Section 1: Zhang Kong

2018/2/10~19

Zhang Kong's diary:

I'm Zhang Kong, and it's the tenth day of my survival in the apocalypse. The zombie outbreak was very sudden, without warning, and it broke out so suddenly. Within the first hour of the outbreak, 80% of humanity was transformed into zombies. Unlike the zombies in other movies, the sign of people's transformation is not a fever, but a decrease in body temperature. The body temperature of a normal person should be between 36~37 °C, while the temperature of the corpse before the transformation is only 30 °C.

I was still in school when the virus broke out, but fortunately I was skipping class at that time, and I narrowly escaped the fate of being torn to pieces by my classmates in the lecture hall. Seeing the chaotic scene, I immediately jumped out of the iron fence on the side of the academy and fled. The north side of the school is full of commercial centers, and the east side is basically full of private houses, so you can't go there. But to the south of the school was a large forest, and across that forest was a small apartment area with only three or four buildings, and it was rush hour, so there shouldn't be many people, so I ran through the forest with all my might. I don't have the keycard for that place, but the guardhouse does, and fortunately, the guard uncle either didn't change and ran away, or he changed and ran somewhere else, and the guardhouse was empty.

I swept away the magnetic card from the guard booth, and then the baton that had been placed on the table. I chose the innermost building, went from house to house, and found a string of keys hidden by the owner under the shoe rack outside a room on the third floor. When I opened the door, there was no one inside, so I stayed in for the time being. I relied on the rice, noodles, meat and vegetables in this room for two days. I was afraid that I would not know when the power and water would be cut off, so I used an electric kettle to cool it two days ago, and then stored the water in various utensils and covered it with plastic wrap.

For the past two days, I would spend hours every day observing the outside. For some reason, every day when the sun shines, the zombies in the house will stand next to the window, looking as if they are basking in the sun.

Sure enough, on the third day, the electricity, water and gas were cut off at the same time, but fortunately, I prepared in advance.

When I was cooking, I started to disassemble the furniture and light it with matches for firewood. Because wooden furniture is usually coated with a layer of fireproof glue, I have to completely disassemble and mash the wood to make it burn. For velvet, I use a few pieces of cloth that I dried before. After another week, I had almost consumed all the food and water, and I had all the furniture in my house. The toilet stinks and can't be used anymore, and although I don't have any weapons in my hand, I decided to change my place first. Because the window angle doesn't allow it, I don't know which one on my floor has zombies and which one doesn't. Finally, after thinking about it, there are no zombies in the community anyway, so I'd better just change the building.

After observing for a day, I used pen and paper to mark the interior rooms of all the buildings, which houses had zombies and which ones did not. I didn't take the baton, I just threw it in the house. That thing is a baton used to suppress riots, and the hard rubber head hurts to beat people, but the lethality is not as strong as that of a wooden stick.

After taking some oil, salt, sauce and vinegar, medicine, a tool kit and a bag of milk candy with a large hiking bag, I decided to leave at once and find a new place to live as soon as I could eat and still have the energy to run.

I brought a metal hose that was removed from that house, and I wanted to tie a fruit knife to it, but I found that I couldn't tie it tightly, and I didn't have anything like super glue at home, so I gave up.

Sneaking downstairs, the electronic lock on the door has become ineffective due to a power outage. I opened the door, because I was a little worried, I just closed the door and didn't close it completely, so that when I ran for my life, the remaining second of closing the door might save my life.

I chose the morning of the time, after all, after a few days of observation, I found that zombies still like the sun, at noon I am afraid that zombies will go crazy, at night I am afraid that my vision is limited, and the flashlight is too conspicuous, so I picked the morning when the sun just came out. As planned, I searched the building closest to me, but unfortunately, I found nothing.

It took me more than an hour to search that floor, and after the search was over, I took a break in the stairwell on the second floor, ate some sugar, drank some water, and regained my strength. When I was done, I continued to the next building.

Searching for the next floor, I gained a bit of experience and hid my hiking bag in the stairwell on the third floor. This will not only protect the safety of the materials but also save my physical strength, after all, although there is a toolbox in that bag, it still weighs a lot. I don't know if I'm too unlucky or what, all the doors of the next building are locked and can't be opened, the only room where I found the key, it's still very empty, there's nothing to eat, only a pack of three bags of instant noodles, it seems that the owner doesn't cook often, it is estimated that it is a rented house.

It's already 11 o'clock, and it's almost noon, so I might have to go back and search for the building where I live? After some consideration, I decided to spend the day in an elevator on this floor, observe the situation on my first floor, and then set off tomorrow morning. After all, this is the end of the world, be careful to sail the ship of ten thousand years.
