Chapter 250: The Parchment Scroll

Grandma's yin-yang shop finally stayed, and Uncle Shi said that sooner or later I would return here one day and inherit my grandmother's mantle here.

When cleaning up the house next, Uncle Shi took out a dark brown "handkerchief" from a lotus-shaped futon, and the whole person immediately shouted excitedly: "Senior sister, I found it!" ”

"That's good—little evil! Your uncle and I brought you to the house left by your grandmother, and for another purpose, that is, to find out this book for you according to your grandmother's will ten years ago. ”

Book? Books again? My mind instantly remembered the two ancient books that my grandmother had dug up from a grave in the woods on the western outskirts of Kofun Village in the middle of the night a month or two ago.

I took the brown handkerchief from my uncle's hand, it was just a brown square cloth slightly larger than an ordinary handkerchief, why did they call it a book?

Touching it in your hand, it feels soft, and it is clearly made of some kind of animal skin.

I know that in ancient times, especially before the Tang and Song dynasties, many secret and precious information was written or embroidered and recorded on animal skins. In ancient and modern times, the most common is the parchment, which is more common in Europe and Western Asia.

Speaking of the parchment, I can't help but want to say a few more words.

As I said before, when I was in high school, I was crazy about history.

The so-called history actually includes the official history and the wild history, and I prefer the wild history.

How so? I think the wild history is actually more reliable than the official history. The official history is actually the history of the victors, which is basically left by the authorities, which is a bit of a "princess selling melons and boasting". Ye Shi is mostly described by the people, and there is no need to be sycophant and reverse right and wrong.

When I was in high school, I also specialized in parchment rolls.

Parchment rolls, as the name suggests, are the most primitive books made of parchment or lambskin paper, also known as parchment manuscripts. Invented by the Pergamnesians of the ancient Middle East.

The parchment is a translation of the Latin word "Pergamum".

Legend has it that during the time of Emenes II (197~159 BC) of the Pergamon Empire, the Pergamumians were forced to invent parchment due to the cessation of the supply of papyrus by the Egyptians. Parchment paper is made from the thin skins of sheep, goats, and antelopes.

The lambskin paper that appeared later was refined from the skin of calves or other animals and had a better texture than parchment. Western scholars believe that parchment was produced around the 8th century BC. The earliest known parchment scroll is the Persian Ancient Scripture, which was written in the 6th ~ 4th centuries BC.

The book has 21 volumes and about 350,000 words. The parchment was originally in the form of a scroll. In the 2nd ~ 4th centuries AD, it gradually evolved into a book type. Because it was more durable and preserved than papyrus scrolls, it eventually replaced papyrus scrolls as the standard form of manuscripts in the 4th century.

From the mid-15th century onwards, it was replaced by printed books made of paper, and there are still very few parchments for special purposes in modern times.

Uncle Shi patted me on the shoulder and whispered, "Lowercase! This is what our Qingyun Sect ancestor left behind, and it was also left to you by your grandmother ten years ago. ”

Uncle Shi then said, "Yes! If you want to inherit the divination technique of the Qingyun Sect, you must first have excellent quality yourself - your experience during this time has made you invisibly stronger, and it is time to give you this book. ”

I opened the brown handkerchief and saw that it was embroidered with strange symbols—I didn't know any of them.

Master Mingyue seemed to see my thoughts, and said with a smile: "This is an ancient Taoist symbol, I will teach you these two days!" ”

We changed the lock that day and headed back to Giethoorn Mountain.

Over the next two days, Uncle and Uncle worked around the clock to help me decipher the strange symbols on the parchment scroll.

Strange to say, I originally only had a good memory, but this time not only did I quickly remember all the deciphered words, but there seemed to be an "analyzer" hidden in my brain that allowed me to understand the contents in an instant.

To put it simply, a small sheepskin handkerchief records several common divination methods in ancient times:

Record 1: Four Pillars and Eight Characters

The four pillars and eight characters are also known as "Ziping Shu", and the eight characters of the sexagenary branch found out from the calendar are used to represent the year, month, day, and hour of the person's birth, which together are eight characters. According to the theories of the Ganzhi calendar and the five elements of yin and yang, it is speculated on people's careers, marriages, financial fortunes, studies, health, etc.

The main concept of the Four Pillars and Eight Characters is fate, or fate. In short, the permutations and combinations of the sexagenary branches (i.e., the eight characters) in the year and month of a person's birth are fate. However, with only the eight heavenly and terrestrial branches, it is impossible to calculate the expensive, cheap, auspicious, and vicious. Therefore, it is matched with the five elements of yin and yang, so that the heavenly and terrestrial branches have the attributes of the five elements of yin and yang, and have a relationship of mutual growth and mutual restraint. And it derives a variety of relationships such as punishment, rush, harm, and cooperation. The relationship between Shengke and Ke is also known as the positive seal, partial seal, wounded official, food god, righteous official, partial official, positive wealth, partial wealth, side by side, robbery ten kinds, collectively referred to as the "ten gods".

