Chapter 4 of the Initial Chapter
Denton aimlessly twirled with the blood on his fingers until the temperature in the blood was completely gone.
In a trance, Denton remembered a report on the news before the great upheaval, saying that someone suddenly got a strange illness and attacked the people around him frantically. After a while, they will die due to organ failure. The source of this strange disease is unknown, it is extremely contagious, and there is no record of recovery after the onset of the disease.
The more I think about it, the stronger the headache feels, and the faster the blood flows. Eventually, Denton couldn't stand the severe headache and fainted again.
Is this going to die?
In a drowsy state, Denton vaguely saw a large mass of red in front of him, and the fiery red fluid was churning, resembling scorching magma. Looking closely, the rolling fluid had turned into a fireball towards Danton, and a burning heat that penetrated deep into his soul made Danton open his eyes in an instant.
Everything in Denton's vision took on a different color, and not far behind the rocks, a creature the size of a hare glowed a dazzling red, it was a mutated groundhog. Denton looked at his hands like two red-hot iron hands!
What's going on? What the hell is wrong with me!
The groundhog suddenly moved, and ran towards Denton at such a fast speed that it was in front of Denton's eyes in the blink of an eye, and then with a flap of its wings, it pounced on Denton's chest, its open mouth revealing a pair of sharp front teeth.
Denton unconsciously stretched out his hands and clamped them, just to stop the big rat by the waist.
"Squeak... Squeak"
The piercing cry carried a strong sense of breaking free, so that Denton could barely grasp it, and the big mouse frantically dug with its paws, but could only touch Denton's red hands.
A few seconds later, the head of the big mouse suddenly exploded with a "bang", and a small ball the size of a marble with a faint blue light popped out.
As soon as Denton reached out and grabbed the ball, it was soft and soft, a little cool, like a grain of jelly.
In the crimson field of vision, the ball glowed slightly blue, shining like a sapphire.
Eat it ... Ate ... It...
The voice from the depths of his head caused Denton's movements to begin to uncontrollably.
It melts in your mouth and has a faint fishy sweetness. All the heat and irritability dissipated in an instant, and everything was calm.
Denton felt that he should get a good night's sleep, a long, comfortable night's sleep...
The night of the wilderness was approaching, and an emaciated figure lay motionless in the corner. Suddenly, the figure shuddered violently and opened its eyes.
In the dark environment, Denton could clearly see what was around him, and if someone looked at Denton at this time, they would find that Denton's eyes were glowing green.
Countless fragments of voices came into Denton's mind, forming one picture after another, and the pictures began to switch in turn, faster and faster.
"Ah。。。。。。h
"What the hell is wrong with me?。。。"
Denton felt his head explode again, but he couldn't hold back his thoughts, and the pain began to slowly subside, and finally subsided. As soon as the pain subsided, the small sound began to pour into his brain again, and the pain was faintly about to flare up, and Denton hurriedly controlled his thoughts. After a few attempts, Denton was finally able to control his mind and try not to think about the complicated stuff.
Denton looked at his hands, and after thinking for a while, the palms of his hands exuded a comfortable temperature, and as his mind changed, the temperature gradually increased, and the feeling of heat became more and more intense, and the feeling of dizziness seemed to be absent.
In the long dark and cold night, a pair of eyes could be faintly seen, sometimes shining green, sometimes turning red.
The early morning sun was a little late, and a figure kept shuttling among the rocks, stopping to pick up something that was usable as soon as it saw it, and then returning to the workers' dormitory.
"Ahh My physical fitness seems to have improved a lot! Looks like God doesn't want me to die like that silent!"
A large pile of firewood was piled up at the door of the dilapidated workers' quarters, next to a large pile of debris that Denton had collected, most of which were indestructible household utensils, and then the barbecue grill he had found earlier, on which two skinned marmots were strung together.
Denton looked at the barbecue grill in front of him with a puzzled expression, and the pink rat meat on it was actually a little tempting. Denton closed his eyes, and opened them again after a moment.
