Chapter 50: Nose Spitfire
Many people will not give up easily until they touch their nose with ashes.
Albert's roommate was obviously no exception, and after staring at the first volume of Practical Defense Magic and Its Restraint on Dark Magic, he finally couldn't resist giving it a try.
"Armor!" Fred raised his wand and swiped down, chanting a spell from the book, but nothing happened.
"The book says the Iron Charm doesn't glow!" George reminded with a gesture comparing the two.
"Come on, try again. Lee Jordan picked up Dark Forces: A Guide to Self-Defense and threw it at Fred.
"Are you trying to crush me?" Fred quickly jumped out of the way and glared at Lee Jordan.
"Danger brings out more of your potential, and a book can't kill you. Li Jordan immediately quibbled.
"Use this!" Albert angrily threw Fred's pillow to Li Jordan, he felt that Fred was estimated to be difficult to succeed, and didn't throwing books to find trouble?
In fact, Albert was right, and Fred gave up for the time being after being smacked by his own pillow several times.
Of course, neither George nor Lee Jordan made it.
"Alright, you guys should practice the simpler spells. Albert couldn't help but roll his eyes at the two.
What should it be called?
Insatiable and insatiable?
Well, I guess Professor McGonagall saw herself that way at that time.
Albert is different from the trio, though!
He has a panel and an experience pool, and as long as the skill starts, he can spend experience to cheat at any time.
"Is there any trick to learning the Iron Armor Charm quickly?" Fred couldn't help but ask.
"The trick?" Albert thought for a moment and said, "Practice a lotβthat's probably the quickest trick!"
"But how did you master these spells so quickly, and it's only been a long time since the summer vacation!" George was a little depressed, he found that Albert knew a lot of magic!
This can't help but make him wonder who was born into a wizarding family.
"I think I can probably guess a little bit of why!" Albert said after a moment's thought.
"What is the reason?" Fred hurriedly asked.
"Have you ever played a game that can be upgraded?" Albert glanced at the expressions on the faces of several people, "Well, I guess you haven't, in other words." Does it take practice to become good at chess?"
"What does this have to do with playing chess?" the twins couldn't help but complain.
"Playing chess requires not only talent, but also practice to improve your chess skills, and the higher your chess skills, the better you are. Albert casually gave an example that didn't quite fit. "Magic is actually pretty much the same, casting spells requires talent......"
"You want to say that your talent is better than ours?" Jordan Lee interrupted him.
"No, I would like to say that you need to practice to improve your magical power and control over it. Albert explained, rather speechless.
"You mean that your magic is stronger than ours and that you have better control over it than we do?" the twins asked suspiciously.
"Yes, at least for the time being. Albert nodded, "As I mastered more and more spells, I found it easier to learn new spells than before, and I remember what Professor McGonagall had said back then: Hogwarts can teach underage wizards how to control and use magic. β
"How do I feel you're fooling us?" Fred said, raising an eyebrow.
"I'm not going to do that, and as I said, it's just my guess. Albert shook his head repeatedly, he didn't fool the three of them, as the number of self-taught magic increased, so did his experience of failure when learning magic, which was the additional experience accumulation that was lacking in using the experience pool to directly upgrade skills.
After failing repeatedly, the Weasley twins had given up on trying to master the Iron Armor Charm for a while, focusing on the Lockpicking Charm.
After an afternoon of practice, Fred succeeded first, using the lock-picking charm to open the locks of the drawers.
"Great, how did you do that!" George looked at Fred with a little envy, his drawer still motionless.
"Look, Fred learned the lockpicking spell first, and I won. Albert, who was reading a book next to him, winked at Lee Jordan and said, he innocently handed a little pepper urchin to Lee Jordan, "Eat, willing to gamble and lose." β
"What are you gambling on?" Fred asked, confused.
"Bet on which of you will master the lock-picking spell first. Albert smiled and said, "If you lose, eat this ......."
As he spoke, he raised his hand and pointed to the pepper boy he had bought at Duke Bee's candy store.
Albert was right, he was willing to lose. β
George patted his friend on the shoulder and looked at him expectantly. That's right, he was expecting Lee Jordan to eat that candy and spew flames out of his nose.
"It's all your fault. Li Jordan said with a resentful face, he opened the candy wrapper and stuffed the candy into his mouth, his cheeks suddenly turned red, and cold sweat left on his forehead.
The next moment.
"It's so spicy......" When Li Jordan opened his mouth, a really spicy flame burst out of his nostrils, and it instantly confused George's face.
"Bastard, you must have done it on purpose. George's face was a little dark, and there was a smell of pepper.
"Ahem. Lee Jordan spewed out some more flames.
However, after seeing what happened to George, Albert and Fred immediately went into hiding, fearing that they would suffer an unjustified disaster.
The guy must have done it on purpose, yes, definitely did it.
A few minutes later, Lee, who had just rinsed his mouth in the bathroom, looked at Albert with a resentful expression, the smell of pepper had not completely dissipated, and his nostrils were still red from the fire.
"Next time, I will never bet this with you. Li Jordan said angrily.
"Next time, I will be able to eat multi-flavored beans. Albert blinked, closing his eyes and picking three at random.
"That's a good idea. β
"Don't you keep practicing? Success once doesn't mean you can succeed again. Albert threw a chocolate chip into his mouth and began to flip through "Selected Nineteenth-Century Spells" again, which he had read two-thirds of the way through.
"How's your illusion spell learned? Fred asked, digressing the subject.
"I haven't mastered it yet, and that spell is much harder than a lock-picking spell. Albert glanced at the information on the panel, the experience of the illusion spell was only 35 points, and he still needed to train well from the 100 points of level 1.
"Is that spell really hard?" asked George, with a look of suspicion.
"Of course it's hard. Albert couldn't help but roll his eyes and said, "I heard that it is one of the spells that the Aurors must learn. Well, what kind of profession is Auror. β
Albert knew what an Auror was, of course, but he shouldn't have too many attempts in the wizarding world to speak out about the Muggle world.
"It's over!"
"What's over?" Albert asked, confused.
"I'm sure I won't be able to learn the Illusion Spell this year. The twins couldn't help but wail, this is a necessary spell for night travel.
