Chapter 5: Crossing the Hands of the Grim Reaper

"Don't move me." Alice whispered to me as I struggled to break free from her restraints on me.

"That's still a kid." I retorted to her, "We have to save him!" ”

"Do you want to go over and die?"

"Give me less." I pushed Alice away, got up from the water, and was about to run towards the three men, when Alice grabbed my feet and pulled me back with all the force, pulling me back to my side.

But the sound of the splash attracted the attention of the three soldiers, and the one in the middle shouted, "Who's where!" ”

Alice covered my mouth to prevent me from making a sound, and she groped for the underwater stones, and threw them diagonally into the aisle, the sound again attracting the attention of the three soldiers, and the man in the middle couldn't help but say, "You two show me there!" ”

"Why us again!" The two soldiers, though a little dissatisfied, turned on the other candlelight and walked over, which apparently made me realize that the soldier in the middle should have a greater rank than the other two. As the two soldiers approached where the stone fell, they drew the Overseer sword at their waists and moved slowly.

Once at the location, they took a closer look at the ground and replied loudly, 'Nothing out of the ordinary, presumably rats in the gutter.' ’

"Find me again!" The soldier in the middle said.

"Well, really." After saying that, the two began to explore around, and they walked in our direction......

"That's not right...... Alice whispered, and we tensed as we listened to the approaching footsteps, and though we were getting closer, we kept our composure. Alice stayed on the two men for a moment, and I fixed my eyes on the lone soldier in the distance.

The soldier walked up to the little boy, who was calm at first, then grinned, revealing more blackened teeth, and the scene was like that of the little fish: the big fish was about to eat it. He put his hand on the boy's chin, then lifted him up and said, "Come, let Uncle look into your eyes......" He laughed viciously, then took a sharp blade from his belt and aimed it at the boy's eyes.

I twitched desperately, but Alice still held me down so hard that through the mask's brainwave sensing system, she told me, "Don't move, calm down, we can't do anything!" ”

"But we can't watch that kid die like this!" I responded.

"Have you beaten three people?" Alice said, "If you can beat it, I'll let you go." ”

"I believe my equipment can do it!"

Alice was silent for a few minutes, then let go of me, "Then you go!" ”

I slammed to my feet, and there was a "whoosh" sound, and the three of them looked at each other in unison, their expressions of surprise, but then they laughed again.

"Lift your head up for me and look ahead, those three people are coming." I looked up and saw the three men walking towards me.

"Almost." I responded to Mira, then lifted my chin and looked at the other person as I crossed my arms over my chest while bringing my right hand closer to the hilt of the sword at my waist.

The soldier in the middle saw my actions and waved his hand, "Give it to me!" With that, his two lackeys immediately pounced on me. The two men reached for the attachment at their waists, and I stepped back to the side, drew my sword, and waved it at the man in front of me, and they immediately stopped.

I realized that a vicious battle was about to begin.

"Oops." The soldier in the middle said. Then the two of them laughed out loud, which made me panic a little. When I was a little overwhelmed, the soldier in the middle pulled his sword from his coat and from his waist, and one of the two soldiers next to him stopped laughing, and the maglev oil lamp followed his steps.

I tried to push him back with my sword, but I wasn't firm enough, and they got closer.

"Hurry up, stupid!" Alice urged, and then I stabbed my sword forward hard, I wanted to slash his face as a warning, but this time my sword missed.

"It seems that you have been practicing swordsmanship a lot."

I panicked at the three soldiers in front of me, perhaps because of my unfamiliar skills, perhaps because of the shadow of the Mira incident, or both.

I kept spinning the sword in my hand, trying to distract the other person with my dazzling sword skills. The soldier commander spread his hands and smiled. He saw that I was just bluffing, and I stared at him, spinning the sword in my hand constantly, ignoring the obstacles behind me.

Suddenly, I felt my ankle trip over a rock, and then I lost my balance. The next moment, I fell to the ground.

