Chapter 225: Graphic Design
Ye Jiayi didn't mean to hang Xu Ziting.
Although there were unpleasantness in the previous cooperation, her mentality is not so fragile. Even if she is still obsessed with what happened before, she will not be so naïve, deliberately opposed, just to vent her anger.
As for asking the assistant to refuse Xu Ziting's meeting, the main reason is that she has been too busy recently.
For example, the commercial preparation of "Martial Arts Grandmaster", such as the "Evolution of the 4.6 Billion Ensemble" will also be launched, such as the further copyright development of "Hell Apartment", and the plan for overseas release...... These are all things she has to deal with.
No matter how shrewd and capable Ye Jiayi is, she is just one person, and it is impossible to carry all the work on her shoulders. Therefore, the work of sharing the box office of "Hell Apartment" with Lotus Leaf Pictures was handed over to others.
For Wedo Entertainment, the most important project is always the next one.
However, the project of "Martial Arts Grandmaster" still has a certain amount of pressure on Wedo Entertainment. In this context, the entire project is expected to cost more than 500 million yuan.
This is the top and most front-line TV series in China. Such a large investment volume is one of the reasons why many practitioners in the industry are very excited about this project.
But with so much money at once, even if it is Dimension Entertainment, you will feel a lot of pressure.
At present, Ye Jiayi has preliminarily prepared almost 100 million funds for the filming of this TV series. When childhood. At the same time, a number of investment institutions have provided another 100 million funds to participate in this project.
While the rate of return given by Wedo Entertainment is relatively good, their past performance has also made investors full of confidence.
As for the other 300 million funds, it comes from Wedo Technology, needless to say, the "money" of Wedo Technology must be used in the post-production of TV series.
With abundant funding, the whole project can move forward faster. The script has now been polished, and the screenwriting department under Wedo Entertainment is now full of talent. Li Qingzhao worked with a number of screenwriters to create several versions of the script.
In fact, the work on the script began very early. At the beginning, when Wedo Entertainment had just bought the copyright of "Martial Arts Grandmaster", the script compilation work was already in progress.
And when Fan Zhe had the idea to transform this work into film and television, a more refined polishing of the script was put on the agenda.
Now, after many discussions and revisions, this version of the script still feels very good in Fan Zhe's opinion. Basically maintains the spirit of the original. Moreover, under his instructions, the screenwriters did not make too many adaptations to some scenes that were difficult to shoot. After all, with the dimensional system in the back, many pictures that seem difficult to achieve in traditional shooting will become a highlight in this drama.
In addition to the script, Fan Zhe also spent a lot of effort on the initial concept design.
In fact, there was some progress in the conceptual design of this work earlier. Many company artists have been designing and drawing works in the company's copyright library when they have not specifically joined a project. Among them, "Martial Arts Grandmaster" is a hit, and many artists are quite interested in it, so they have accumulated a lot of pictures.
Many of these designs don't seem to fit now, but there are many that can be used directly. Including Fan Zhe himself, he also drew some concept design drawings.
The design he did basically defined the overall style of the work.
In his imagination, "Martial Arts Grandmaster" should be a work that is biased towards sunshine and blood, and the painting style will not be dark. Several of the conceptual design drawings he made are also based on warm colors, and the pictures are delicate and beautiful.
One of them is a picture of the protagonist Lou Cheng playing an official game for the first time.
It was a ring race.
The protagonist Lou Zheng is wearing a martial arts uniform, showing heroic spirit between his fists and feet. He visualized an avalanche and slammed his fist into the other side.
Fan Zhe's kung fu naturally does not need to be questioned, however, when he painted this picture, he encountered a lot of difficulties.
Just because there's no problem with the technology doesn't mean that the design is also so smooth.
The original author of "Martial Arts Grandmaster" squid, in this work, has a setting that will make designers very crazy: visualization.
For example, in this picture, the protagonist uses the 'big avalanche' move.
According to the setting of the original book, this move requires the user to visualize the picture and scene of the collapse of the snow peak in his mind, and then cooperate with the strength to punch with a special force technique, which is as fierce as an avalanche.
So this poses a huge problem for the designer: how to show the character visualizing an avalanche while punching and attacking?
This is a particularly troublesome matter.
Of course, if you want to save the trouble, you can choose to remove the visualization part. But Fan Zhe would certainly not do this, which would make the action scenes of the work lose a considerable part of their charm.
In order to make this design, he scratched off an unknown number of hairs.
To this end, he drew several maps. Some of them are expressed in the form of images of extracerebral fantasies. However, it is strange that the visualization is not well integrated with the actual battle screen.
Then Fan Zhe designed another version. He made 'Avalanche' into a special effect and showed it on his fists and feet. It's like in some movies, games or animations, the light and shadow effects of the characters when they release their skills, so it looks much more comfortable, and it's very powerful and domineering.
However, Fan Zhe thought about it carefully, compared it with the description in the original book, and gave up the design of this version.
Regarding this battle, the protagonist had just learned martial arts at the time, and the level he was at was still relatively low, between the amateur first rank and the professional ninth grade, and he should still belong to mortals. In this way, playing such a fantasy punch and kick move, no matter how you look at it, it doesn't feel very reasonable, and the style of the original book is quite different.
After all, the selling point that Fan Zhe wants to give this work is still the hard-core fighting that is fist-to-flesh. It's not particularly good to come up with so many bells and whistles at the beginning.
The most important thing is to make the moves so grand and cool at a low level, so how to express their moves when they meet a real inhuman powerhouse later?
After much consideration, Fan Zhe was still cautious, abandoned the design of this version, and finally chose the third version: Background Visualization.
