Chapter 350: The Tomb of the Five Directions
The torches and backpack fell less than twenty meters away from me, and the firelight was attached to the ground and became a little faint, but the reflection on the backpack could still be seen.
The pain all over my body almost broke my nerves, but there was still a force that supported me, and I endured the sharp pain, moving little by little towards the firelight.
The river was rushing, and a lot of water vapor was raised in the river, and my breathing was very rapid, and there were often small water particles rushing into my throat, which made my throat itch, and I coughed one after another, and every time I coughed, my mouth would have a sweet smell, and my chest would feel like I was pierced.
The distance of just twenty meters became extremely far for me, and I almost used all my strength to finally reach the side of the backpack.
I opened my backpack and took a look at it, and confirmed that "Shiyangzhi" and "Luban Book" were all there, and I breathed a sigh of relief in my heart.
As soon as my heart was relaxed, the pain in my body became more intense, and I could no longer support it, so I fell on the bank of the river with my head tilted, and my upper and lower eyelids kept fighting, and the sleepiness soon came up.
It was a feeling of comfort and deep fear, and I knew in my heart that if I didn't have the blessing of medicine, as long as I closed my eyes, I would never wake up again.
Fortunately, the medicinal power stored in the meridians soon began to work, and the broken bones and muscles began to heal themselves quickly, only the brain recovered more slowly, and after a long time, it was still groggy.
I just lay there, waiting for my brain and body to rejuvenate.
After about twenty minutes, the physical pain disappeared, and the brain, which was damaged by the buzzing sound, did not fully wake up until an hour later.
What is the meaning of great calamity and immortality, I think this is great calamity and immortality.
But not dying is not necessarily a blessing, and I still have to walk a long way in the dark.
Well, I know, it's going to be a very long road.
After resting for a while, I got up from the ground with some difficulty, and when I looked over my body, I saw a mass of blistered insects coiled around my clothes like thick wool threads, and I was afraid that these insects would not know when they would come back to life, so I gathered them away and threw them all into the river.
It wasn't until my body was completely clean that I picked up the torch, put on my backpack, blessed the vision of my left eye with meditation, and took a look at the situation around me.
The sand floated from the upper reaches of the river and spread along the ground to a place 100 meters away, but there, there seemed to be a fault in the ground, and the long lines formed when the sand flowed were also in the middle of the river, and then I tried to listen to the sound of the water, and I could roughly judge that the downstream water was more turbulent, and there was a large number of splashing sounds in the depths of the ground.
If the estimate is correct, there should be a very high underground waterfall in the downstream of the river 100 meters away.
The only way to go up the river was to find an exit or some other fork in the road.
After trying to move my hands and feet, and feeling that it was okay, I raised my torch and moved upstream along the riverbank.
The light coming from the torch was actually very weak, and the light source was too close to the eye, making it difficult for the real vision to adapt to the darkness in the distance, so I could see very little with my right eye.
If I didn't have the vision of the quicksand of the Qi Sea, all I could see now was a small area about two or three meters around my body, and beyond this circular area, there was a large area of darkness that was drowned out by the sound of the water.
Being alone in such an environment can be a little nervous, so I am extra careful with every step I take, for fear that evil will suddenly emerge in the dark.
Fortunately, because of its proximity to the river, there is plenty of oxygen here.
At first, the feet were still smooth and hard stones, but as we walked farther and farther, mud and sand began to appear on the ground, and after 200 meters, the ground was completely covered with wet sand, and the feet rubbed on it, which was soft to the touch, giving people a particularly unreal feeling.
These sediments should be washed down from the upstream by the river when the water level is relatively high, and finally deposited here, because the downstream is close to the waterfall, the water flow is scattered and turbulent, so there is no sediment accumulation.
As I walked, I pulled out two energy bars from the side pocket of my backpack and chewed them indiscriminately, filling my mouth with a large amount of blood foam, which almost completely concealed the chocolate aroma of the energy bar.
When I reached for the third bar, four silhouettes resembling tree stumps appeared in the field of vision of the Qi Sea Quicksand.
Just now, I was just eating, but now when I turned around, I found that the river had a bend fifty meters ahead, and these four piles were placed on the outer arc of the bend.
There was no corpse qi, no heavy yin qi, they were just placed there so quietly, I didn't dare to take it lightly, I deliberately slowed down, and carefully watched the situation around me.
After a few minutes, I finally stepped on the soft sand to the first stump, lifted the torch and blew the light forward, finally breathing a sigh of relief.
