Chapter 5: Confession II

"Ahh Harry sneezed again. Pen~fun~Ge www.biquge.info he took out a handkerchief from his pocket and wiped his already red nose clean. For some reason, his nose was particularly itchy in the past few minutes, and he sneezed several times in a row.

"Are you alright, Master Harry?" A figure beside him who looked like a butler asked. "You sneezed a lot just now, did you catch a cold?"

"It's okay Connally, thank you for your concern." Even though his own tears were about to be thrown out, Harry's etiquette was still quite in place. "It's just that my nose is a little itchy, so I guess I accidentally inhaled dust."

After a busy day, the interns finally ushered in their own free time. At this moment, the sky, which had been covered by dark clouds for most of the morning, began to drizzle, and it was still getting heavier and heavier. By the time they had straightened their backpacks and gone through the security checkpoint again, the drizzle had turned into a torrential downpour, and the raindrops were already the size of soybeans and crackling on the window panes.

Several of the interns who had forgotten to bring their umbrellas let out a groan of despair, while Peter snickered.

Hehe, I'm totally ready.

A smug Peter took out a large umbrella from his backpack and smiled at Gwen, signaling that she didn't have to worry about getting wet. Gwen didn't see Peter's gesture. She lowered her head and opened her bag, and took out a small flower umbrella from it. Peter was stunned for a moment.

Damn it... She brought an umbrella with her, too! How could she bring an umbrella too? Wait, it's not normal for her not to bring it, right!? The weather forecast has already said that it will rain, why do I think she hasn't seen it before going out?

The first preparation of his ideal plan did not work, and Peter was a little discouraged. But he didn't show that on his face either. The two of them each opened their umbrellas and stepped into the rain.

A strong wind blew, and Gwen screamed. The umbrella in her hand was not held steady for a while, and it was almost blown away. Peter grabbed the pole of the umbrella with a quick hand, giving Gwen a chance to regain his grip. She lowered her head after grasping the umbrella, and watched with some distress as she took her skirt, which was already half wet.

"This is my favorite dress," she muttered a little unhappily, and Peter didn't know how to comfort her, so he patted her on the shoulder.

"It's okay, just go back and put it in the dryer for more than ten minutes." Peter said lamely, and Gwen just gave him a blank look, and didn't say anything.

Their destination, Jasmine Cafe, is not far from the Osborne Tower. The shop is also frequented by employees of the Osborne Group due to their well-known bagels. Peter and Gwen had been here two or three times before, and their impression of the place was not bad.

In the midst of the heavy rain, the road of less than three blocks seemed quite long. By this time the pedestrians in the street had quickened their pace, and hurried to their destination as quickly as possible, while Gwen and Peter were still strolling leisurely like that. If others take a closer look, they can see that both of them have thoughts on their faces.

"Say." Gwen suddenly spoke. "This is the last week of the internship, and school will start next week."

"Well, school starts next week." Peter nodded. He didn't know why Gwen had suddenly mentioned this, and wisely didn't say much.

"Well, I'm afraid we're going to be very busy. I don't think there's much time and opportunity to play and chat together like this. Speaking of which, Gwen looked a little sad. We're not a school after all. ”

"That's right." Peter's mood was also a little low. "You're at Glenway Girls' High School and I'm at Midtown High School. The two schools are separated by most of Manhattan. ”

"Peter, you really don't comfort a girl at all." Gwen rolled Peter's eyes again. "I am even more upset when you say that. I met so many new friends in this internship, I don't know how much practice I can keep in the future. ”

"Well, I just need to keep in touch with you, you're the only new friend I've ever met." Peter said honestly, and Gwen smiled and grimaced at him.

"Am I supposed to feel honored? Mr. Parker? ”

"I think mercy might be more appropriate, Miss Stacy." Seeing that the melancholy on Gwen's face had receded a little, Peter began to laugh at himself. As a withdrawn man who has not had friends for many years, he will definitely not be able to stand it if his heart is not relaxed. Now, at least, he still finds joy in his misfortunes to entertain himself.