"What the hell is to do? Who's going to tell me!"
Danton stood up abruptly and shouted loudly into the distance, only to respond to Denton's dense fog that was gradually dissipating in the distance, and a black line was faintly visible that stretched to the horizon.
Denton's eyes suddenly lit up, as if he had thought of something, and rummaged through the clutter. After a while, a musty map was found, and Denton stared at the map for a long time, and finally a smile appeared on his face.
"It seems that God has given guidance!"
Denton seemed to have a sudden motivation and immediately began to organize his things. Soon, Denton's body was once again full of large bags and small bags, only this time he had no weapons in his hands.
"Once you're done in Lahle, let it be!"
Denton gripped a piece of wood and snorted, white smoke rising from his hand, and then flames erupted. Denton, however, did not feel the slightest heat in his hands, and only threw it into the pyre when the fire was boiling.
Denton stared at his palm, and there was nothing but excessive redness.
The pyre was soon ignited, and Denton kicked it out, and the barbecue grill flew into the fire with two marmots, making a "sizzle" sound.
Not far away, the dense fog gradually dissipated, and a railway line could be vaguely seen stretching towards the sky. Denton didn't look back, and walked straight away.
"So it's close to Rahele!"
Denton checked the map again and confirmed that it was the direct railway to Lahel.
Denton was surrounded by large machinery for loading and unloading, and several thick steel beams pressed against the elongated trailer, whose tires were shriveled and supported by the hubs, and it was covered with thick rust, from which it was evident that all the steel produced by the steelworks was loaded and unloaded.
"It turns out that this is the first steel mill in Lahel, in this case, it is only more than 100 kilometers away from Lahel, and with my current physical strength, I have to walk along the railway for three whole days! But there's no food in between, and that's a problem!"
Thinking of this, Denton turned back again, the fire was almost extinguished, and the two marmots were as black as charcoals, like freshly baked sweet potatoes.
"Bring it with you! You can't eat rails, can you? ”
By the time Denton began to advance, the sun was already in the sky, but it was dimly obscured by a thick gray cloud, and a gust of autumn wind blew, bringing a desolation.
The rails were covered in rust, and it was hard to imagine how shiny they used to be.
From time to time, a faint red light flashed in Denton's eyes, but unfortunately he found nothing, not even the groundhog that had been hiding in the crevice of the stone. Adelaide, once a biological paradise, is now just dead silent.
Denton walked forward silently with his head down, his mind blank, he didn't know how to describe this loneliness, but fortunately, his inexplicably enhanced ability could make him stand in the cold autumn wind.
The warmth of the sun was not as warm as it was before the great upheaval, but the time that remained was even shorter, and the night crept in. An unusually biting cold wind blew in Denton's face, and Denton observed his surroundings with his glowing green eyes.
The railroad tracks were still on the left, the endless wilderness on the right, and the road Denton had come from behind.
In such an environment, although Denton could see things clearly as during the day, his visual distance was much shorter, and he soon felt a little dizzy, and the fatigue of the day immediately exploded.
Denton took out a small bottle of unopened mineral water from his backpack, and when he was about to open the lid, he found that the water was already in a semi-frozen state!
"Is the hard winter coming so soon?"
With a slight force in his hand, the ice cubes in the bottle quickly began to melt, and even the plastic bottle began to swell slightly.
"That's right!"
Denton carefully twisted the cap, and with a "bang", the cap flew somewhere.
"That's it!"
Denton pressed his strength into the water bottle again, and soon, the water in the bottle began to steam!
"Haha..."
After a sip of hot water, all the fatigue was swept away, and the brain was even clearer.
"Uh... Where did the lid go? ”
After searching for the bottle, but still unable to find the cap, Denton hesitated for a moment, drank the remaining water in the vial, and became more and more energetic.
"What's up ahead?"
As soon as Denton was about to find a sheltered place to spend the night, he noticed that there seemed to be something on the railroad tracks in front of him, and he instantly cheered up and cautiously approached the target.
