Chapter 8: The Night of Destiny 3

Able looked at the view of the caravan camp, but his mind was not on the swaying branches or the chirping of the birds on them ready to enter the night. Pen @ fun @ pavilion wWw. biqUgE怂 ļ½‰ļ½Žļ½†ļ½

Krell saw that Ebner had been tirelessly surrounding the camp for a day, and finally went up to ask a question.

"What are you doing, it's better not to summon spirits again. ā€

Ebner hadn't stopped what he was doing, he was mixing something.

"Clinos said to keep you safe, and keeping you safe is what I'm doing right now. ā€

"Are you making enchantments or something?" asked Krel, not really caring what it was. As long as it can guarantee its caravan to spend the evening.

"I wouldn't call it my job so simply, there are now eight types of enchantments applied around the camp. I'm using folk sorcery for extra protection right now, and I'd appreciate it if you could get me the dirt from the grave now. ā€

"Will it work?"

"Witchcraft is not usually used by mages, only witches and priests study it. As long as there are materials, no matter how strong witchcraft is, it can be used by ordinary people. But usually the materials for witchcraft rituals are complex and scarce, and the wealthy who can afford to pay for this expense might as well learn some orthodox magic. ā€

"Will your enchantment work, then?" Krell asked.

"Even if the opponent uses siege vehicles, this barrier can resist for a while. And it can't be seen from the outside, and the barrier hides the camp, making the enemy lose their sense of direction when they are nearby. If you're worried about the spirits, rest assured that the spirits will be banished from the barrier. "Ebner did not realize that Mr. Krell was already furious.

"Are you saying we're safe?"

"I didn't say that, I still didn't know what to face. Evil forces out there are roaming in the darkness, and it is doubtful that these defenses will be vulnerable if they are attacked by it. ā€

Ebner was still busy with what he was doing.

"Are you kidding me?"

"I don't think so, sir. Ebna interjected, "I need salt, the more the better." ā€

Krell felt insulted, and the fire had not been sent out for many days, and now the grumpy merchant was as dangerous and flammable as a bomb.

"I'm not supposed to take you two mages with me in Kanta and open my mouth to say something big and profound. But it didn't help at the last bit!"

"I'm helping you set up an enchantment. Abner said.

"Don't you feel it, I'm angry right now!"

"Oh. Ebner stopped his utensils and said, "Mr. Kreel, if you're angry, you'd better say it directly." So that I can give you some comfort and the right attitude, and there is no need to say something disheartening. I know the situation is not so rosy right now, but what is there that we can't solve with calm conversation and our own wisdom?"

Krel's face was flushed with anger, and his mouth was eager to try and prepare for a shopping fight. But when he heard Ebner say this, and he understood it with his own reason, he couldn't remember what he was going to scold for a while.

Snake and Klinos were watching the camp go on and the sight made Snake laugh out loud, probably no one had ever heard a demon laugh like that anymore.

"This must be the happiest thing for me besides extinguishing the fire of hell. After Snake finished speaking, he snickered again: "I dare say that none of the king's courtiers are so funny." ā€

"Something suddenly occurred to me. Klinus said, "Snake, you can be a beauty, right?"

"Well, that's right. Snake said.

"I think I've never been married in my life. Why don't you become a beauty and I bang all night?"

"I always like to meet the needs of my customers. Snake said, "If only you pay me for your work, like your soul, or your friend's." ā€

"Forget it, my soul is still going to save those mortals from fire and water. ā€

"I can think of it as a giveaway for our trade, doesn't it sound very attractive. ā€

"Oh, the add-on giveaway. Klinos pretended to think for a moment: "I've always hated this kind of sales, after all, it's cheap and not good." ā€

"Your loss. Snake added, "But it looks like your plan isn't working, and the spirits are locked up outside the barrier." Even if it had some plan to kill me, it probably wouldn't come to fruition. ā€

Klinos stared intently at the picture: "I'm starting to get hungry, oh my God." I didn't eat anything but breakfast, do you have anything to eat?"

"Let me see how long your pantomime can be performed. "The night is coming," said Snake, "so be prepared to wait and see these people drown in their desires." ā€

"Ah, look what I found. A piece of dry food, there is nothing more refreshing than having enough to eat before you die. ā€

The last glimmer of the sun faded into the west, and the faint light in the sky finally faded into the shadows.

The caravan's camp began to feel the evil in Gerdo, and the presence of stars was not visible in the night sky. The woods beyond the barrier were hollow and dark, as if they were hungry for all the life that came into them.

"Something happened. "The sky seems to be obscured by something, and we should say that we are surrounded by darkness." ā€

"How do you know it's not bad weather from a rain cloud?" said Abel, sitting unhappily beside the fire. It seems that the light of the fire has dimmed a lot because of the fall of the night, otherwise Abel would definitely not choose to be so close to the fire.

"If there is a rain cloud, I will smell it a few hours before it arrives. "That's what my nose was built for." ā€

Abner had been anxiously checking the loopholes in the barrier, and he hadn't stopped until now.

Abel thought back to today's events and said, "Do you think Ebner and Klinos are bad guys?"

"Don't talk to me, okay, I don't have time to talk to you right now. ā€

Clinos said that something had to be discussed to come to an answer. So I want to ask, are they bad people? because you all hate what they do, just because they help a poor person. ā€

"Isn't today's incident enough for me to worry about? ā€

"All you do is walk around, and Ebner is the real problem all the time. ā€

"Don't forget that it's because of them that we're in this trouble!"

But if we hadn't been involved, the spirit might never have waited for help. ā€

"I don't care about spirits, I don't care about asking for help! This thing has broken into my life and messed up everything. And I'm still worried about whether we're going to survive tonight!"

The darkness grew with Krel's rage, making the light from the flames even fainter.

"You don't care about spirits, just as you don't care if the spirits will sing in the starlight, or if God and the Holy Spirit will help us in the dark. You don't care about anything other than gold, do you? Abel said as he looked at Krell with brown eyes.

"If God really existed, I wouldn't have led a caravan here for 20 years, and in the end I would only be treated like a nobleman carrying shoes!" said Krell angrily.

"Maybe it's because you don't believe in God, so give you a lesson. ā€

"Look at the whole caravan, the oldest one has been with me for 16 years!" Crel shouted at the top of his voice, "They all believe that God will listen to their laments in the dead of night." These poor people prayed to the empty heaven, over and over again! And after that, no blessing came down from heaven! No oracle entered the dream! I don't regret it at all, because I never expected any help from God, so I don't have the disappointment of these people! If God really exists, then he is also a cruel bystander, enjoying the suffering and tragedy of the world!"

Krell slammed to his feet and yelled, "Do you hear that, you are a tyrannical tyrant, a clown hiding behind the curtain! I curse you! curse your infinite power to rot in the gutter of maggots!"

The shadows once again swallowed up a portion of the fire's glow, bringing with it a cold and inexplicable fear. Krell and Abel shuddered as they sat near the fire, which brought Krel's attention back to the danger at hand.