Eight-character fortune-telling according to Zhou Yi fortune-telling eight-character fortune-telling method, with a person's birth of the year, month and day of the time represented by the heavenly stem and earth branch is also called the eight-character four pillars as the basis, the year pillar month pillar day pillar time pillar each column contains a heavenly stem and an earthly branch, a total of eight characters, commonly known as the eight characters, and the day pillar for the residence of the original god, with the year stem branch as the birth foundation of the parents, the moon pillar for the fortune of the yuan pattern, the time pillar for the child rest [child wife]; If the pattern is found on the moon, the first judgment is auspicious or vicious, and if the pattern is auspicious, the Universiade will move forward in the direction of the pattern of mutual assistance, and if the year is not harmful, the eight characters will have a smooth journey, and the opposite will be bumpy and difficult, and even the disaster will not be a single line; There is also a good luck in the eight-character pattern, but the eight-character middle stream likes to use God to help it, then it will turn evil into good fortune, and then there is its own eight-character pattern is very bad, and the big luck will be very good in the year, and the disadvantages of the eight-character will be corrected, and it will also be very smooth; In short, a bazi to get in hand, first look at the pattern of the moon order, and then look at the direction of the Universiade is good or bad, and then look at the joy and jealousy of the god in the four pillars of the eight characters, and the restraint of the pattern of the Universiade is clear at a glance.

Record 2: Ziwei Doushu

Ziwei Doushu is a kind of astrology and a branch of traditional Chinese physiognomy. Because the purple microstar is the first of the stars in the system, it is named. It is believed that the astrological signs at the time of a person's birth determine a person's life, that is, the fate of a person; It is believed that the stars that appear in a certain order have a specific impact on the fate of the corresponding person, so the analysis of the astrological aspects at the time of birth can judge the quality and chronological order of the person's own fate.

The legend of Ziwei Dou data was invented by Chen Shu (Chen Xiyi), an important figure in Taoism, around the time of the Northern Song Dynasty. The predecessor of Ziwei Doushu is the "Eighteen Flying Stars", and the Doushu is slightly later than the Five Stars, which was about the same time as Ziping Shu (Eight Characters and Four Pillars), and was influenced by Indian astrology. The writings on the number of buckets in the past dynasties are much less than eight characters, so the origin and inheritance of the number of buckets is not clear due to the lack of information.

Ziwei Doushu is one of the most important branches of traditional Chinese numerology. It is based on the year, month, day, and hour of a person's birth to determine the position of the 12 signs, constituting a natal chart, combined with the combination of the stars of each house, and linking the Zhou Yi hexagram to predict a person's fate flow, good fortune, bad luck, and good fortune.

Compared with the Four Pillars of Push, its origin is earlier, and it is the same origin and divergence, so it is called the two major schools of traditional Chinese numerology; Moreover, Ziwei Doushu Fortune Pushing Technique not only has the mysterious color of Taoist cosmology, but also has the modern connotation of paying attention to the social environment and interpersonal relationships.

Record 3: Qimen Dunjia

"Qimen Dunjia" is an ancient Chinese book of mathematics, and it is also the first secret technique in the three secret treasures of Qimen, Liuren and Taiyi, and is the most rational method of the first of the three styles, known as the highest level of prediction in Taoism, and its essence is a higher astrophysics, revealing the role of the eight planets of the solar system and the earth's magnetic field. "Qi" refers to the three odds, namely B, C, and D, and the "door" refers to the eight gates, namely "opening, resting, life, injury, Du, Jing, death, and surprise". Dunjia refers to the first escape into the six instruments in the sixth month, that is, "E, Ji, Geng, Xin, Ren, and Gui". "Qimen Dunjia" is also known as "Qimen", "Qimen Dun", and "Dunjia".

Qimen Dunjia was originally a kind of arithmetic book in Qingyun Sect, but it is often regarded as a book for divination, but some say that "Qimen Dunjia" is a traditional precious cultural heritage summed up by the ancient people of China in the struggle against nature, after long-term observation and repeated verification. Others say that "Qimen Dunjia" is a practice for cultivating the truth. Qimen Dunjia has two kinds of rational number Qimen and magic Qimen, and there is a pseudo-legend that "Qimen Dunjia" is a practice of cultivating the truth. The primary application of Qimen Dunjia in modern society is mainly prediction, and the advanced application is resolution and planning.

Record 4: Six Pillars of Fortune Telling

From three columns to four columns, it is not just a quantitative pile-up, but a qualitative breakthrough. The prediction and prediction method of the four-pillar Universiade plus the flow of the year, also known as the Ziping technique, in fact, the Ziping technique is very imperfect, in addition to the due luck is not known, such as the annual rhythm (the traditional Universiade is the monthly rhythm), the daily rhythm (the traditional small luck is the rhythm of the time, but the traditional small luck method is wrong, can only be abandoned), etc., and the moon law is not traditionally known.

In other words, the stem branch of the birth time that is traditionally found through the perpetual calendar is actually part of the solar law, while the moon law does not need to check the perpetual calendar, and is directly converted by the birth time of the lunar calendar. The four-pillar solar law and the moon law are the complete model of the four-pillar prediction. So, what are the six pillars?

According to the scientific principle of selecting points and taking surfaces, on the basis of the original concept of year, month, day, time and time, a quarter pillar (the stem branch of the four seasons of spring, summer, autumn and winter) is interspersed between the year column and the month pillar respectively, and a formation column is directly interspersed between the day pillar and the time column, which belongs to the basic method of six pillars prediction to learn the six columns.

……

This knowledge lingered in my head, and at the same time was constantly deciphered by the "translator" in my head, and after two days I felt like I had become a master of divination - just with little practical experience.
