Chapter 10: Alice

It was Lady Caflin's shout.

Come on.

I'm ashamed to admit it, because my mind was full of the figure, the thought, all shouting the same word together.

Come on.

So I obeyed them. I ran. But no, I went in the direction they wanted me to go. Am I following my instincts, as Mr. Mark has taught, or am I ignoring them?

I do not know. All I knew was that while every nerve in my body seemed to want me to get out of the room as soon as possible, from what I knew was dangerous, I had violated it, and I was running towards it.

I ran into the hallway, barely having time to think about anything else, and under the stairs I heard more screams and saw blood on the ground.

I hurried towards the stairs, only to see another corpse. It was a guard soldier, his belly clutched, his eyelids fluttering wildly, and in a few moments he slipped to the floor and died, a trace of blood coming out of the corner of his mouth.

I ran over the corpse to the stairs, and the only thing I could do was get to my parents. The inside of the dark porch was filled with screams and running footsteps, and the first wisps of smoke rose from the porch.

I tried to find my position, when another scream came from above, and I hurriedly pushed the door open, and two swaying figures in the thick fog, the reflection of the moonlight made me see the cold light of the steel in their hands flashing, one of them blocking the attack of another, and that person seemed to be my father's guard.

The flashes of light that flew by gave me a glimpse of his pitiful fate, the other man struck his sword with one hand and pulled his gun out of his pocket with the other.

"Be careful!" I shouted, but instead of preventing his death, I hastened it, and the man turned to look at me, and at that moment the other man split his block with all his might, and then quickly swiped his neck, and the servant covered his neck with his hand, choked up, and fell to the ground. His killer let out a howl of victory, and then I heard his footsteps running as he went deeper into the room, toward the room where my parents were.

"Mom!" I shouted, and as I rushed into the hallway, the door to the room where my parents were was pushed open, and my father rushed out to fight the intruder. He wore a black robe and a navy tricorne, loosened the maglev oil lamp in one hand, and held a sword in the other.

"Luna!" My father shouted at me, and the attacker stood in the aisle between us. The man stopped, turned to look at me, and by the light of the maglev oil lamp, I could really see his face for the first time.

He wears a black military robe and wears the kind of half-face mask that he wears for a masquerade. Then he changed direction, and instead of attacking my father, he turned around with a smirk and chased after me.

"Luna!" Father yelled again. He left the house, and my father rushed in front of me in advance and stopped the attacker. Then, the distance between them immediately shortened, but it was not enough. Behind me, a second assailant appeared on the stairs, sword in hand, blocking my way. His outfit was exactly the same as the previous one's, but I noticed the only difference: his ears.

His ears are pointy, and with a mask, he looks like an ugly, misshapen demon. I was stunned for a moment, and then I turned to see that the smiling man had already fought with my father, and the swords in their hands clanged. The man took the opportunity to shatter the maglev oil lamp, and they fought each other in half-light and half-darkness. The short and brutal fight was punctuated by the snorting of the two men and the sound of swords clashing. Even in this intense and dangerous moment, I couldn't help but wish there was enough light for me to see my father fighting.

Then the battle ended, and the smirking killer couldn't laugh anymore, dropping his sword and screaming and tumbling off the handrail of the stairs. The pointy-eared assailant behind me had already climbed half the stairs, but he changed his mind and suddenly turned and ran back.

Then, there was a loud shout from below, and I quickly jumped over the handrail, and then I saw a third person, also wearing a mask, who beckoned to the man with pointed ears, and the two of them disappeared into the aisle together. When I looked up, I saw my father's face change in the dim light.

"Go find your mother." He said

I then realized that my father was only acting as a decoy, and that my mother had left with Lady Cavlin and Mr. William herself, and I hesitated.

The next moment, without hesitation, my father jumped over the handrail and into the foyer, and as he jumped, I heard Ms. Cavlin's shout: "Hudson! The pain in her shouts echoed in my mind. No, my only thought at this point is: those two attackers left us behind.

