Chapter 35: Stealth
Luna's breathing calms down, the crisis finally passes, and the pain of the fall returns. Before they could recuperate, the two of them had a top priority to fill their stomachaches, at least Luna hadn't eaten for nearly twelve hours.
Luna glanced sideways at Alice, who was lying next to her, and she fainted from exhaustion, slumping on the floor. Luna resisted the phantom pain in the nerve endings that had healed and stood up to pick up Alice, who had passed out, and the two of them helped each other out of the castle first.
Luna examines Alice's arm, which she grabbed with her hand and found that the bone was not broken or dislocated, much to Luna's surprise, as she had some abrasions on her body. Her extremely fair skin was mixed with some black objects, although I later learned that it was the remnants of wood chips from the last explosion, besides. The wound on the right side of her body was gradually healing.
Luna looked around, and though no one was catching up, they must have seen Luna fall down the steep slope and run over the broken bridge, perhaps they thought they had managed to drop me to the bottom of the hill, and Luna figured that they would not abandon themselves for no reason.
May they think they're dead, Luna thought as she carried Alice, and Luna looked at the mountain beside her, perhaps climbing faster than following the path to it, though Luna didn't know where the path leads. The cliff looked like it wasn't difficult to climb, but the only obstacle now was Luna carrying Alice on her back, so she had no choice but to follow the path to the back of the mountain, take off the portable tent Alice was carrying, and camp there.
The tent was good, sturdy, compressible, and warm, and Luna couldn't help but sigh at Lucius's prodigy.
Luna places Alice in the tent, takes the folding compound bow and camping axe from her waist, and activates the tent's optical camouflage device so she can safely search for food.
Luna sheds her armor and is left with only a black bodysuit, her hair tied up, a black mask, and black gloves so she can hide in the shadows of the rocks. At first, Luna struggles to find her footing on the rocky path, but soon she has to stretch her limbs, and the nerve endings that healed from the wound protest in pain.
At one point, a piece of gravel suddenly hits Luna's hand, causing her to nearly fall off a cliff with a drop of 200 feet. After ten minutes of climbing, Luna finally found the stream, and perhaps some living creature could be found here.
Luna flexed her hand slowly, and a miniature wrist crossbow spread across her wrist, and Luna unhurriedly wound the crossbow and groped for the back, huh...... Hey!
Arrows! Arrows! Arrows! After Luna responds to something important three times in her mind, she realizes that she doesn't have an arrow.
All the weapons at Luna's disposal were seized by the bastards in the castle, alas...... As Luna sighed, she spotted the bushes nearby, which made her a little excited, and she ran over to pick up her camping axe and chop down a few poles, then caught the gravel and sharpened it.
But now was not the time to sigh, Luna returned to the edge of the stream, crouched down, staring at the dark water in the depths, still and patient. Soon after, a circle of ripples appeared on the surface of the water, and although it was so faint, it was enough to prove that there was something alive underwater.
Luna couldn't afford to miss this opportunity, and she continued to stare at the water, although a few flies flew onto her mask, but Luna resisted to keep her prey from being blasted away. In order not to alarm her prey, she could only silently endure mosquito bites.
Finally her efforts paid off, and in the water something with a plump body and a silver-white body color was slowly swimming six feet underwater. It seemed to be a crucian carp, or something like that, and just as she sighed, another black fish approached it, followed by a third fish with brass scales.
Boy! Three of a kind! Luna snickered and put her crossbow flat to aim, waiting for the three of them to be level, Luna pushed forward with her palm and immediately shot the arrow on the string, and the wooden arrow "swished" through the three guys, and before they could struggle, Luna jerked the fishing line and pulled them out of the water, good guys, a water tiger, two giant catfish, it was really drooling. But before it was time for the meal, Luna brought them ashore, picked a large leaf by the roadside, carefully wrapped them in, and filled the stream with a shaved bamboo tube before heading back.
On the way back, she also found a tortoise the size of two palms, and she grabbed the frightened tortoise and put it in her pocket, which would be their food tonight.
Luna returned to the mountain path and came to the place where she was camping, Alice had already woken up, she had set up a campfire, and besides that, there were a few roasted meats around the campfire, which looked like hares, and Alice had gone hunting?
Luna was stunned for a moment, Alice saw her come back, just looked at her coldly, and then continued to grill the meat skewers in her hand, seeing that Luna didn't sit down for a long time, she opened her mouth, "What? Is my charm more delicious than food? ”
"......," Luna said, scratching her head, "that didn't ......"
"Then sit down first." Alice said, lowering her head and continuing to grill the skewers.
