Section 02 Essence
Electromagnetic weapons, not so much a weapon, are actually more of a direction.
Both the official and the civil sciences have racked their brains on this issue. All kinds of designs are brain-opening and imaginative.
There are many ways to realize electromagnetic weapons, although they all use the power generated by the relationship between electricity and magnetism to propel the projectile, but their advantages and disadvantages are completely different.
At present, electromagnetic orbital weapons are relatively mainstream, and most countries are mainly focusing on magnetic orbital weapons in the research direction of electromagnetic weapons.
After all, coil weapons involve superconducting materials and supercapacitors, while magnetic rail weapons only involve supercapacitors, although only one necessary condition is reduced, but the difficulty of implementation is reduced geometrically.
Because Cheng Zheng's "copper-based superconductivity experiment" - or "alchemy of ideas" - has not yet succeeded, the electromagnetic cannon he chose to implement is also a magnetic rail scheme.
In addition, Chen Zheng also borrowed some more cutting-edge reconnection concepts.
The reconnect gun has no barrel and is composed of two separate rectangular coils that generate a strong magnetic field force that ejects the projectile into the magnetic field at a higher velocity.
In anime and games, in some episodes that show electromagnetic weapons, two ribbon light arrays, hollow weapons and equipment that can fire projectiles of different calibers and even catapult planes are references to the concept of reconnection guns.
Of course, there is no lighting effect between the two magnetic field rails of the real reconnector.
In terms of weapon concept, a reconnect is a weapon that uses compressed air or gunpowder to provide an initial velocity to the projectile, and then allows the projectile to enter the electromagnetic weapon for further acceleration.
In fact, whether it is a coil gun or a railgun, this method of providing muzzle velocity can greatly improve the efficiency of energy use and increase the speed of the projectile.
However, Chen Zheng's method of providing muzzle velocity for projectiles is somewhat alternative, and his method is...... Crossbow.
There is no way to use the primitive means of projection such as the crossbow.
Although, he had picked up the pistol that had been pinched and deformed by the Ote, and removed a good barrel, some gunpowder, a few bullets, and a few deformed primers.
But he ran out of things before he could finish his experiments, and he needed materials that were easier to obtain, so it was only natural that the crossbow would appear as a replacement.
Chen Zheng slowly drank the fish soup and began to fiddle with the small parts he had taken out earlier.
As the parts were assembled one by one, gradually, a strange-looking "gun" slowly took shape.
This "gun" mainly consists of two parts.
The main structure of the lower half of it is four copper bars. Holes are drilled in the copper bars every few centimeters, and a thick, round, cylindrical wooden model is embedded in it.
These blocks represent capacitors.
Each cylindrical wooden model has two claws, which are inserted into the holes of the two copper bars. Four copper bars were connected in groups of two, two in parallel, attached to a wooden "trigger".
This "trigger" represents the switch, and Cheng Zheng calls it a secondary switch.
The upper part of the "gun" is simpler, consisting of two copper rails embedded in a wooden plank, connected to a secondary switch.
The rear of the copper rail is connected to the crossbow.
Compared to the rough workmanship of the heavenly part, this crossbow is much more refined: the arm of the hardwood bow is hung with a bowstring made of fine copper wire mixed with bark fibers, and in the center of the bowstring is an intricately crafted copper lock.
On the one hand, this latch holds the projectile in place, and on the other hand, it is also attached to another bark copper wire chain, which is finally tied to the winch.
When you turn the rocker next to the crossbow, the gears are rotated, and the winch hangs the bowstring on the ballista.
The handle of the crossbow is pure wood, and there is a cavity inside it in which a strange fish crystal is placed. The two copper plates are in contact with the Strange Fish Crystal, and the lead wire is connected to another trigger-like switch, and finally to the copper rail.
The switch of this part was named a first-level switch by Cheng Zheng.
When this electromagnetic railgun is shooting, it first presses the first-level switch, and at this time, the strange fish crystal turns into electricity and pours into the supercapacitor, and then aims at the target with the electromagnetic cannon.
When the target is confirmed, the crossbow machine is pressed, and the secondary switch connected to the crossbow machine is turned on at the same time, and the current surges from the supercapacitor to the two copper rails.
At this time, the projectile mounted on the crossbow was shot out, and when the projectile passed through the charged copper rail, it was further accelerated, and finally flew out at more than 10 times the speed of sound, completely destroying Chen Zheng's target......
…… If everything goes according to his vision.
But that's impossible, Chen Zheng still has a lot of problems to solve.
Like what...... Supercapacitor issues.
Although Chen Zheng knows some research directions and concepts of supercapacitors, he also has strange fish crystals in his hands that can be turned into any substance.
However, he doesn't know whether the direction of those supercapacitors is reliable, and so far there is no more mature supercapacitor solution in the scientific community, and the slightly more mature solutions are too secret to know.
I don't know the solution composition and microstructure inside the supercapacitor, but I only know that the supercapacitor cannot be made by using graphene as the electrode. The supercapacitor composed entirely of graphene is just an idea, and proposing an idea and solving a problem are two completely different things.
Compared with the problem of tall supercapacitors, another simple problem that embarrassed Chen Zheng even more, that is, insulating materials.
So far, all Chen Zheng can do is pull out the bare copper wire, as for the insulating sheath of the wire...... He could only figure out what to do from the specimen box numbered more than a hundred.
However, neither supercapacitors nor insulating materials are more important than the other issue......
…… Chen Zheng still hasn't found a way to convert the strange fish crystal into electricity.
Before, when he saw that the alien technology treatment instrument could absorb the strange fish crystal to "charge", Chen Zheng suddenly realized: it turns out that the strange fish crystal can be turned into energy!
Only then did he make a model of the electromagnetic gun.
However, when he held the rudimentary "crystalline conversion device" mentioned above, and imagined in his mind that the strange fish crystal would be converted into "electricity", nothing happened.
There was no electric light, no arc could be seen, and even the volume of the strange fish crystal did not decrease in the slightest.
It was only at this time that Chen Zheng was stunned to find that the "electricity" in his mind was just "electricity", and there was no specific image! With such an abstract concept of "electricity" alone, it is impossible to activate the Strange Fish Crystal.
Later, Chen Zheng changed his approach.
He began to imagine in his mind the sparks drawn by the arc and the thunder and lightning in the sky......
Then, he got a flash of electric light.
The Strange Fish Crystal creates plasma, which then disappears into light and heat after less than 1 second in the air.
So the question is, what exactly is "electricity"?