Why did they leave us?

I hurried down the stairs with my father and ran towards where my mother was. Mother, they were in the room opposite the room I had just entered. The door was open, and my father rushed in front of me, and when I entered the room, I found my mother surrounded by them, and my mother was holding a sword, facing the two intruders, and behind her stood Mr. William and Ms. Cavlin, and what about Alice? Why is Alice missing?

When she saw us come in, Ms. Cavlin hurried towards me and my father.

Just then, another intruder smashed the window and leaped forward, grabbing Cavlyn from behind with one hand while swinging his sword forward with the other, intending to slash the blade through her exposed throat.

I did not hesitate to do so, I did not have time to think about Alice's insight, and I immediately stepped forward in a continuous manner, raising the sword I had been holding above my head, and plunging it into the face with both hands before he slashed through Caflin's throat.

I aimed well, the tip of the sword piercing through the mask's eyehole and into his eye socket, and his screams pierced the night sky as he stepped away from Cavlin, my sword stabbed into his eye. I quickly drew my sword, and then he slammed into the wall, then staggered and shook for a while, then fell to his knees and fell forward, his head dying before he could touch the ground.

Mr. William hurried forward to catch Ms. Cavlin, who had pounced. I looked back at my parents, and they had disappeared into this room, presumably running to another room with the attackers to fight.

I could not hesitate, I turned to them and said, "William, Cavlin, you wait here for a while, and I will go and meet my father and mother." With that, I let go of Caflin's hand and ran towards the room in front of me.

In front was the hall, and by the time I got to the door, the whole house had fallen into an eerie silence. The hall was empty, and it was still dark despite the ominous orange glow that shimmered around. The air began to thicken with smoke, and through the hazy smoke I saw more corpses: the killer and some of the servants in this room, their throats had been slit and they were lying in a pool of blood.

Then I heard the sound of swords clashing in a small room next to the hall, the door of which was ajar and there were five people, including my father and mother. "They need me," I was about to rush in, but was caught by Cavlin, who was rushing behind me.

I tried to break free of her, but she understood what I was going to do, and pulled me tighter until I forced my hand back, and due to the alteration of my body, and the force I used a little more, Cavlin fell to the floor.

For a moment, I realized that I was torn between whether to help Caflin to her feet or to apologize, and I was horrified to see her fall to the floor because I had only been there, but then I heard a shout from the room, and it was enough for me to let go of what I was seeing and rush into the house that year.

My mother sat on the floor beside her, her arms and legs wounded enough to incapacitate her; And on the other side, my father, he fell to his knees, his right arm cut off, and he was dying.

Then, the man standing in front of him plunged the sword in his hand deep into his father's chest, and the long sword did not reach the hilt, and the blade pierced through his back, and blood dripped from the tip of the sword to the floor.

"Hudson!" Mother shouted.

I couldn't help myself, I pounced on the murderer, he was taken aback, and before he could pull his sword from his father's chest, he stepped back to avoid my sword, and at the same time he let go of his sword, my father fell to the floor.

At that time, I continued to pursue the murderer like a fool, but I forgot to defend my flank, and then, out of the corner of my eye, I saw movement in the corner of my eye, and the man with pointed ears next to me jumped forward. I'm not sure if he was intentional or if he missed the opportunity to attack, and instead of screaming at me, he hit me with the round head of the hilt.

All of a sudden, my world was turned upside down, it was pitch black, I was on my side on the floor, dizzy, and I was facing my father, who was lying on his side, the hilt of his sword still in his chest. Only the last trace of the candle of life remained in his eyes, and his eyelids twitched, as if adjusting his anxiety to see me.

At that moment, the two of us wounded people were lying face to face. His lips quirmed slightly, and through the dark clouds of pain and sorrow in his heart, I saw my father stretch out his hand to me.

"Daddy......" I said. The next moment, the murderer strode towards us, and without hesitation, he stooped down and drew his sword from his father. His father convulsed violently, and finally a painful spasm made him arch as he opened his mouth, revealing bloody teeth, and then he died.