Luna gets down and hands Alice the food she has gotten, she tosses a skewer and begins to take care of the fish.
"When did you get up?" Luna asked.
"You haven't been gone long."
"What about the meat?"
"I knew something was going to happen there." As she spoke, Alice's cruelty to the fish grew, "So the food was prepared the day before." ”
"No wonder...... I woke up in my sleep that day...... I just saw you come back......" Luna said, "I thought it was early in the morning, but I didn't expect it to be late at night......"
With a "bang", the stone in Alice's hand slammed open the skull of the big piranha, shattering the fish's teeth fiercely, and blood splashed out at once.
"Let's eat first." Alice added, and I continued eating.
This is the first time Luna has eaten since meeting Draghu Castle.
After eating, the two put out the campfire and went back to the tent, which was very warm, and Alice told Luna to take off her clothes and hang them on the top of the tent to dry. The rush along the way kept her from falling asleep, and just like that, the night passed again.
Luna...... Luna...... Wake up......" At Alice's call, Luna opened her eyes, what time is it? Luna thought and rubbed her sleepy eyes, then sat up and opened a gap in the tent.
Through the gap, she saw that it was not yet dawn, Luna turned her head, and Alice handed her the dress, and Luna draped it over her body, "Why are we up so early?" ”
"To get your stuff back?"
"My stuff?" It was then that Luna, confused, remembered that her weapon was still in the hands of the bastards, and she packed her things faster.
Luna needs the gear, as well as the secrets of the basement there. As they resumed their journey, they quickly noticed a path that winded upwards to the north of the valley. Is there anyone else here who is blazing a trail? Could it be that there are still ancient humans living here? Before Luna could think about it, Alice grabbed her by the hand and pulled her away, and the path stretched in the direction of Dragul, and the two began to climb.
After climbing almost 300 feet, the trail came to an end at a narrow headland. There, a few pieces of rusted steel told them that it had once been a watchtower, and the two looked down through the binoculars left behind from the watchtower, and the soldiers in the same marked armor were stationed directly below them, ready to keep an eye on the Dragu Castle looking east. To the east, we can see the entire castle of Dragul, with its walls and domed towers. Both Alice and Luna scouted, like cameras, looking for any clues they could return to.
Soon, the two discovered a large abandoned radio tower not far below them, with the steel cables of the tower itself connecting directly to the inside of the castle. This is a good opportunity, one, this is the only way to get close to the castle. In both cases, they can send signals to Adeline through some of the remaining signal facilities in the radio tower. However, there was a serious problem of how to get down from their current position to the radio tower: the road was full of jagged black rocks, and even leopards would trip over them; To make matters worse, the distance was completely within view of the castle's main entrance outpost.
Luna looked at the sun, which had just shown its edge, and Alice estimated that it would take them at least half an hour to get there, and at least an hour before they were lucky enough to not be spotted when they were counting the time to climb the tower. And when they go down, they have to pay attention to the rocks on the soles of their feet, etc., because they have a headache when they think about it.
As Luna froze, Alice pulls out two glowing round crystals from her backpack hidden behind her, which are wrapped in wire, but still can't block the light from the inside out.
"What is this?"
"This is the Ark reactor." After Alice finished speaking, she handed one to Luna, "Bringing him to his chest will give you a set of nanoarmor that covers your whole body." ”
Luna took the reactor, she glanced at the side of the reactor, there was a string of "Stark" written on it, Luna didn't care so much and snapped it to her chest, "And what?" Luna asked, and without hesitation, Ellie kicked Luna forward, causing her to fall off a cliff.
This is not good, Luna is back to the time when the bird lost its wings, and when Luna was about to be 200 feet from the bottom of the mountain, she noticed that there was a heat current spreading outward in her chest, and then she found that a red substance had spread around her chest along the reactor, and when she reacted here, the substance had turned into foreign red metal, which enveloped her head, and then Luna pushed her hands down, and she found herself floating in the air, and she looked at her hands and feet, It was spewing flames.
"What is this?" Luna asked, looking at the fiery red armor.
"It's a set of nano armor, and that thing on your chest is its energy core." Alice flew over from the other side and opened the metallic visor and said to Luna, "It was borrowed by a friend of Lucius named Tony Stark. As she spoke, Alice spread out her palm and a beam of light steadily hit the radio tower below, and the radio tower also fell, "This armor can directly contact Aveline, so we don't need that thing." Luna spoke, stunned.
After a few moments, Alice called out to Luna, and after recovering her senses, the two of them closed their armors and flew towards the castle.
