Jin Yong (March 10, 1924 – October 30, 2018), formerly known as Zha Liangyong, was born in Haining, Zhejiang Province, and moved to Hong Kong in 1948[1]. Contemporary martial arts writer, journalist, entrepreneur, political commentator, social activist, one of the "Four Great Talents of Hong Kong" [1-2].

In 1944, he was admitted to the Department of Foreign Affairs of the Central Political University in Chongqing. In the autumn of 1946, Jin Yong joined the Shanghai "Ta Kung Pao" as an international telecommunications translator. In 1948, he graduated from the Law School of Soochow University in Shanghai[1]. In 1952, he was transferred to the editorial supplement of "New Evening News", and wrote film scripts such as "Peerless Beauty" and "Orchid Flower". In 1959, Jin Yong and others founded Ming Pao in Hong Kong [3].

Since 1985, he has served as a member of the Drafting Committee for the Basic Law of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, one of the chairpersons of the Political System Sub-Committee, a member of the Executive Committee of the Basic Law Advisory Committee, and a member of the Preparatory Committee for the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. In 2000, he was awarded the Grand Bauhinia Medal. In September 2009, he was appointed as the Honorary Vice Chairman of the 7th National Committee of the Chinese Writers Association [4-5]. In the same year, he won the 2008 Influencing the World Chinese Lifetime Achievement Award [6]. In 2010, he received a doctorate in philosophy from the University of Cambridge [1].

On October 30, 2018, Jin Yong passed away in Hong Kong at the age of 94.

Speaking of Mr. Jin Yong, in the whole of China, it is estimated that there is no one who does not know him, Lao Xia to tell the truth, I have never read any of his original books, but I have not watched his changing movies and television.