I felt a boot kick in my side, turning me over, I looked up into the killer's eyes, now he was going to be my killer, he smirked, raised his sword with both hands, ready to stab it into my body.

If not long ago the voice of my heart begging me to flee made me ashamed, now my inner composure makes me proud: because I have done my best for this family and this group, because I have killed my best friends, and I will soon be reunited with them, and to live is only to atone for my sins, and I will depict death with gratitude.

Of course, it didn't work out that way, and if it did, I think you, as someone reading my diary, would be able to escape, because it was a ghost who wrote these words.

Let's get down to business. Something caught my attention at that moment, it was the tip of a sword, which appeared between the murderer's legs, and the blade of the sword was suddenly pulled up with electricity, and easily slice his torso through the groin.

It was only later that I realized that the intention of attacking from this direction had less to do with brutality and more to force the murderer away from me than to push him forward. But this move was very fierce, and before the other party could scream, his body was cut in half lengthwise, and blood splattered when it was cut, and half and half fell to the ground on both sides, and the incision exuded steaming heat.

Standing behind him was Alice. "Are you alright, Luna?" She asked.

In just a minute, my consciousness and function were fully restored, and I stood up and replied, "I'm fine, Alice. ”

"Take it." Alice threw another sword at me, and she turned and raised her sword to intercept the pointy-eared man, who was already striking at her with a gleaming blade.

I stood up and was ready to help Alice, she had already forced the two attackers to the other side of the door, and suddenly the sharp-eared man seemed to see something, and he jumped to the other side, and the next moment Alice jumped backwards, and she reached out a hand to stop me from coming forward, and the pointy-eared man was holding my mother hostage.

"Stand back!" Pointed ears roared, Do I care more about avenging my father's death than protecting my mother?

"Stay there!" The pointy-eared man repeated, pulling my mother back. Suddenly, the last masked man appeared in front of us, exactly all five, waving a torch that had been burning, and I went back to another part of the room that was blazing, and the fire was licking the door to the hall. The man with the torch beckoned the other assailant to the door, threw the torch at the curtain, and the flame ignited the curtain, and the flame burned around us, and Alice and I were powerless to stop.

I looked behind me at Mr. William and Ms. Carvlin, and thankfully they were safe and sound, but my mother was very different. She was pulled to the main entrance of the mansion, her eyes fixed on me and Alice, and she wanted to tell us to leave her alone and avenge my father, but I couldn't, I didn't want to lose it again.

The attacker with torches joined his accomplices and rushed towards the side of the road, where we saw a carriage parked in the street outside.

At first I thought they would let my mother go, but it backfired. She was dragged to the carriage, then stuffed into it, and then the four men closed the door, and the carriage sped away, disappearing into the night, leaving us trapped inside the burning house.

"What should we do?" I asked.

"Run......" Alice fell to her knees before she could finish speaking, blood was coming from the corners of her mouth, and I realized that her abdomen was bleeding, and I lifted her up and put her hands on top of mine, and she was in shock and unconscious.

As the smoke in the room grew thicker and thicker, I quickly beckoned William and Cavlyn to evacuate quickly and assured them that they would come out safely. I stayed here to get Alice out, when the smoke in the house became thicker, and I had some difficulty breathing, and the flames engulfed the door frame, and I couldn't move Alice a little.

Just then, Alice spoke, "Luna," she said in a choked voice, "I'm sorry that I've moved your father's body out and dragged you into this fire, so ......"

Before I could react, Alice shoved me out the door, and I flew out of the door and fell to the ground.

"You have to live well...... We'll see each other again......" Alice whispered, and I saw her expression in the midst of the fire, a smile of relief.

"Alice!" I quickly got up and was about to run over to pull her out of the fire, but it was too late, and there was a "boom", an explosion was heard from the inside of the house, and then I was knocked down by a black shadow, which was "Doudou".

Immediately, the house collapsed......
