Chapter 115: Brocade Scroll
There is only such a record about the source of white sand, and it is a very general desert hinterland, you must know that there are many large deserts on the earth, and each desert has a so-called dangerous desert hinterland, and the source of white sand cannot be determined by the desert hinterland alone, at best, it is only known that white sand comes from the desert.
If you want to identify the true source of Baisha, you have to find the answer from these ancient books that have been picked out, and perhaps some of the books will have an additional harvest when combined. Maybe this idea is right or wrong, in short, whether it's right or wrong, we have to look at these books carefully.
The rest of the work is relatively simple. The little wolf is like an editor-in-chief, with a different division of labor for each of us.
I'm in charge of summarizing the contents of the scrolls, which is a much easier job than others, at least I don't have to look through the paper books every page, because the scrolls are all in chunks, and many of them still have the date numbers on them, so it's easier to sort them. It's just that a small part of the brocade scroll is more damaged, and the content recorded in it is somewhat missing, and the rest can still be seen clearly.
When I was sorting out, I found that these brocade scrolls were all written by the same person, and all the words were in the same form, using the technique of description, more like a personal diary, and most of the recorded content was about Baisha.
It didn't take long for me to arrange all the scrolls in order, and to understand the general content of the scrolls. The scrolls are all about the events that took place from the first year of the Tang Dynasty to the fourth year of the Tang Dynasty.
I've simply compiled a few important things about this place and translated the ancient verses into modern ones.
The first scroll reads:
In the first year of Jianzhong, there was a mysterious person who did not know where to bring a handful of white sand to his father, and his father's face changed suddenly after seeing Baisha, and he immediately wrote to invite several old friends to gather at home, and had been staying up all night to discuss the matter of Baisha, during which they had a fierce dispute, because my father told me in advance, not allowed to listen to their conversation, so they had a dispute because of what, I have no way of knowing.
Unexpectedly, the next day, my father suddenly became seriously ill and dying, and before he died, he pointed to Bai Sha and left his last words: This is the source of evil, you must stay away from it, do not try to explore any secrets about it, and do not touch a qiē related to it, as long as you are involved with it, it will bring endless disasters to yourself and even the whole family. My departure now is a relief for your mother and son, and only when I am gone, can you survive well. Remember, child, stay away from it, and hope you never see the white sand again.
On the bottom side of the scroll, there are four more words, which are very powerfully written: You will take revenge.
After reading the content of this brocade scroll, it is not difficult to find that the person who wrote the brocade scroll was from a family of tomb robbers, of course, perhaps a family of tomb robbers, his father was a tomb robber, and the people invited to him were also tomb robbers. From his father's last words, it can be seen that his father knew about Baisha and died because of Baisha, not the so-called serious illness and dying, which was just a gimmick to cover up. On his deathbed, his father reminded his son never to track down the secrets of Baisha, which shows that Baisha's secrets are extraordinary.
However, his father did not expect that his son did not listen to his advice. This can be seen from the four words at the bottom of the line, which show that the person who wrote the scroll has decided that his father's death is related to Baisha, and regards his father's death as hatred.
To be honest, when I read this brocade scroll, I felt a little excited in my heart, and of course it was more of an expectation, looking forward to finding the secret of Baisha from the brocade scroll.
Next, let's move on to the next brocade scroll:
After my father's burial, I went to look for my old friends with whom I had discussed the matter of Pasir Sha that day. But when I visited them one by one, I found that several of my father's old friends had disappeared, and disappeared without a trace, as if they had evaporated from the world.
No matter what method I used, no matter what means I used, I couldn't find out their whereabouts, and to my surprise, even some of their previous information disappeared. If I can't find them, I won't be able to find out the information about Baisha, and only by finding out Baisha's secrets can I know why my father died.
No matter where they are, I must find them.
After reading this brocade scroll, there is a sentence that makes me wonder what it means that even some of their previous information has disappeared. If a person disappears without a trace, I believe, but if a person disappears even the previous information, then I really can't understand this.
After all, that's what was written on the scroll, and it didn't indicate what exactly disappeared, so I didn't dwell too much on this issue. However, I was a little disappointed by this scroll, I was looking forward to finding the secret of Baisha, and I had high expectations. But when I saw the person who wrote the scroll, I felt a little sad that there was no clue, and of course my sadness was not for the person who wrote the scroll, but for myself.
Think about it, the person who wrote the brocade scroll and the current me are not in the same situation. I'm looking for my master and brother, but I don't have any clues.
I calmed down my sadness for a moment, and then looked at the next brocade scroll:
The collective disappearance of my father's old friends overwhelmed me. I don't have the slightest clue right now, but I'm not going to give up. I don't look for my father's old friend anymore, because I don't think anyone in this world can hide so well, and unless it's a dead person, there won't be any flaws.
