Chapter Twenty-Nine: The Thieves' Den

The roar of the giant fish behind him resounded throughout the cave, echoing and causing the rocks to fall.

Tang Yun swam desperately, his two arms were completely unconscious, and he was just paddling mechanically. The water in the cave is also turbulent, but unlike the outside, there are many stone walls around it, like stalactite caves, and many rocks are piled up to form tall columns.

Roar!

The roar behind him was getting closer and closer. The giant fish crashed into the edge of the cave, which gave Tang Yun a chance to buffer.

There was a narrow hole in front of it, and only a shallow lake filled it. With the help of the lightning that appeared from time to time outside, Tang Yun swam in from outside the hole.

As soon as his hand touched the ground, Tang Yun rushed straight inside.

Suddenly, he felt something hit his shoe. Turning his head, a thick bloody breath filled his eyes. The mouth of the giant fish had already slammed into the mouth of the cave, and the strong impact sensation knocked countless stones down around the cave.

The hole is narrow enough for one person to pass through. Tang Yun also squatted down and lay on his stomach to go inside, the giant fish collided for a while, and when he saw that there was no effect, he finally chose to give up. It roared reluctantly and left the cave.

Tang Yun had a place to hide for the time being.

It's cramped, dark and damp. His whole body was already soaked with water, and at this moment, a stream of wind came in, making him tremble.

Tang Yun's entire body curled up, trying his best to recover his physical strength. He was badly wounded, but he was no longer feeling from the wound. When the hand touched it, it was as if it were touching a piece of ice, and he was unconscious.

It's not a good sign, but I still have some stamina. Tang Yun took a heavy breath, recovered his mind, and continued to climb down the narrow cave.

There is a bright light in the distance.

In such a place, you can't see your fingers. Outside, there is still the light of lightning to follow, but inside the cave, you have to rely on the touch to grope for it.

The light was strong, right at the end of this narrow passage.

Tang Yun slowly prostrate, put his hand on his lap, and pulled out a dagger from it.

In such a narrow place, the tiger head knife is too long, and it is very inconvenient to use.

Slowly crawling through this passage, Tang Yun leaned closer, and finally found the location of the light.

There's a light here.

Embedded in the stone wall is a bronze lampstand, the surface of which has begun to show mottled marks. In such a humid environment, there is rust on it.

This bronze lampstand is very tightly made, and the shape of a servant holding it up with his hands is very delicate. The wind outside has little effect on the fire inside.

Tang Yun jumped down from the passage, and it turned out to be a separate space.

There are obvious traces of man-made excavation nearby, and there is no one else who can build this kind of thing in this barren mountain except for the Qing thief.

Tang Yun put the dagger away, and then pulled out the tiger head knife from his waist, and under the bronze lamp, the whole room was reflected.

This is supposed to be a storage room, with a lot of wooden boxes stacked on top of each other. Tang Yun picked open a box with a knife, and a flickering bright silver light emerged from inside.

Each box was full of blades, and these blades had not yet assembled the handles, Tang Yun picked them up at random, and with a slight wave, he split the wooden board next to him, which was very sharp.

Every box has an oil seal.

Some of the boxes contained iron armor and helmets, neatly arranged.

This was simply a small armory, and cold sweat broke out on Tang Yun's head. He put his knife aside, approached the stone door of the room, and quietly pushed a gap open.

Through the gap, a figure could be glimpsed in the distance.

The man had his back to Tang Yun and stood still all the time, a bit like a sentry. Tang Yun quietly pushed the stone door open a little, and the sound of rubbing on the ground was well muffled by the sound of water flowing outside.

Tang Yun slowly approached.

At the same time, looking around, the vicinity was empty, only one person standing with his back to him.

There was still a distance of two or three feet, Tang Yun suddenly burst out, and the long knife in his hand slammed against the man's neck. He wanted to catch a live mouth.

It's just that as soon as the knife was put up, Tang Yun sensed that something was wrong.

The man was stiff and motionless, and looking at that expression again, it was completely frozen.

He turned out to be a dead man.

The man was still able to stand upright after death because he had been completely stabbed in the head by a spear that came across him. It's like a flag, and after being stabbed in the head, you have to stand in place.

Tang Yun took the knife back and looked around, sporadic firelight flickering.

They didn't die for long, only a day at most. The blood has not yet fully coagulated.

Looking around, I didn't expect that there was something else here. There is a large space hidden in a cave, and the high dome has no end in sight. The river stops here, and this space is hidden in the mountains.

There is a lot of space, there are countless identical stone houses, and there are bridges that cross the air to connect each other.

On the bridge deck, countless corpses were scattered everywhere.

Like the man just now, they were wearing Qingjun standard armor, and some of them had swords stained with blood.

These people were lying on the ground, disemboweled, and many people's internal organs were directly exposed and scattered all over the ground. Tang Yun took the candle from a lamp, and under the lamp, some intestines were torn into small pieces by the strange force.

Tang Yun paid more attention to the faces of those people.

Unlike what he had imagined, the corners of these people's mouths were hooked, as if they were caught in a good memory.

They were all laughing.

After being treated with such an almost capital punishment, he actually showed a relieved smile.

Under the dim light, the weird smile became more and more penetrating.

Quack Quack –

A strange sound sounded, Tang Yun raised the knife and raised the lamp in his hand in front of him. Only a black shadow passed in front of him, and in the blink of an eye, he disappeared without a trace.

The quiet surroundings seem to be silent.

Wrong.

There was something that did pass over there.

Tang Yun's whole body straightened, and he walked along the bridge step by step. At the end of the bridge, there are also some corpses. The corpses were roughly similar to those on the bridge, smiling and dying miserably.

Everywhere you look, it's shocking.

Tang Yun had experienced the most brutal war, and the scene here could not shake his heart, but it made him feel a pang in his heart. He felt a bad feeling lingering in his heart, and from the very beginning, his thinking was led into a misunderstanding by others.

Why, if it was Qingjun's people who framed them?

Since the thieves of the Qing Dynasty summoned the demon dragon to snatch the tax silver, why, in this place, all of them died.

In other words, these Qing Dynasty thieves are all chess pieces like them. They are manipulated by others, fighting each other, and torturing each other.

Quack Quack –

The strange sound appeared again, only this time, it exploded in my ears. Tang Yun didn't have time to think about it, he held the knife in his left hand, and turned around to slash.

The candle in his hand was extinguished, and the surroundings fell into darkness, and his fangs and claws were elongated by the light and reflected on the wall.

That's a person.

His stomach had been hollowed out and his entrails were running all over the floor.

But he still stood up, and a strange cry came from his mouth.

Quack Quack –

As if in response.

The whole space, in all directions, suddenly resounded.

The dead do not pass away.

And they got up from the ground again.
