Chapter XVII: The Death of the Boar King
Within a month, Hera was back in Santoni with the two of them. The Aegean Sea had now turned into a noisy sea, and Hippolyta underestimated the speed of events in this rich town.
The secretly assembled men were now stationed on the outskirts of Santoniri, where there was a huge barracks of about a thousand men, and Mantos paid mercenaries a considerable salary, and mercenaries were constantly coming from the provinces. On the other side of the sea, the Mantos family's funds smashed a fleet of about fifteen ships, and six small ships were about to be launched.
"Heavenly ...... Needless to say, I know what this guy is going to do? Hippolyta said.
"Looks like this guy knows you're still alive." Hera said.
"Do you have any plans for dealing with them?" Hippolyta asked.
"We can turn to Cronia for help," Silea said.
"It's too late, their army has to come from the Amazon border, and I'm afraid it'll be too late. Who can not see that Mantos is in a hurry," said Hippolyta.
"I have an idea...... Hera muttered to herself.
"What?"
“*。”
“*?” Hippolyta asked.
"Small*, but powerful enough, say, to sink a warship or blow up a barracks."
"Well, if that'......," said Hera, "then what materials do you need?" ”
"Sulfur, charcoal, and saltpeter, and thin iron sheets." Hera said, "Also, I need a small studio and a furnace. ”
They searched for a while, but luckily Captain Neptune's ship was still moored at the docks. He waved warmly to them.
"It's a pleasure to see you again." Neptune said, "Did you hear the noise in the Silver Fox Hotel that night?" ”
Hera didn't pay attention to his words, and she told the captain that she needed some materials and space.
"Well, I know someone might be able to help." Neptune said.
"When are you going back to Amazon?" Celea asked.
"About two or three days, what's wrong?"
"I'll tell you later."
"Can you get what we want ready as soon as possible?" Hera asked.
"No problem!" Neptune did what he said, and in a few hours they were ready, and Hera immediately began to prepare.
"How much time do you have?" Hippolyta asked.
"About half a day." Hera looked at the materials in front of her and said, "I can make thirty of these, or thirty-one*, fifteen each." ”
"No, ten each," Syrea corrected.
"No, fifteen each." Hera explained, "You and Hippolyta each have fifteen, don't count mine, I'll only prepare the corresponding *." ”
Half a day later, Hera had the * ready. Each one is about the size of a grapefruit, wrapped in a tin sheet, and has a handle on top.
"How does this work?"
Hera smiled proudly. "You pull this handle...... In fact, it is leverage...... Then count to three and throw it towards your goal. Each * has the destructive power to kill twenty people, and as long as the location is well chosen, one* can blow up the battleship to the point of immobility, and if you are lucky, it can even be blown up. ”
"Oh," Celea nodded.
"Remember, count to three and throw it out. Otherwise, you'll just wait to be blown up! Hera stood up, "Now it's time to say goodbye." Good luck. ”
"And what about your weapons?" Hippolyta asked.
Hera picked up the quiver beside her, and they could clearly see that each arrow had been replaced with a black ball, and in front of the black ball was a red dot, "I'll use this." ”
"What is this?"
"It's a blasting arrow," Hera said with a laugh, "a blueprint from my father." ”
Celestia and Hippolyta looked at each other, "Thank you, my friend. Hippolyta said.
"It's nothing."
"It's good that you're our friend." Hippolyta said, "If it were the men of Nessus, we would be finished." ”
"Then let's go." Hera said.
Hera carried the quiver on her back and led the two out of the room, and Hippolyta and Celea carefully divided the * into two parts and put them in the sackcloth bag.
"You two go to the barracks," said Hera, "and I'll go to the docks." ”
Hippolyta and Celea nodded solemnly.
"When we're done, we'll meet at the corner of the Silver Fox Hotel." Hera said, "I think Mantos will use that as a headquarters, and if there's chaos down there, he's going to get there and get back in order with his core, and we're going to catch a turtle in an urn before they run away." ”
"Man, I trust your instincts." Hippolyta grinned.
"A megalomaniac like Mantos wouldn't think of changing the location of the lair," Hera said, "and it's much more modest than a palace or something. ”
"Good luck, friend."
"Each other, each other."
The three of them shook hands and said goodbye, and then went their separate ways to carry out their tasks.
Hera decided to go to the troop carrier first, and she followed the flow of people to the harbor and found her first target at the dockyard. She took out an arrow, forced the feeling of unease in her heart, nervously pulled the bowstring, and when she counted to three, she released the bowstring.
With a "whoosh" through the air, the bow and arrow hit the troop carrier accurately, and the top * "clang" hit the middle of the hull, and then fell into the water, for a moment Hera felt that time stood still, and just as she wondered if the mission was about to fail, suddenly, the bottom of the troop carrier exploded violently, the mast was blown to pieces, and the pieces of wood were blown into the air.
Taking advantage of the confusion caused by the explosion, Hera quickly searched for the next target along the dock, and she saw several ships with * exploding not far away, Herrara's large bowstring, and shot the side of the ship, the explosion was so powerful that the explosion even affected the adjacent ships on both sides.
Hera managed to destroy twelve ships, but the battle was much more than that, and the confusion and panic caused by the explosion was also of great value, and in the distance, she heard the "rumble" of the explosion on the other side, followed by the shouts of people, and it seemed that they were not bad.