They laughed and joked a few words, and walked to the door of Jasmine's Cafe, where Peter put away his umbrella under the eaves and put his hand on the doorknob. To his surprise, the door was locked.

"Peter, look at this." Gwen gestured to the falling glass house next to the door of the café, with a piece of paper taped to it. Peter hurried up, and before he could read a few words, he felt his heart slowly sinking.

"Because of instrument failure... So it's closed today, how can it be—" Peter muttered a little distractedly, and Gwen frowned as she watched the rain still fall heavier and heavier in the sky.

"If you don't open the door today, forget it, it's okay if we come back tomorrow." She proposed. "It's raining too much today, and a few other good ones are a bit far from here. Let's go home today, I'm crazy to change my clothes now. ”

She lifted the soaked corner of her dress. "This wet feeling is so uncomfortable, it sticks to the skin and is blown by the cold wind..."Speaking of this, she couldn't help but shiver.

Realizing that his plans had completely collapsed, Peter, who was a little distracted, nodded heavily. Something suddenly occurred to him, and he took off his coat and draped it over Gwen's shoulders. Gwen was a little surprised at first, and subconsciously wanted to refuse, but before she could say anything, Peter blocked her.

"It's okay." Peter smiled, wearing only a shirt, he looked a little thin in the storm. "I'm not afraid of the cold, and I can still withstand this temperature."

Gwen hesitated, but accepted Peter's kindness with the encouragement of his smile. After a brief goodbye, the two left in opposite directions. Peter was catching his bus, and Gwen's home was only a ten-minute walk away.

Peter took two steps, his heart was heavy, and the good mood of the morning seemed to have been knocked to the bottom. He could only comfort himself one by one.

Tomorrow, tomorrow has already said that I will come again, and it is not too late to confess when the time comes.

Although he thought so in his heart, for some reason, Peter was always a little unwilling. He gritted his teeth and stopped, as if he had made a decision.

"Wait a minute!" Turning suddenly, Peter ran towards Gwen. "Wait a minute."

Gwen stopped when she heard the shouting. She turned to look at Peter, a little puzzled on her face. "What's wrong?"

"I... I, I like you, Gwen! After stammering for a while, Peter's mind went blank and he said the penultimate sentence of his line. Gwen didn't seem to understand what he was saying, and the expression on her face became even more confused.

"Uh... Peter...?"

"I like you!" Peter pinched his thigh and took a deep breath. He rubbed his interlaced hands unnaturally, feeling his lips dry and about to crack.

"We've known each other for a long time, haven't we?" The words came out of Peter's mouth without a clue, as if it were a line from his card, but the order and train of thought had been completely messed up by himself. Card! Yes, he needs cards!

"Hmm... It's been a month. Ge Wen, who hadn't reacted yet, replied subconsciously. Peter's hand was in the pocket of his pants, and he was trying to find out the contents.

"You are really kind! I, I you know, everybody doesn't like me. Well, it's not that I don't like it. At this time, Peter finally felt the card in his pocket and immediately pulled it out. It is... It's hard to communicate with everyone. ”

Just take a look, just take a look. He was almost desperate, and prayed in his heart that this confession was about to be turned into a farce by him, but he still hoped that he would have a chance to save it. However, his fingers did accidentally loosen up, and the cards in his hand were scattered on the ground.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry!" He bowed his head and apologized in a panic.

Now he didn't even dare to look into Gwen's eyes. He immediately sat down on his knees, trying to pick up the cards. However, it was all in vain, and when he picked up the cards, the handwriting on them was already unrecognizable. He blinked his eyes hard, trying not to let his tears flow.

Everything was ruined by his own stupidity, Peter thought to himself. What he wants to do most now is to crash into the pillar and die, so that he will be a hundred and will not have to face all this.

After a while, he got up in embarrassment, and mustered up a little courage to look at Gwen's face. And he was surprised to find that Gwen's face was not disgusted or ridiculed, and was looking at him with a very strange expression.

"Are you confessing?" She asked. Peter's cheeks quickly flushed, and he nodded his head twice.

"But," she said, laughing and crying. "Aren't we already dating?"