When I assumed they were all dead and gave up on their clue, I realized that I had made the big mistake of ignoring the most important person, the mysterious man who gave my father Baisha. Since that person can come to his father with Baisha, it means that he must also know the secret of Baisha. Even if he doesn't know the secrets of Baisha, then I have to figure out why he sent Baisha to my father, and where he sent Baisha from.
I decided to start with this person, although I only know that this person is a peer, and we only have a one-sided relationship, but I will never forget that face, and I must find him.
After reading this brocade scroll, it added some expectations to me, after all, he still has a clue now, and he is not nothing, so I expect him to bring me Baisha's answer.
However, it backfired, and it is really necessary to have it sometimes, and there is no time to force it in life. The next few scrolls do not mention the finding of this man, but it is written that he is looking for this man, and he begins to frantically make friends on the road, robbing tombs while inquiring about this person with his fellow friends.
I kept looking at each brocade scroll until I saw this brocade scroll in the second year of Jianzhong, and he began to grasp the clues of Baisha again.
The contents of this scroll are:
In the second year of its establishment, a caravan dressed up in the Western Regions entered the Hedong region, with a total of 27 people, horses and a large number of box goods. But this huge caravan did not enter the city, nor did it make any transactions of buying or selling. They are stationed outside the Chengnan River during the day, cook their own meals, do not eat local food, and do not talk to the local people.
Two days later the caravan disappeared without a trace, until four days later, when hunters found people buried in a ravine deep in the South Mountain. The next day, the Hezhong Prefecture sent officials to clean up a total of 27 corpses, and the investigation of the officials confirmed that these 27 corpses were the caravan in the Western Regions a few days ago. No trace of horses or cargo was found at the scene.
When the officials of the river government surveyed the scene, they found that one of the corpses had fine sand similar to salt, that is, white sand.
This is the news brought to me by a friend of the government office, I once entrusted this person to help me find out about Baisha, but I didn't expect that he brought me a murder case involving 27 lives, and he came to ask me about Baisha, hoping that I could help him solve the case.
I agreed to his request and decided to help him solve the case. This is an opportunity for me to investigate the secrets of Baisha under the pretext of helping the government to solve the case.
After reading this brocade scroll, I found that this person is really smart, and he will use the power of the government to investigate his own affairs. I thought to myself, if only I could use the power of the government, then it would not be difficult to find out the whereabouts of the master and the elder brother.
The next few brocade scrolls are all about some of the experiences he helped to handle the case, so I won't talk about them here, but just pick some key parts and record them.
As he helped with the investigation, he found the caravan's cargo boxes, but all the boxes were empty, and each one was cleaned, as if it had been scrubbed. When he saw that there were many small scratches on the inside of the box, he began to suspect that the box contained white sand. Only grains of sand will stick to the planks of the box, so they need to be washed off with water.
As the case gradually became clearer, he was surprised to find that there seemed to be a mysterious force in the dark, observing his every move and understanding him very well. As soon as he had some clues about White Sands, those clues would suddenly be cut off.
He sensed that the mysterious power was preventing him from investigating the information about White Sands, and although he now had the support of the government, there was no way to obtain more secrets about White Sands.
He used the relationship of the government to investigate the origin of the murdered caravan, it was just a very ordinary caravan, the only thing that was not ordinary was that this caravan had never done business with people from the Central Plains before, and it did not have any contacts, and this time it was only the first time to come to the Central Plains, so the relationship between this caravan and the Central Plains was almost zero.
The reason why this caravan came to the Central Plains was to deliver a batch of consignments, and it was not specifically to do business with the Central Plains people. As for who consigned the goods? What is the cargo? Who received this batch of goods? He didn't even investigate any of this important information.
In order to be able to solve this mystery, he even traveled thousands of miles to the Western Regions to personally investigate the location of the caravan. He had asked some of the people involved in the caravan, but no matter who he asked, he had no information about the shipment. What made him feel very strange was that not only the people at both ends of the business were mysterious, but even this caravan was particularly mysterious, not only did this caravan not count the goods, but also had no record of transporting this batch of goods.
The only thing he found in the Western Regions was that the consignment commission for this batch of goods was ten times higher than usual. This was almost impossible at the time, and even if it was to ship something of great value, the commission was only three times the usual one, and it was impossible to reach such an outrageous price as ten times.
He became more and more convinced that the caravan was transporting white sand. After living in the Western Regions for a while, he thought about how he could elicit that mysterious power, but the outcome of this method was likely to lead to his death. Despite this, he was willing to spend his life to find answers.
