Section 17 Digital Planet
As Zhang Liang's game character began to teleport, a planetary server named G37 was being generated-
- That's right, this map is the size of a whole planet!
The game server randomly generates the surface of the planet according to the data in the terrain library, and then extracts animal and plant information and randomly loads it onto the digital planet...... And so a world was born.
With the generation of this digital world, a large amount of random data is processed by a supercomputer, and the data of the digital planet is compressed into several gigabytes and stored.
Sounds incredible?
A huge digital planet with data of only a few gigabytes in size!? Sounds like alien technology?
However, the game servers do not actually use alien technology, but rather earth technology throughout.
The reason why the files of the entire digital planet can be compressed so small is entirely due to the huge database that Chen Zheng and they established before, which not only contains terrain data, job data, but even some weather data has begun to be collected gradually.
This super database, which even Chen Zheng doesn't know how huge, is the foundation of digital planet technology - the data of those G's is not a specific rock pattern or mountain range, but a series of numbers.
Mountain No. 1, River No. 2, Tree No. 3...... A few numbers are loaded by the compiler and they become spectacular mountains, waterfalls, and forests—the vast and complex numbers that make up the entire digital planet.
In each digital planet, there is at least one player with the rank of lieutenant or above, and it can be said that the entire digital planet is prepared for cultivating these captain-level players.
In the game's background, these planets are indeed newly discovered - whenever the link to the star path is severed, the bugs will find other pathways nearby in order to bypass the human blockade.
In the star path set in the game, there are infinite paths for the Zerg to reach the earth, because there will always be undiscovered planets in the star path. Whenever the Zerg find a new star path that can connect to Earth, the command center will send at least one lieutenant into the planet to collect resources on the planet and repel the Zerg attack......
…… If you can't fight back, cut off the star path link.
Of course, technically the opposite of the game's background, a new digital planet will only be created when the Captain player requests a new game, just like Zhang Liang's gameplay.
And the death penalty actually gives you a boost, because it is very difficult for the characters in the game to actually die, they just drop all the "large equipment" (such as vehicles, power armor, etc.), and then teleport back to the headquarters by the "Star Road Marker" on the watch.
During this period, the number of insect kills and contribution points generated by the service will not be cleared, and some small items (such as light weapons, etc.) can be brought back from the digital planet.
After a long period of recuperation and retraining, you can re-teleport to an open planet, and players can continue to upgrade their ranks to get better rankings and better military supplies.
And the military supply is actually the kind of supply box before. In the game's setting, people and goods are not supplied through the same teleportation channel - interstellar teleportation is very expensive, and to ensure a consistently high success rate, it consumes more additional energy.
Therefore, the very resource-intensive teleportation method is only used when transporting humans, and the supplies are teleported in a different "freight" way.
While the player and supplies are actually teleported together, upon arrival at their destination, the location of the supplies is often not close to the player, but rather scattered within a certain area.
Not only that, but due to the low security of "freight delivery", only 6 or 7 boxes of 10 boxes of supplies can arrive smoothly, so no one knows which of their supply boxes will be lost.
However, the higher the rank, the higher the quality of the initial supplies, and the higher the probability of being able to obtain high-level equipment when you arrive in the war zone - this is the motivation that the online version of Insecticidal War brings to players.
The number of players on a digital planet is about 3,000, and new players will be sent in within three days of the formation of the digital planet. After three days, the digital planet will be locked - the introduction in the background of the game is that due to the blockade of the Zerg space, it is impossible to continue to teleport people and supplies.
At this time, the goal of the game for players who are still on this digital planet has become survival and construction, and at the same time, the bug forces will also descend on this planet, and players will start a battle for this digital planet.
When a player is teleported away, they will be assigned to another digital planet if they re-enter the game. The assignment of planets is completely random, and it's hard to get to the same planet twice at random unless friends team up together.
After all players on a digital planet are wiped out, the server will automatically arrange for an NPC to activate the device to cut off the star path, and the digital planet will be hidden and deleted, leaving only a string of names in the list of fallen stars.
And when the player manages better and can even compete with the Zerg, the second phase of the digital planet will be opened, and at this time, new players can be teleported over, and the maximum number of people will be about 3,000.
At the same time, there will also be a headquarters-like base on the digital planet managed by NPCs. When this base is established, if there is a PK phenomenon again, the red player will be wanted, and the "Starry Sky Road Mark" will not be able to start the "Starry Sky Road Mark" teleportation when he is dying......
In other words, if a red player is killed, he is really dead, and he will lose all his ranks, equipment, and ...... Even the character ID. Entering the server again is a new life as a different character - unless the red name player can successfully capture a planet, once the red name is really going to say goodbye.
When the player has completely defeated the Zerg, the original planet will become a "frontline fortress star", and new players will be born here and sent to fight in a more frontline place. All the veterans who fought for this planet will be written into the game chronicles, along with a large number of feats, virtual items, and even real-life rewards such as "Ten Days of Game HQ" and "Pro Squad Invitation".
But obviously...... These rewards are a bit of a drunkard's intention not to drink.
And the third stage of the game is the "Frontline Fortress Star" defense battle - this newly opened up planet will be attacked by bugs, and once the defense fails, what awaits this planet will be the fate of deletion, leaving only the names and deeds in the game chronicle for future generations to commemorate.
Of course, no matter which stage it is, it refers to what happens on a digital planet. Countless digital planets are like countless servers, living and dying as players progress through the game.
But that's all for later, for players who have just stepped into the online version of "Extermination Wars", everything is still new and unknown......
…… Now they will never know that this game will change the fate of so many people......
Or even the fate of the planet.
