Section 3: Biting

2018/2/20

Zhang Kong's diary:

Before I go, I've read all the basic materials that have been unlocked.

The outbreak of the loss crisis is not due to some virus leak or other man-made reasons, but because of the evolution of plants. On February 10, 2018, all angiosperms in the world completed an inexplicable evolution, and all flower buds scatter a very small green particle that floats through the air. Anyone who inhales these particles is parasitized and subsequently vegetative. Only humans with antibodies to this particle can survive the first wave of airborne transmission. This has also directly led to 92% of humanity being zombieized. The body temperature of any infected human will drop rapidly until it reaches 26°C, and the human will be completely vegetative. At that time, humans were no longer animals, but plants, rootless plants that could sustain life through photosynthesis. What's even more terrifying is that plant-based humans need very little water, and even through the human respiratory lungs, directly filtering the water vapor in the air is enough to maintain the daily water needs.

Although the remaining surviving humans have different degrees of antibodies in their bodies, most of them will not be able to survive if they are bitten or scratched and cause a large-scale direct blood infection.

Plant zombies are very powerful and will evolve over time, and some zombies' bones will begin to fibrosis, making them stronger and stronger. That is to say, humanity is in a situation where the longer it drags on, the more difficult it will be for humanity.

I also learned some basic zombie habits. Because it is a plant, it likes sunlight, and the zombies are very active at noon, and the speed of running has reached the average running speed of humans, and the key is that the physical strength is several times that of humans! In other words, humans can sprint 100 meters with all their might, while zombies can sprint 400 meters with all their might. Fortunately, their physical strength is not unlimited, otherwise the marathon runners would have to take a break from cooking. However, that doesn't mean it's safe at night. Zombies can store enough energy for night activities during the day, and whenever there is no sunlight at night, zombies' desire to eat is the strongest. This makes the night even more dangerous than the day. It is equivalent to the zombie being in the middle of the day, and it also limits the visual senses of the human survivors. The most dangerous part of the day is the evening, when the energy in the corpse is abundant, and the desire to eat is extremely strong, and its combat effectiveness is difficult for humans to defeat even if they have weapons one-on-one. Unless you're holding such a sophisticated military knife like me, encountering more than two zombies is basically certain death.

With this knowledge, my chances of survival are greater, and I am glad that I was cautious before, if I had gone out at noon, I was afraid that I would have died outside. After my observation before, the building with the fewest zombies only had five zombies from the 1st to the 13th floors, and each one was in a different room.

The doors are locked, and it is impossible to open them with keys or tools. But I had that magical space, and I brought out a whole bunch of them*, and I began to slowly fumble my way to open the door. Because of the sound, the zombie inside was attracted to it, but because it was through the door, it shouldn't have known about my existence, so it just knocked softly from inside the house. After nearly 20 minutes, I still couldn't open the lock. Glancing at the door, I reluctantly brought out a few crowbars from the space, ready to pry the door open.

The physics is really amazing, it only took me a few minutes to pry open such a sturdy steel door under the lever principle of a crowbar.

It seemed that because the sound was louder, the zombie began to pound the door heavier, and I held it in my right hand for the last time...

Click!! The door opened, and the moment it opened, I jumped backwards at full speed. The zombie inside saw me, it didn't have any wounds on its body, and there was no place to decompose, and I knew at a glance that it was a zombie caused by pure air infection. It saw me and started running towards me, but it seemed that because it had little energy in the morning, it couldn't jog much faster than it walked. I continued to take a few jumps back, followed by a headshot shot.

I breathed a sigh of relief as this somewhat greenish zombie fell to the ground. Although I have read the information and seen it with my own eyes in the real world, it is indeed the first time that such a close confrontation is true, and tension is inevitable. However, nervousness is nervousness, and I'm quite excited to solve this zombie, after all, this is the first time I have killed a zombie with my own hands. When I entered the house, I looked at it, except for the bed, everything else was quite neat, and it seemed that this guy had changed while sleeping.

I don't know why, but when I saw such a scene, I suddenly felt a sense of responsibility, a responsibility to save some survivors in need. I don't lack food, I have weapons, I have shelter, I should go out and help some people, right?

After making such a plan, I decided to take it step by step, first clean up this community, and then gather other survivors, find a chance to leave the city, after all, there are too many zombies here, don't stay in the city for too long before consolidating your strength, after all, wouldn't it be bad if zombies evolve in large numbers at that time. After making sure that this room was safe, I cleaned the other four rooms in the same way, and the last two rooms I used Nepal kills, after all, I had to practice melee kills.

After killing five zombies, I suddenly felt an inexplicable sense of pride in my heart, and I giggled a few words of laughter, and I decided to go downstairs and bring the supplies up to find a room to live in first. But when I just opened the door of the elevator room, a zombie pounced directly! At that time, I was so scared that my heart was about to rush out, but I instinctively resisted with my arms. This is a girl who has become a zombie, except for the awkward color of her eyes and skin, it is actually quite good-looking. But just a 10,000-year-old single beast like me will look at the zombie appearance at this time.

Pulling out the * behind me, I stabbed it to death.

Looking at the zombies that fell to the ground and the six or seven bite marks on my arms, I was completely stunned.
