Chapter Seventy-Three: The Mountaintop

Leave behind most of the people who still think they are dreaming. Cheese flew into the sky on a dragon, and from the sky, the land of the county of Sallon was nothing more than an inconspicuous corner of the vast world. Longji Mountain, which was originally a straight-line distance from the starting place, even if it took a week to ride a horse, appeared in front of the line of sight in a blink of an eye. Towering high mountains on the northern border of the world, you can see from the sky, past the Dragon's Back Mountain, and the only thing that lingers north of the Northland is the black clouds that linger and the wind and snow that never seem to stop. The huge mountain of Longji Mountain kept this terrible cold out of the north, and from the south side of the mountain range, the green continued to spread.

Looking at the peaks that were still in the distance, Cheese finally understood why the mountain range was named Dragon's Back Mountain. From a distance, the movement of the entire mountain range does look like a giant dragon lying on the ground, and the highest peak of the mountain range is like its backbone. It is the place where Dragon's Blood Creek originates and the destination of Cheese's trip.

"Hey, Migo, do you see the highest mountain? Where are we going? Using magic to make sure his voice wasn't drowned out by the noisy currents, Cheese said to the dragon he was sitting on.

"Whew, piece of cake. "For most people, if you want to climb to the top of Longji Mountain, as a human being, you have to use a rock pickaxe or other mountaineering equipment, and go through all kinds of hardships and dangers to get to this place alive. But for the dragon, it only takes a gentle flap of the wings to reach the top of the dragon's back, and the height of the peak is far from the highest altitude of the dragon's flight, and these mountains are no different from the peace of these blessed creatures.

After less than an hour, the red dragon had already landed on the commanding heights of Dragonspine Mountain with the gray-robed mage. Cheese whispered a spell as the cold air from the top of the mountain began to warm up around him. This is a spell of natural origin that allows the caster to maintain their body temperature in a hostile environment that is not too extreme. Feeling that his surroundings were no longer as cold as before, the mage slid down the dragon's back. When his feet stepped on the thick white snow at the top of the mountain, it seemed that the whole mountain was welcoming him, and countless white snowflakes danced around the cheese, they were like moons around the huge celestial bodies, flying in an invisible trajectory, the wind could not let them deviate from their orbits, and gravity could not let them fall into the snow.

"You're still so popular with them. Migo lay on his stomach in the snow, as a dragon, though it was not afraid of the low temperatures. But as a young red dragon, just because it can survive doesn't mean it likes the cold. As Migo lay on the snow, the scales on its body began to glow a faint red, and the snow beneath the dragon made a melting sound. It's heating in this way.

Reaching out and caressing the snowflakes fluttering in front of him, Cheese knew that it was the local elf who was playing tricks in it. It's their way of welcoming the life they love. It's just that in most cases, if the elves are loved by ordinary mortals, then he will probably be frozen to death by these hot snowflakes more quickly. Fortunately, the elves' unscrupulous jokes did not hurt the mage, and Cheese was already familiar with the temper of these magical beings in inaccessible places.

"The little guy here told me please don't let the snow melt anymore. Otherwise, there will be an avalanche where we stand. He turned to the dragon. Cheese knew that such cold weather would make Migo uncomfortable, but he didn't want to spend time dealing with avalanches right now.

"Hmph, that's a nuisance. "Not all beings with mystical powers can communicate with elves, and there are complex conditions for this. The first is that they themselves have to be approved by the elves, and as for their approval conditions, it is almost completely irregular. Although dragons are one of the most powerful creatures in the world, and they are born with magical powers, that doesn't mean they're more likely to be loved by elves. In fact, from what has been done, it seems that the elves prefer mortals who are not accessible to them themselves. It's just that their affection may seem more like a terrible curse to those ordinary people.

Seeing that the red light on Migo's body was gradually extinguished, Cheese turned his head and continued to focus on communicating with the elves, he needed to find the source of the Dragon's Blood Creek from these local little ones. It is very difficult to ask the spirits of nature for directions, because these strange beings do not have the same sense of space and time as ordinary creatures, and because there is no such thing as language, they cannot even describe those things in nature. Mages or druids of the natural school often spend a lot of time practicing and figuring out if they want to communicate with these elves. Even then, most of what they get is information that is so vague that it can't be more vague. But since Cheese can easily know what the elves have said before, it can be seen that he has his own way of communicating with them.

"Okay, found it. Retract your outstretched hand. A brief exchange with these elves was enough for the mage to get what he wanted to know.

"If you find it, go and go, I'll wait here for you to come back after running errands." The dragon looked up at the mage, and in this weather it could move less, not more. And it's not at all curious about why the mage is here, what he's doing here. It's just doing the mage's orders.

Under normal circumstances, Cheese does not force Migo to follow him when he can do things on his own. After all, no matter how casual he behaved, Migo was a giant dragon after all, just like Cheese said to the others when he was in the deserted village, if he didn't have a contract in hand, he really wouldn't be able to beat this red dragon. But this time, it's clear that this time it's not that simple. Cheese said with a wicked smile on his lips.

"Maybe you don't know much, but I came to the source of Dragon's Blood Creek this time to spread the antidote to a plague. And I'm obviously not stupid enough to come here with materials that can block the river. So, my dear Migo, what do you think I'm going to do?"

The dragon's reaction was not slow, especially since it had been tricked by cheese many times after partnering with the mage, so as soon as it heard the mage's tone, it knew that it would definitely not be good to be summoned this time. As for the question asked by the mage, although Migo's knowledge of potions was far less than that of a professionally trained mage, he was not ignorant. There are many ways to formulate higher concentrations of chemicals with limited materials, but combined with the current situation, the last thing it wants to accept has emerged.

"In order to increase the concentration of the agent, the best way to improve the quality of the base solution of the agent is to improve the quality of the base solution in the case of limited raw materials. In other words, it is the solvent that uses a liquid with magical power to make a potion. Speaking of which, did you know Migo, this mountain is called Dragon's Back Mountain by the people here. That's why the river that originates from this mountain happens to be called Dragon's Blood Creek. The name gave me a good inspiration when I couldn't figure it out. The dragon's blood is one of the best magic solutions in the world. You're not an adult, but you're a pure-blooded dragon......"

Without the mage finishing, the red dragon was sure that the worst answer it had come up with had come true. Migo instinctively wanted to get up and run away, as long as he flew a certain distance away from the mage, he couldn't force himself to do what he didn't want to do. But alas, since Cheese would tell the dragon the answer, he had already prepared for it. Feeling the strong restraint on the ground, the dragon opened his mouth and cursed.

"You despicable monkey! How can I have a master like you! You're not human!"

"Okay, okay, no one here can help you, even if you shout too loudly. Isn't it just to borrow some blood from you, and it doesn't want your life. The mage said horrible words lightly, and the mage had a playful expression on his face.

"It hurts to take blood!" The dragon's screams resounded through the sky on the top of the towering Dragon's Back Mountain. Unfortunately, with the help of the elves, the white snow curtain blocked the sound from the top of the mountain, and could not be transmitted to distant places.
