Chapter 234: Oracle Bone Secret Text
An old thief in his seventies didn't even want his life for such a wooden box?
Perhaps, his death may have been an accident, but for an old man in his seventies, is money really that important? What is this old thief named Wu Shan doing this for?
Looking at the bone fragments in the box, Luo Yi really couldn't figure it out. When he looked at it again, he suddenly noticed that there were still words on the bone fragments!
He quickly picked up the top piece and approached the work lamp.
This should be a piece of cow bone, the color is simple, and there are many words engraved on it, just at a glance, Luo Yi understood that it was Yinxu script, which is what we often call oracle bone inscription!
The oracle bone inscription is by far the most systematic ancient script in China, appearing in large numbers during the Shang Dynasty and was used by the Zhou Dynasty for a long time after the Shang Dynasty collapsed.
In other words, these bone fragments were born at least before the Western Zhou Dynasty!
Luo Yi simply poured all the contents of the box on the table, cleaned it up a little, and found that most of these bones were cow bones and tortoise shells, and only a few fragments could not tell what kind of animal bone armor it was.
Looking at the oracle bones on the table, Luo Yi suddenly had some doubts: although these oracle bones were very old, the box containing them was obviously not something before the Western Zhou Dynasty.
Although he didn't understand cultural relics and wood carvings, Luo Yi still knew some fur.
According to the current version, the art of wood carving appeared in the Neolithic period, but its development and perfection was in the Qin and Han dynasties, and it was not until the Tang Dynasty that it became more and more perfect and reached a peak.
Before the Qin and Han dynasties, wood carvings were usually rough because of the relationship between craftsmanship and technology, without much artistic sense and beauty, and the level of carving was low.
Judging from the relief carving on the red sandalwood box in front of you, it is not only fine and sophisticated, but also extremely realistic and expressive!
This shows that this box should be a product after the Qin and Han dynasties!
The boxes of the Qin and Han dynasties contained products from the Yin and Shang periods, what does this mean? And it was also the rosewood that ordinary people couldn't afford at that time!
It stands to reason that ancient people would not be so interested in things like oracle bone inscriptions, after all, there was no so-called archaeology at that time, even if there were dedicated ancient historians and royal family collections, but they would not be taken seriously to this point and used precious rosewood boxes to hold them!
You know, although the Chinese love red sandalwood, but since the Shang and Zhou dynasties, this kind of thing has always been owned by princes, and later, some rich and noble families used it in large quantities, and it has been an extremely precious wood since ancient times, and it is even no exaggeration to say that it is a material second only to golden silk nan wood!
To be able to hold such a precious vessel, there must be something more valuable!
But with such a pile of oracle bones, where can they be valuable?
Since oracle bones are not valuable, there is only one possibility left - what is written on the oracle bones is quite important!
Thinking of this, Luo Yi didn't care about continuing to entangle, and immediately began to ponder the content of the text on the oracle bone.
There were a total of twenty-three oracle bones, and by the time Luo Yi straightened them out, it was already seven o'clock in the morning.
This kind of finishing work is not only time-consuming, but also extremely laborious, and it stands to reason that Luo Yi should have been exhausted after doing all this.
But the truth is the opposite, Luo Yi at this moment was already extremely excited, because he never thought that the content recorded in these oracle bones would be related to what he dreamed of!
After sorting all the things recorded on the oracle bones, Luo Yi found that the person who recorded these contents was a person named Ji Ru, who was a descendant of the Western Zhou Dynasty and should have been Ji Man's cousin at that time.
The whole content is divided into three parts, and the first part says such a thing, which is roughly as follows:
In the twenty-first year of King Mu, the Mother of God came to the court, was warmly received by King Mu and entertained the guest from afar in the Zhao Palace, and had a very happy conversation.
Because King Mu was over seventy years old at the time, during the banquet, the king sighed that his ambition had not been rewarded, and at the same time, he asked the divine mother: Manwen, Kunlun has the art of immortality, is this true?
The Mother of God replied: "Mirror flowers, water and moon, phantom ears!"
This kind of specious answer made King Mu a little dissatisfied, and he said at that time: If there is, there will be, if there is not, there will be none, why be ambiguous!
The Divine Mother said: Everything is empty, let it be.
When King Mu heard the meaning of the words, he immediately became respectful and said: The four seas are one, and the ambition of my life is also, and it is not a pity to stop in the middle of the way!
The Mother of God smiled and said: Sincerity!
Then he gave King Mu the method of immortality, so that it would not be leaked.
The more tomorrow, the Mother of God will return to the west, and King Mu will send it away. To be returned, the secret order is inscribed, cast in Wuding, and hidden secretly.
The middle section says:
In the following year, King Mu attacked Zheng and became the lower capital.
Yi Hu was puzzled, please Yu Mu Wang, said: Uncle Jing has been loyal for generations, his father is still an important minister of our dynasty, and his achievements cover the past and the present, what is the war?
King Mu replied: The light of the stars and the moon, want to cover the sun?!
Yi Hu was reluctant and asked: The stars and the moon are comparable to the sun?!
King Mu was impatient and sighed: The banquet of the Mother of God, Uncle Jing follows!
Ihu finally came to his senses.
The last section says:
Fifty-five years, King Mu collapsed, Yihu was King Gong, fifteen years later, King Gong collapsed, and when he was buried, Zheng people were in turmoil, and Wuding was lost.
Although most of his energy is focused on the research of biotechnology, Luo Yi knows the history of China well, and he quickly understands the meaning of this.
Together, these three paragraphs are actually quite simple:
Four years after King Mu of Zhou entered the Kingdom of the Queen Mother of the West, the Queen Mother of the West returned to the Western Zhou in the fourth year, granted King Mu the law of immortality, and warned him not to leak it.
After the Queen Mother of the West left, in order not to forget the method of immortality, King Zhou Mu secretly asked people to record this method on the five tripods and hide it. In the second year, fearing that Uncle Jing, who was accompanying him at the time, would leak secrets, King Mu of Zhou destroyed the state of Zheng, that is, the small vassal state where Jiang Shang was sealed.
After the death of King Mu, King Gong succeeded to the throne, and when King Gong died, when he was buried, the descendants of Uncle Jing made a rebellion, and the five tripods that remembered the law of immortality were also lost.
If there is anything else in this world that can interest Luo Yi, except for the secret of immortality, I am afraid that there will be no second one!
This is not only his ideal, but also his obsession and inner demon!
Therefore, after understanding these oracle bone secret texts, he was almost ecstatic!
Previously, despite the guidance and help of the Lou brothers, Luo Yi had never made any progress on this project, except for discovering that the genes of the lighthouse jellyfish were incompatible with humans.
And now, I inadvertently got a record of immortality, which is undoubtedly a carbon in the snow!
You must know that the lifespan of ancient people was generally not long, usually around forty or fifty years old, sixty years old are rare, and emperors are even more, and there are almost few long-lived people.
Therefore, if the lifespan of King Zhou Mu is placed in ancient times, he is indeed an extremely rare long-lived person!
Although King Zhou Mu only lived to be 105 years old, Luo Yi firmly believed that there must be some secrets in it. If you can find those five tripods, maybe it will be of great help to your own research, how can this not make people excited?!
