's thoughts.
Yang Zhenwu, president of the People's Daily, presided over the compilation and preface of the book, Lu Xinning, deputy editor-in-chief, Yang Jian, Zhang Tie, Fan Zhengwei, Zhan Yong, and Li Zheng of the Commentary Department wrote the interpretation text, Yang Lixin wrote the allusion paraphrase text, Liu Chunlei was responsible for the revision of the manuscript, and Dong Wei, Ju Tianxiang, Cao Teng, Jiang Juping, Lai Lingli, Gao Liang, Wang Yi and others undertook the checking, editing, and publishing work.
