Qimen and a few thoughts on fantasy novels

Next Chapter

First of all, I would like to thank my friends for their support of "Flag Gate", "Flag Gate" I have serialized on NetEase Culture and Sina and Starting Point, and everyone has put forward some of the same opinions.

First, the correspondence between the development of the plot and the relationship between the characters in the text is too bland and there are no sharp contradictions.

The second is that as a fantasy novel, some related magic theories are not described in detail. First of all, let's talk about this issue, although it is called fantasy, the sects and feng shui mathematical things mentioned in "Qimen" are all reasonable, and even involve the secrets of some sects in some aspects, but as a novel, the plot is important, and too much theoretical knowledge, I am afraid that ordinary readers will not be able to understand it.

In fact, "Flag Gate" was first conceived in early 2002, when there were not many fantasy works with the same theme, but then it was delayed because of some things, and it was not until the end of 04 that I started writing.

Therefore, the main style of "Qimen" is positioned on "Xuan" and "Qi", the protagonist in the book will never have a big adventure and become a peerless master, nor will there be a very strong conflict, and the whole book will be supported by countless mysterious bullets. Here are some of my thoughts on fantasy novels now, which are also the criteria for Qimen's creation.

Several sections of the Fantasy Novel

When it comes to fantasy novels, we have to mention Wesley and Huang Yi first. In fact, the former is mostly science fiction, and the latter has played a marginal ball. Wesley's novels are mostly about unsolved phenomena in astronomy, geography or physics, so he always tries to come up with rational theoretical and scientific explanations for the mystical phenomena he has created, although most of them end up putting hats on aliens. But some of the views are indeed convincing, as he himself has said, and even Hawking agrees with some of his views.

Huang Yi has written several fantasy-themed novels, but few of them can't jump away from Wesley, but some are more wonderful in terms of plot layout, and their influence is far less than his martial arts. And in his martial arts novels, he only wiped the edge of fantasy, he just raised Jin Yong Gulong's martial arts and martial arts to a higher level, in fact, the theory of "martial arts" was proposed by domestic professionals 17 years ago. "Xun Qin" played a game of time and space travel at the beginning, but it was still a routine of the Tang Dynasty after that. The fantasy outside of martial arts is really not worth mentioning, and a little professional person will know that if it is the same as the protagonist in the book, it only needs Xiao Zhoutian to really operate, and those thoughts are locked for dozens of meters, which is a very ordinary induction.

1. Time and space travel:

Since Xiang Shaolong jumped back to the Warring States Period, this trick has become fashionable, and at least 20% of the novels in Phantom Sword and Starting Point are dyed with popular yellow hair. Ancient people came to modern times, martial arts were strong and profound, and they relied on their superhuman skills, or became the boss of the underworld, or devoted themselves to business, or practiced chivalry, or joined government departments, calling for wind and rain. The experience of modern people returning to the past is roughly the same, and with the concept of modern advanced technology, there are countless beautiful women, and they form their own power and power, and I really can't help but want to say: "Dude, next time, please let the protagonist simply jump into the flying pig house, and let us see how the happy life of flying pig is?" ”

2. Virtual space:

On a virtual continent, there are several kingdoms, which are full of magic, elves, orcs, gods and demons, and the struggle between countries, the protagonist gradually grows from an unknown little person to a generation of overlords, experiencing ups and downs, mixed with brotherhood and beauty love, when the theme of the first virtual continent appears, we must admire the author's imagination, and there is a "Heavenly Demon God Tan" in the impression that it can be represented. But when the fourth and fifth parts come out, no matter what the plot is, but the touchable continent, the five elements, the water system, the fire system, the magic and demon world elves of light and darkness, etc., are like TV commercials, "Damn, except for calcium, we don't lack anything else?" ”

3. Adventures

Duan Yu's Ling Bo microstep, Ling Hu Chong's Dugu Nine Swords, and Zhang Wuji's Jiuyang Divine Skill are all adventures. But now, in order to make the protagonist fit the plot development as soon as possible, the authors have even omitted foreshadowing, and the protagonist has been given the power of aliens at the beginning, or the possession of fairies and monsters, or the genetic mutation of scientific experiments, or...... No, or, about the writer's door, I don't know about the 80s that fell from under the tree and fell out of a special function, damn, get rich overnight, in addition to winning the lottery 5 million, you can also go to rob ah!

Fourth, the cultivation of truth

This is a new term that refers to novels that focus on the practice of Buddhism. In addition to such adventures and monsters in "The Classic of Mountains and Seas", the authors almost all focus on the fight scenes, and the plot is just a semi-martial arts novel that packages Buddhism and Taoism. It's nothing more than someone's growth as the main line.,Fusion of the struggle between good and evil.,The layout is simple.,Description.,But what makes the group intolerable is the author's knowledge of the so-called cultivation.,I don't know anything at all.,The protagonist can fly with a sword.,I can't even do the basic inner vision.,All kinds of magic weapons are waved out.,But even the basic common sense of Buddhism and Taoism is not clear.,Writer,Hehe,Sure enough, it's just hands and no brains.。

Fifth, Huang Yi's plot

Huang Yi, who is a Hong Kong native, has won the design techniques of Hong Kong movie plots in the 80s in his novels, taking Datang as an example, the plot of this novel is actually very simple, neither bumpy nor tortuous, Xu Ziling and Kou Zhong's next encounter is almost expected for martial arts fans, but Huang Yi skillfully handled the plot like in the 80s Hong Kong gangster movies, with bloody and ups and downs, so that people know what the protagonist is going to do next, and the result must be happy and revenge, but the protagonist's extreme encounter, Let the reader can't wait to see the process of revenge or success of the protagonist, in order to generate the psychological pleasure of reading and visual.

And this technique is also the only thing that people can read in the current fantasy novels, but the sad thing is that this is just a technical means, not a wild imagination
