Chapter 1 Writing Wheels
With a glass of red wine in his hand and his eyes under his top hat, Levi looked around in the resplendent venue.
If anyone pays attention, they can see that his left eye is very different from ordinary people at this moment. In the midst of the scarlet eyes, a magatama was slowly turning.
There is one eye that no one knows about this world, but in another world, there is a well-known name - Writing Wheel Eye.
"Come on...... Let me see, where the hell are you...... Great, found! β
His gaze locked on the obese middle-aged white man who was talking to three or four people.
This is the Long Ridge Manor, an upscale clubhouse in the upper district of the city of New Westdum. The consumption of a night of chartering at Changling Manor is about thirty amethyst. It is still a question mark whether a worker who has worked hard for ten years and can earn so much without eating or drinking.
At this moment, the entire manor is brightly lit, and a wedding is just coming to an end. The newlyweds held hands and chatted with the guests in the hall. Under the dazzling oversized crystal lamps of the resplendent hall, the gentlemen and ladies exchanged happily.
It was also at this moment that the host standing on the stage said loudly:
ββ¦β¦ Let's welcome the youngest violin professor from the Westdum Conservatory β Jack Robson! β
Levi spit out the toothpick in his mouth, closed the writing wheel, and then stepped on the spiral staircase from the darkness into the light amid the host's passionate announcement.
The moment the light and darkness changed, the evil smile that he had originally maintained on his face disappeared in an instant, and turned into a serious and solemn look.
Underneath his solemn black tuxedo was a pure white shirt with a black bow tied between the collar and a high top hat on his head. With his leather shoes on the smooth marble staircase, Levi walked to the top of the spiral staircase, the performance platform.
He bowed slightly, and the whole hall applauded, this was for him...... No, it should be said that it is respect for the original owner of his present appearance, Mr. Robson.
But Levi didn't care.
Without further ado, he took the quaint violin from the hand of a waiter beside him, and the melodious music sounded.
After the polite applause, the people continued their conversation amid the music. In the eyes of these people who are not rich or noble, although the name of the Westdum Conservatory is not small, and the name of the youngest violin professor is also a bit gimmicky, but at best, it is only that, giving some respect is the limit, and hoping to give more?
What's more, after hearing the music, people felt that this guy who was known as a genius violinist was a little unworthy of his name, and the sound of the piano was not as wonderful as it was rumored.
As a result, people stopped paying attention to him.
And this is a better thing for Levi, and he continues to play quietly.
After a few minutes of music, he cleared his throat, and when the music was over, he suddenly spoke, saying: "Ladies and gentlemen, today is a wonderful moment for Mr. Zhang Shenghong and Ms. Nena to get married, and in order to extend my most sincere wishes to the two newlyweds, I have prepared a small gift. β
The butler in charge of scheduling the entire wedding in the background was frightened by Levi's sudden words.
According to the process explained in advance, at this time, Levi should bow down from the stage and give up the performance platform to the next person. He's already scheduled for the next performer, who knew that guy on the field who didn't know how to mess around like this?
His face flushed with anger, but the housekeeper didn't dare to go up and drag Levi down. On such an important occasion, the guests in the hall are so honorable, what kind of chaos is there, and he doesn't want to continue his work as a butler.
He could only pray now that Levi could do things more beautifully and not cause the displeasure of the distinguished guests, and decided in his heart that he would teach this guy a good lesson afterwards, and at least half of his salary would be deducted!
No matter how angry he was, he couldn't tell Mr. Robson what to say about Mr. Robson on stage, so he could only listen to him continue: "This is a mysterious gift, which can only be given at a wedding, and before the ancient cataclysm, a gift given in this way would bring good luck to the recipient. β
"I'll close my eyes and point out a random noble gentleman or lady......," he said, Levi closed his eyes and continued, "and he's going to get this little mysterious gift." β
"Let's see, who will this lucky person be......" The arm that shook randomly quickly stopped, and the person he pointed at was an obese middle-aged man.
chuckled in his heart, but Levi showed a look of surprise on his face: "It seems that we have found this lucky gentleman." Mr. Andrew, your impromptu speech to the citizens and journalists on the street in front of Blackbird four days ago was really sonorous, and the assessment of the untouchables in the lower districts was so sharp that it was stupid, lazy and restless. β
Levi's words were polite and respectful, and he said such words in a gentleman's way, which was very face-saving in a place where almost all the people in the audience were upper-class, and it also made the man named Andrew very useful.
With a smile on his face, he stepped up to the stage, picked up the microphone handed over from the waiter, and said, "No, no, you can't be too polite to those untouchables in the lower districts. Wanting a raise, but refusing to accept sixteen hours of work, is really an inch. β
"Yes." Levi laughed, "However, we won't mention those untouchables today. Mr. Andrew may have been interested in the little gift in my hand, right? Come, face me, hand it over, and be careful, this gift must not be seen by anyone, otherwise it will not have the effect of blessing. β
Andrew put down the microphone and faced him as Levi had said, only to see a scarlet eye.
His spirit was slightly in a trance, as if a murmur sounded in his ears.
ββ¦β¦ Come, I put this gift in your hands...... Right, that's it, you know what it is, right? Look at the smile on your face, you know it's going to bring you good luck, right? Hush...... Don't say it, don't let others know, it's a secret and you will be blessed with ancient blessings. β
Andrew's eyes were blurred, but no one except Levi in front of him could observe the anomaly.
When Levi put away the writing wheel, Andrew also returned to normal, but the mental tampering caused by illusion had been engraved in his mind.