It was a knee-high stone pier with a palm-sized copper cake embedded in it, and I could smell a faint smell of patina when I was more than a meter away.
If you look closer, you can see a copper frame in the shape of a tree branch scattered next to the stone pier, as well as something that resembles an oil lamp dish.
It seems that there should have been a Han Dynasty lantern on the stone pier, and the copper cake on the pier surface was the lampholder of the lantern, but due to perennial water erosion, the lamppost of the lantern has been completely rusted and collapsed directly from the lampholder.
It is believed that the ancients erected four lanterns here, which should have had a special purpose.
With that in mind, I crouched down and tried to pick up the lamppost to take a look, but it was so rusty that it cracked with a touch of my fingers and shattered into a handful of loose rust slag.
I frowned, and went to fetch the half-buried lamp tray in the sand, which had also been quite thoroughly corroded, but still managed to maintain a relatively intact shape due to the oil that had been in the inner core.
When I picked up the half-broken lamp plate, a small depression appeared in the sand, and when the fire passed, a very smooth reflection appeared in the depression.
There are seven small holes in the lamp tray for inlaying cotton threads, and there are also six lamp branches on the lamp pole on the ground, each of which can hold up a lamp plate, and the top of the lamp pole can hold another one, which is seven in total.
This is the structure of the seven-star lantern, I have seen records related to it in the classics of the old family, it is said that this thing was often used by warlocks to set up a formation in the Han Dynasty, as for what kind of array, the classics of the old family did not say clearly, and I could not give an explanation.
I threw the lamp plate, and I dug up the sand on the ground with my hands, and I saw a flat stone slab buried under the sand, I don't know whether it was due to the perennial river washing, or it was polished manually, the surface of the slate appeared very smooth, and the traces of relief could be faintly seen on it.
I carefully identified the contents of the relief, and it felt like the top of a snow-capped mountain, and around the top of the mountain, there were even some falling snowflakes.
Since the summit didn't look complete, I realized that what I was seeing was only a small part of a large relief, so I took out my sapper shovel from my backpack and began to clear the ground of silt as fast as I could.
A large area of sand was dug up, and an iceberg carved on twelve stone bricks was completely presented in front of my eyes, on the left side of the iceberg, there was also a seal "Wu" character engraved, and on the right side of the iceberg, there was an ice road and a slender tomb road.
There are three towering ice picks carved in the ice tunnel, and in the tomb tunnel, there is a statue of a towering figure with a sun on each shoulder.
Seeing this scene, I immediately realized that this iceberg should be the old witch mountain behind the village, and the ice road and the tomb road are the entrances to the entire tomb.
This is a map, a diagram of the mechanism of the tomb.
As soon as this thought came to my mind, I immediately became excited, and with the map in hand, I was not afraid that I would not be able to go out!
I continued to clear the silt, and as more and more sand was removed, a large diagram of the structure of the tomb was finally able to return to the light of the fire.
The whole tomb is divided into five large blocks according to the direction: east, west, south, north and middle, the iceberg is in the south, there is a large tomb in the east and west directions, and the staggered chains are depicted in the north direction, and the position I am in now is the center of the entire tomb group.
In the structure of the tomb, a long river vein is depicted on the twelve bricks in the middle, with the source in the south and the waterfall in the north, and not far from the waterfall, there are four seven-star lanterns, and on the opposite side of the lamp, there is also a very short tomb road and a triangular burial chamber.
Due to years of decay, the relief lines are not particularly clear, I almost put the torch on the ground, only to see by the firelight that there are a few dots in the triangular tomb, each point can correspond to the star position of the Big Dipper, and in the center of the tomb, there is also a small seal engraved with the word "evil".
It should be said that in the entire tomb structure map, only this small area in the middle is not so clear, and in other locations, it is easy to see the notched veins, such as the word "evil" also engraved in the Western tomb, but it is much clearer and can be identified without looking at it.
I suspect that the middle part of the structural diagram should have been carved last, and the grave builder must have encountered something when he was digging down, and the time was very hasty, and the carving was not deep enough.
After that, I looked at the structure of the tomb in several other directions.
The tomb on the west side is a tomb road plus a large main burial chamber, plus two ear chambers on the left and right, such a structure is very common in ancient tombs, the problem is that in a main burial chamber, there are seventy-two coffins, and the position of none of the coffins corresponds to the star position of seventy-two earthly evil stars.
