Chapter XXVIII
"Three Palaces Demon? Interesting...."Leon looked at Abel who was squirming and struggling on the ground, and muttered to himself: "It seems that the pool of Lazarus that Lars Gul El said is not simple, and I will have to go over it one day..."
The army of mutants behind him caught up, and Magneto carefully manipulated the iron sand to wrap Abel in groups, and made the Iceman add a layer of extremely cold ice to the iron ball, completely sealing the gap.
In front of the electromagnetic railgun, even the safety door made of titanium alloy can't block it for half a minute.
Leon easily removed the door, stepped into the lab, and walked slowly down the steps towards William Stryker.
Along the way, those scientific researchers huddled in the corners of the wall tremblingly, not daring to come out, for fear of making some noise to attract his attention.
General William Stryker's body convulsed uncontrollably in military uniform, and it was only at this moment that the self-proclaimed tough guy realized once again that the fear of death was so real.
Stryker once fought in the Vietnam War as an ordinary soldier. Deep in the damp and dark forest, Stryker and his teammates are attacked by Vietnamese guerrillas.
The poorly equipped, malnourished monkey-like Vietnamese soldiers were able to endure the bites of flies and insects in the dense forest, the miasma of smoke that burned their skin, and lurked in the muddy, hot and humid bushes for days just to kill a small group of American soldiers.
As the gunshots rang out, Stryker watched as his squad leader had half of his skull cut off by flying bullets, watched the Heavy being blown in two by a mine, and even watched his best friend accidentally step into an earthen trap and be killed by thousands of bamboo thorns throughout his thigh, bleeding to death before rescue arrived.
The ghostly Vietnamese guerrillas pursued behind, the shadows of the trees seemed to come to life, and every branch of the trees beckoned to themselves, trying to intercept the fleeing American GI.
That day was the first time that William Stryker was so close to death.
Leon did not interrupt the thinking of the elderly general in front of him, jumped up lightly, sat on the console, and said with a joking smile: "Good afternoon, General William Stryker." ”
Drawing his thoughts back from his memories, General Stryker took a deep breath, looked at Leon, and said indifferently, "Young man, what do you want?" ”
"Your life."
"I'm a major general in the U.S. Army, and if you kill me, countless people will come to track you down."
"Hehe, I didn't say I was going to kill you now, your life is worth more than you think." Leon smiled, "I've never worried about too many enemies. ”
William Stryker didn't ask for details, he just pulled his pistol from his waist with great speed and struck him at the center of the eyebrow.
The 9mm bullet slid out of the rifling and was distorted by the powerful magnetic field wrapped around Leon before it could shatter his skull, deflecting it into the wall.
The twisted shells fell to the ground, clanging against the marble tiles.
Leon smiled, snatched the gun from Stryker's hand, and slowly disassembled it into parts.
"General Stryker, I heard Professor X say that you used to be a good person with a middle-class sense of morality, loved your country, cared about your family, and were enthusiastic about your work, what made you what you are today?"
"War." Stryker said with a blank face, "War grows and distorts. ”
Luckily or not, that day, young Stryker waited for American artillery support before being captured by the guerrillas.
The bomber flew low above him, and the dropped explosives tumbled, leveling the hill directly.
He survived, and as an ordinary American soldier, he continued to struggle on the battlefield.
He grew up at a very fast pace, learned the tactical cultivation that an elderly soldier should have, learned to shoot at women and children with a smile, and learned to help his teammates cover up so that they could end the "battle" with Vietnamese village women as soon as possible before the arrival of the commander.
Because of his combat bravery and family background, he has risen all the way to the top, becoming the "commander" he needed to salute in the past, and as a middle-level member of the US military, he participated in the operational strategy decision-making of local battlefields.
In retaliation for the elusive Vietnamese guerrillas, the U.S. military began to drop defoliants.
The chemical, known as "Agent Orange" because it is contained in orange-striped iron drums, is so effective that tens of millions of liters of Agent Orange have devastating the forests of Vietnam, creating a path to death.
But the effects of Agent Orange don't stop there, as the devastating effects of biochemicals spread decades later, when pregnant women affected by Agent Orange give birth to horrific and distorted deformed babies.
Not one, not two, Agent Orange has created half a million deformed children in Vietnam and more than two million Vietnamese children suffering from cancer and other diseases.
Stryker had seen the gruesome photos, and perhaps he would have vomited guilty as a middle-class home-schooler before stepping foot on the battlefield.
But after becoming the "model soldier" advertised by the U.S. military, he has been able to face it all with a smile on his face.
"Enemies, not people." William said indifferently to Leon: "People have to find some reason for themselves to live in this dirty and despicable world, don't they? The reason I live is hatred.
Hatred for the enemy, hatred for the Vietnamese guerrillas, hatred for mutants.
It was hatred that made me what I am today. ”
Leon raised his eyebrows and chuckled softly, "I've heard your story that your son is a mutant who can create illusions, and you took him away from the Xavier Academy for gifted children founded by Professor X for the purpose of protecting him.
However, the illusionary without full training is so powerful that your son can't control his abilities and is constantly engaged in wide-area brainwave interference.
Finally, one day, your wife couldn't stand the strange visions and one afternoon she aimed an electric drill at her temple......"
"Shut up!" William Stryker exclaimed, "You don't understand anything!" Freak, I'm going to ....."
Leon indifferently grabbed his jaw and lifted him high in the air.
The terrible grip made General Stryker's face turn purple, and his stubby, bloated legs struggled and stirred in the air, looking extremely pitiful and comical.
"Kill me!" William roared, "Kill me, you mutant freak!" ”
"Hehe, while I'm the leader of these mutants for now, I'm not an anomaly." Li Ang smiled and said slowly: "And you can't die now, I have prepared a broader stage for you."
On that stage, you have the qualifications to end up with the whole world. ”