"Sir." I said, hoping that my despair would penetrate the obscuration of alcohol and reach their ears, but their eyes were glazed and their faces were filled with wine. The next second, I screamed in pain as the root of a boot stepped on the back of my hand and crushed hard, forcing me to release the hilt of my sword.

The other kick kicked away my beloved sword, and I rolled over and tried to get up, but a pair of hands grabbed me and pulled me up. My desperate gaze retreated to where Alice was lying on her stomach, to the two men who were walking towards me, and then to my sword of love, which had been kicked aside.

I struggled as the captain stood in front of me, waving his sword in one hand and removing my mask with the other.

When he saw my true face, he smiled grimly, his teeth still chewing on his pipe. At this moment, I felt a cold wind blowing behind me.

Everything happened so fast, I was still holding my sword to the other side, but in the blink of an eye, I was dragged to the corner: it was just me and the three soldiers.

They pushed me to the ground, and I yelled and tried to put on a brave face, but what I thought to myself was: what a stupid, childish, arrogant little girl.

What exactly was I thinking?

The sewer led to the land outside, and there were almost no people, and the Captain Soldier appeared in front of me, one of his men grabbing me by the shoulders roughly, and the other pulling the boy over to me. The boy was young, with blonde hair and shabby clothes, and judging by the way he was dressed, he seemed to be a young scavenger, and her eyes were full of fear, but what he said was completely muffled by my screams and shouts.

The soldier lifted me aside, then lifted me up with my back to her, and he held me down on the shoulder. I felt my pants being pulled down.

I felt something was wrong, and immediately bent my knee and slammed it back, forcing him to step back and curse at the same time. I used inertia to turn around, causing him to lose his balance and fall to the ground with me.

Seeing us, the soldier laughed, and another soldier hurriedly came over and kicked me in the stomach, and then laughed, and through their laughter, I heard the boy sob. I was weak and they crouched down, ready to unbutton my shirt. I understand that if they do unravel, something bad will happen to me.

The god of luck was still attached to me, and at that moment, by the means of space, a throwing knife slashed through the air and stabbed hard into the neck of one of the soldiers who knew my clothes.

The soldier grunted and fell to the ground with blood foaming at the corners of his mouth.

"Who is it?" Another soldier stood up with a scream.

Not far from us, Alice was standing there.

'Is she crazy!' I thought to myself," Alice ......," I opened my mouth, but the guard who pulled my pants immediately covered my mouth and silenced me. I struggled to bite him, but in vain.

The soldier commander looked at us: I was bound by the soldier's waist and covered my mouth; the panicked blonde boy who was pinned to the ground; And a soldier who raised his head and waited for instructions. The soldier raised a finger and made a gesture not to wipe his neck, he wanted to live.

I struggled harder, yelling at the hand covering my mouth, ignoring the pressure exerted by his elbows and knees. I only hope Alice escapes, and I hope I do.

Another soldier saw the girl, and then silently drew his sword and approached Alice. I saw the boy next to me, he wasn't covered in the mouth. Shout it out, I reminded him. I wanted to scream, but I couldn't make a sound, so I could only try to bite the sweaty hand that was covering my mouth. We looked at each other for a moment, and I tried to urge him with my gaze: I blinked, my eyes widened, and then I turned my gaze to Alice, where danger was imminent.

The boy was so scared that he didn't dare to scream or make any moves, and as for Alice, if she was caught, it would be better, maybe we would be 'loved' by these three for a while, and then sold to a shop in some red light district...... Well, I'd rather be on the ground than that.

The soldier approached Alice, and he raised the hilt of his sword, ready to smash Alice's head. I closed my eyes, but then things changed: Alice ducked her head sideways, dodging his attack, much faster than I had expected, her sword in her hand.

The sword flashed, and the blade saw blood, and she cut off the soldier's head, and the crimson blood mist immediately sprinkled onto the surrounding walls.

The blade slashed through Death's hands again, and Alice stood in front of us.