Perhaps, after a while, he will be able to react, but now, he completely trusts every word that Levi says, and treats the glass bead that Levi gave him as a rare treasure, hiding it in his arms and showing it to anyone.
β¦β¦
After stepping down, Levi ignored the butler's chatter and did not care about the deduction of salary, and soon left the manor.
And when he appeared outside the manor, he didn't look like a violinist Robson at all, he was dressed in ordinary clothes, and he had an inconspicuous appearance, no different from the most ordinary workers who served the powerful and rich in the upper districts.
He finds an unconscious man in a hidden bush - the real Robson - and wakes him up.
As soon as Robson woke up, he was hypnotized by the writing wheel, and then he heard Levi say, "You participated in Mr. Zhang Shenghong's wedding today, and left to go home after finishing a song, right?" β
ββ¦β¦ Right. β
"You generously gave a beggar the honorarium for this performance, right?"
ββ¦β¦ Right. β
"Well, I'm just a passerby you see everywhere on the road, and you don't see my face clearly, and you can't remember any of my features, do you?"
ββ¦β¦ Right. β
"Okay, then you can go home now, your girlfriend is still waiting for you to have dinner together."
"Yes, I should be home right now."
Seeing Robson leave, a smile appeared on the corner of Levi's mouth: another mission has been accomplished.
β¦β¦
Before the sun had risen, in the darkest hours before dawn, Levi appeared in a nondescript bar in the Seventeenth block of the lower part of Westdum.
A tattered sign reading 'Savory Taste' hung in front of the bar, nailed to the wall with a rusty nail and swaying to the sound of the door being opened.
"Can't you just fix your signboard?"
The female proprietor Erin, who was sitting behind the bar, didn't look at Levi who walked in, and continued to wipe the cup in her hand: "Did you send something out?" β
"Why don't you give me a drink?"
"Answer my question first."
"Okay, okay." Levi shook his head, Erin, a woman with red hair, an extremely hot body, and a majestic chest that almost broke her clothes, was really a stunner in the worldβif she could get rid of her stinky temper.
He poured himself a glass, and after drinking it all, Levi said: "You can rest assured that the locator has been sent out." β
Erin looked up, an admiring smile on her face. She pulled Li Wei over, rubbed her chest against Li Wei's face, and said, "Yo, it's not my favorite little brother, the efficiency is really good!" β
Levi struggled to break free from her arms, and he really felt a headache for this woman's character.
Erin looks glamorous and generous, and her movements are intimate and ambiguous, but she is an out-and-out thorny red rose. In the past two months of knowing her, Levi has seen many fools who have been tricked to death by her.
He didn't want to be the next one.
Erin pursed her lips and looked a little unhappy, but in fact, it was more of an appreciation for Levi.
She remembered that a month ago, Levi was just the most ordinary little bounty hunter. This kind of person, Erin has seen a lot, and he has not yet evolved further and has the potential to unlock the genetic lock.
Originally, she didn't pay much attention to this kind of character. As a bar owner in the lower district on the surface, and a de facto underground quest publisher, what kind of person has she not seen? Moreover, a month ago, she also heard that this kid didn't know how to provoke a group of people who shouldn't be messed with.
She was very unoptimistic about Levi's fate.
Soon after, the news came that Levi had been beaten to death in the Black Alley, proving that she was right.
But it didn't take long for the kid to reappear in front of him.
What surprised him even more was that after this incident, Levi seemed to be a different person.
It seems to have become more mature and more aloof.
It's kind of cool.
Of course, none of this matters. The important thing is that he took on several tasks in a row that made Erin feel tricky and estimated that no one would take them, and finally completed them alive.
That's a bit impressive.
A good bounty hunter, that's a rarity, especially for Erin.
This flamboyant bar owner doesn't mind a few more good hunters in her jurisdiction, and the increase in the rate of task completion and the number of completions is quite beneficial to her.
Erin has no intention of exploring Levi's secrets, as long as he can continue to complete the mission, that is a good thing.
On that basis, she didn't mind being nice to Levi. And after getting along for a long time, she found that this kid is still a good person.
After coming and going, Erin can be regarded as Levi came to this world and made his first friend.
After stealing a glass of wine to drink, Levi wiped his mouth and said, "Andrew is not a big man, but the Blackbird Heavy Industries he relies on is a famous big enterprise, who is so bold as to dare to target him?" β
"Don't ask what you shouldn't." Erin took out a box from under the bar and placed it in front of Levi.
Levi said as he lit up the bills representing energy crystals in the box, "I don't care who targets him or what the people who target him do, but I don't want to get in trouble because of this." β
"Isn't there less trouble for you?" Erin laughed at him and said, "But don't worry this time, the person who issued the mission is not small, and he is planning to kill Andrew, you don't have to worry about what tail will wrap around you in this matter." β
"That's what you always say." Levi complained and pushed the box back again, "The money for this mission, as well as the money I saved with you, should be enough to exchange for a primary genetic repair agent, right?" Just help me replace it. β
Erin was silent for a moment and said, "Why bother? You know it's useless. β
"Gotta try again." Levi looked indifferent.
"It's up to you." Erin didn't say anything more, but when Levi was about to leave, she added an extra reminder:
"The Skeleton Party looks like they've found you, be careful."
It was a superfluous reminder that Erin usually didn't do this kind of thing, but for Levi, she made an exception.
Levi didn't stop, he pushed the door and waved at Erin as he left, and said, "I already know, but thank you." I'll ask you to drink when I turn around. β
Erin snorted, lowered her head to wipe his glass, and muttered, "Don't die." β