Hera was on her way to the rendezvous, but at the moment she was worried about the safety of another person, and that was Hephaestus.
The whole of Santoni exploded, but Hera was still in ten minutes at the corner of the rendezvous with the crowd, and Hippolyta and Celea were not there. But after a while he came, a little embarrassed, and his face blackened.
"Success?" Hera
"I've never seen such a big battle!" Hippolyta said, "The survivors ran out of town with their lives, and I guess they will not dare to go into battle with a sword for the rest of their lives." ”
"Beautiful!" Hera said, "But we still have something to do." ”
The three of them walked down the narrow alley to the silver fox's closed door, and then quietly climbed to the roof.
The inn is only one floor, but it is much larger than it looks at the door. There was a skylight open at the top near the top of the slope, and they walked over and looked cautiously into it from the side.
This was not the room where they had been attacked, but there were two people in it: an officer standing at a table, and the other sitting across from him, none other than Ermantos, the boar king. He was very strong, full of muscles, and at the moment he was pale and furious.
"Solon! They've ruined my plans again! Mantos yelled, "Why do you let me down every time!" ”
"Your Excellency, I ......" Solon looked like a lost dog.
"We must catch that damn Hippolyta!"
"I'll help you, as always." Solon said, "I beg you to let me go with you." ”
Mantos' mouth curled in a wicked arc, "Not necessarily. ”
"Master, all my people are dead." Solon roared, "I've done everything I could!" ”
"And then failed!"
The color of blood disappeared from Solon's face, "I have served faithfully for so many years, and in the end all I can get in return?" ”
"You shitty dog, get out of my sight. Get out of here! Find a random gutter and give me a damn! Mantos roared.
Solon roared and rushed to Mantos, only to be slapped to the ground by Mantos' huge hand.
"How dare you disobey your master's orders," said Mantos viciously, and then came up with an axe beside him, and he raised it, and was about to turn it down, but he failed.
With lightning speed, Solon pulled a pistol from his belt and shot Mantos in the head, causing Mantos to fall to the table with a slap on the right side of his face.
Solon jumped from his chair to the back, dodging the splatters of blood.
The three men on the roof retreated, but listened to the movement below, ready to jump off the roof and grab the two people below from the front door. Celea, on the other hand, leaned forward to observe this critical moment. His foot accidentally kicked off a piece of tile, which immediately alarmed Solon.
Solon looked up and drew his second pistol, but before Syrea could retract, Solon opened fire. Hippolyta shoved Celea away, and then she was shot in the shoulder, her collarbone was broken, and Solon fled as quickly as possible.
Hera didn't bother to chase after Solon, but it wasn't a good thing that their enemies were dead and their companions were wounded.
Celea apologized to Hippolyta, and Hera didn't say a word and carried her off the roof, at least she could walk now.
Walking out into the street, Hera stopped a way, and in the confusion, Hera had to hold on to the other party.
"I'm looking for a doctor," Hera said anxiously, "where is the doctor?" ”
"Now everybody's going to find a doctor!" The man replied.
Hera shook Hippolyta's shoulder. "My friend is seriously injured! Where are the doctors now? Tell me! ”
"Let me go!" The man scolded, "The doctor's office is on the street in front, and there is a sign at the entrance of the alley. With that, Hera let go of her hand, and the man ran away.
Hera helped the crumbling Hippolyta to the hospital, took out his scarf from his coat and tried to bandage the wound as much as possible, Hippolyta had lost too much blood,
Seeing Hippolyta like this, the doctor hurriedly asked him to sit in a chair, took out a bottle of alcohol and a few pieces of gauze, and began to prepare to clean the wound.
"It's a good thing," the doctor explained to the two, "so at least I don't have to dig out the bullet." The wound is clean, but I need to reset my collarbone, so you won't be traveling lately, right? ”
Hera and Celea glanced at each other.
"I'm sorry, I'm dragging my feet again." Hippolyta squeezed out a smile.
"Shut up and don't talk." Syrea said.
"Go ahead, go and see Mantos' corpse." Hippolyta gritted her teeth and said, "I'm fine. ”
"I can take care of him for you, I happen to have a small ward here." The doctor said, "When she recovers, I'll let her go to you." ”
"How long?"
"Maybe two weeks, maybe longer."
"Syreas, you shed it too." Hera winked, and Syrea understood.
"See you in our village." Hippolyta said, "Remember to go to the basement of the Silver Fox Inn to get that armor, Hephaestus has already made it." ”
"Done?" Hera asked, "What about the others?" ”
"He fled," said Hippolyta, and with a trembling elbow taking a note from her waist, "this is the address there." ”
"Okay then." Hera replied, and untied her belt, "I heard that this belt is a relic of your father, and its function is to heal wounds quickly on the battlefield and maintain immortality. With that, she handed the belt to Celea beside her, "Tie it to her then." ”
"And what do you do?" Hippolyta asked.
"Don't worry, I have golden apples." Hera pointed to the mark of the apple on her chest, "Take care, friend." ”
"Kill him for me," Hippolyta said, and then fainted.
Hera nodded at Silea, then turned and walked towards the door.
