17. The return of evil
ββ¦β¦ My name is Jackson Norris, and today is going to be the biggest day of my career, I'm going to be interviewing one of America's most horrible and ridiculous criminals, who the whole world thought was the terrorist known as 'Mandarin', and now, who is said to be nothing more than an actor, the subject has so far been vague and apparently unaware of the point of my interview, in fact, he seems to be unaware of anything but his growing fame. β
"Now that the whole world knows his name, this is my last chance to see through his lies and excuses, and confront his past to uncover the truth. Because we need to know, once and for all, who Trevor Slatri really is. β
Jackson set up his tripod, turned on his Sony camera, and sat down in his chair, waiting for the actor who played the leader of the Ten Rings to arrive.
He was on ABC television and had come to interview Trevor Slattery, an obscure third-rate actor who became a household name for his role as a notorious terrorist leader.
After waiting less than twenty minutes, Trevor in a yellow prison uniform walked into his private cell, which was treated with special treatment because of his whistleblowing behavior, a large, clean cell, decorated like an actor's dressing room, and a mandarin costume on the wall, compared to the presidential suite.
The short, lanky old man was followed by a tall, burly black man named Herman, a loyal Trevor fan and butler, who was responsible for keeping him safe, as well as fetching food and water, and cleaning up.
What is surprising is that after this third-rate actor was imprisoned, with his outstanding eloquence and tricky skills, he really fooled many people, and did not end up being bullied, but on the contrary, he lived a very nourishing life and was sheltered by the black gangs inside the prison.
"Get ready and go." Jackson looked up at the time, and there were four prison guards sitting at the gate behind him.
Even after almost a month since the president's death, the Ten Rings and Mandalin are still the talk of Trevor Slattery, the down-and-out actor who plays the terrorist, and the dead tech upstart, and the Clarion Daily has a special section about Aldridge Killian's twisted and tragic life.
Killian, who plotted to assassinate the president and foster a terrorist organization, portrayed as a poor man who was discriminated against and bullied as a teenager, who had an unspeakable obsession with Tony Stark, and later embarked on the road of crime because of psychological problems.
"Let me do a vocal practice first, which is an old habit of stage performances in the past." Trevor twisted his waist and made strange noises like a clown.
"In the beginning, you would never have thought you would end up like this." Jackson looked at the old man screaming with contempt in his eyes.
Before the truth was revealed, who would have thought that the leader of the Ten Rings Gang was such a hippie smiling old man, and he couldn't see the terrifying and gloomy majesty in the video from the other party's body.
"A lot of people want to know a little bit about you behind the video, the real Trevor Slattery. You know there are a lot of rumors and tabloid revelations on the internet, and nothing of them is about you personally. β
Jackson looked at the old man sitting across from him, touching his beard, and a hint of coldness flashed in his eyes.
"I think it's better for the actors to maintain some mystery, otherwise it will affect the audience's perception."
Trevor didn't care, he lived in his own spiritual world, and the failed acting career in the first half of his life made this down-and-out third-rate actor suffer from drug addiction and alcoholism, and was later discovered by Killian and placed on the stage to become a puppet.
If it weren't for the fact that he still had a little conscience in his heart, and realized that he was useless, he might be treated as an outcast by Killian, and he told Tony Stark everything he knew in time.
This also allowed Trevor to enjoy special treatment from being thrown into a dark cell or bullied by a prison bully.
"You seem to boil down your life to a series of missed opportunities, and you're not willing to take responsibility for any of them."
In the next ten minutes or so of Jackson's interview, Trevor was as vague as ever, and he looked like a cunning old liar who didn't show the slightest flaw.
"Do you know that your performance might anger some people? For example, the Ten Rings Gang. β
"That's all fake, there's no Mandarin, and there's no Ten Rings!" Trevor didn't hesitate to explode foul.
Jackson stood up, took off his brown suit, and pressed his fingers on the camera, and the internal components turned and assembled to form a pocket-sized pistol.
"Maybe you don't know that the Ten Rings Gang and Mandarin are actually real, and it would be more correct to say that it should be Manchu." The young reporter looked at Trevor and Chinese said, "He's a warlike king, a descendant of Genghis Khan, who is said to have founded the Ten Commandments in the Middle Ages, perhaps going back even further......"
"Who the cares, man! Because of my performance, it's not Mandarin that people will remember, but the name β Trevor Slatry. β
Trevor poses for the camera, like an old rascal, he doesn't care about Mandarin and the Ten Rings.
"Maybe you're right, but soon you'll be in pain, and every ring we believe in will leave a hole in you."
Jackson's eyes froze, and the pocket pistol hidden inside the Sony camera shot out, and he held it with great speed, firing four shots in succession, killing the guards on guard. A stout black man named Herman rushed up and was knocked to the ground by the slinger he pulled out of his tripod.
"The target is captured, it is in place, and the evacuation team is moving." Jackson raised his hand and said to the miniature communication device on his watch.
He picked up the guard's pistol and pointed it at Trevor, who was lying under the table, his bare arm tattooed with the emblem of the Ten Ringsβten rings in a circle, two of which were crossed by a cutlastion.
"Don't worry, I'm not here to kill you, although I do want to make ten holes in you, because you insulted the honorable Man." Jackson's eyes were cold, "You took his name out of his way, and I'd love to help him get it back." β
"But Lord Manchu needs a stand-in, so you can keep alive and get on with your work, Mr. Terratley."
Jackson put down his gun, and a riot broke out inside the cell, the sirens sounded like buzzes, the sound of dense firefights was faintly heard, and the intense fire exploded, like heavily armed terrorists storming the prison.
"Now, I'm going to take you to meet the real Manchurian."
