Hearing this, Peter was in a trance. Pen | fun | pavilion www. ο½ο½ο½ο½ο½ο½ γ ο½ο½ο½ο½
Father... It's a long time ago.
Since the plane crash when he was five years old, he has been adopted by Uncle Ben and Aunt May. And they all decided to try not to mention it in front of Peter as much as possible, and silently took on the responsibility of Peter's parents. Peter, who lost his parents at a young age, never felt abandoned, and Uncle Ben and Aunt May gradually became his true parents.
What kind of person is his father?
Cheerful? Clever? Perseverance?
Peter couldn't remember all of this at all. The only memory of his father is a scene in a small park. I forgot when I was there, I forgot how I got there, and I didn't even have the slightest impression of the name and appearance of the small park. All he remembered was swinging on the swing, his dad pushing behind him, and his mom taking pictures of the two of them. He remembered that he was quite happy, just because his father hadn't played with him like that for a long time.
Peter wasn't even sure what his parents looked like in his memory. He had only seen his parents in photographs, and their appearance in photographs gradually replaced the vague images in his memory.
Norman, however, showed another side of his father to Peter's eyes.
"Richard is the smartest man I've ever met. Maybe he's a little stubborn, maybe he's a little too perfectionist. But there is no doubt that God has given him a perfect brain. Norman stroked the cuffs of his suit, clearly with some emotion. Only thirty-two years old... If Heaven could give him another twenty years, there would be no doubt that he could change the world. β
"In the biological sciences, he sees farther than the rest of us, always two steps ahead of us. When we first invented the wheel, he had already created the first steam locomotive. Norman also fell into his own memories, with a smile on his lips. Without him, I am afraid that there would be no Osborne industry today. Unfortunately, in the end, the difference in philosophy made him leave everything he had created. β
"I never knew about these things." Peter was a little shocked, his brain still digesting the new information. "He never told me, and neither did Aunt Mei and Uncle Ben."
"I'm not surprised at all." Norman. A meaningful smile appeared on Osborne's face. "Richard he... Although he has always had the greatest ideals, he still likes to protect himself with secrets. β
-----
When Peter walked out of Norman's office, it felt as if the whole world had changed from before he had entered, and Harry was constantly looking at Peter with strange eyes.
"Your dad used to be friends with my dad." Harry, who had barely spoken a few words in his office just now, finally let out his exclamation. "I actually made a random friend at school who has such a deep connection to our family..."
"Hey, hey, what do you mean by making friends casually?" Peter pretended to be upset, and Harry lay behind him with a dead face.
"We are really destined, and we are destined to be partners. What will be our nickname in the future? Parkburn or Osk? Wait, the latter one might be a little weird, maybe someone will sue you..."Before he could finish speaking, he was pushed away by an impatient Peter.
"Fuck off! What is fate, I'm not a! Peter looked disgusted.
-----
The meeting with Norman took a lot longer than he expected. When Peter said goodbye to Harry, he found that he was running out of time for his lunch break.
By the time he arrived at the meeting point, the rest of the group had already arrived, and it appeared that they had been there for a while. Gwen also seems to have a new good friend and is having a good chat with an Asian girl. Peter waved his hand at Gwen a little embarrassed, but she didn't even see her as she was talking.
A little discouraged, Peter found himself back in his normal ways. The others seemed to have found their own team, but they were the only ones who had no partners to talk to. He silently walked to the corner, took out the materials he had received in the morning, and began to read.
The door to the lab was pushed open at one o'clock in the afternoon, and all the interns walked in in an orderly manner.
This afternoon's schedule is for an experiment in DNA extraction and isolation. The experiment was not difficult in terms of principle or practical steps, and Instructor Handley quickly explained the whole experiment.
"Okay, so the basic principles and steps of this experiment have been explained, do you have any questions?" Handley looked at the eight interns in front of him, and nodded when he saw that no one had answered. "You're going to work in pairs for this next DNA isolation experiment. Let me report you to your group. β
"Autumn. Zhang and Oliver. Wood, you're going to use test bed one. β
"Simon. Pate and Avado. Levi, you're going to use test bench number two. β
"John. Reece, you and Sarah. Connor on test bench three. β
"Finally, Peter. Parker and Gwen. Stacy, you're going to use the fourth test bed. β
Ge Wen looked at the boy in front of her with a stupid smile with a somewhat complicated look and sighed. Although she doesn't have any dislike for him, every time it's always such a coincidence, she has a weird feeling.
"Alright. We won't waste any more time. This experiment took more than ten hours to complete using traditional methods. Although our instruments were able to speed up the process in less than two hours, we still had to hurry up as quickly as possible. As each intern walked to their respective tables, Handley clapped his hands and began to quickly revisit the process of the experiment with them. And after this last speech, the groups also began to get busy at their own test tables.
"It's a bit of a coincidence, isn't it?" Peter, who was a little nervous, spoke out again for a lame pick-up, while Gwen was inexplicably amused.
"It's quite fateful."
Peter was silent for a moment, then spoke again with hope: "How? After the internship this afternoon, let's go have a cup of coffee together? β
"Asking girls out always has to be a little foreshadowing, a little creative, right? Where did you learn this old-fashioned approach? Gwen skilfully avoided answering the question head-on, and asked Peter instead.
"It seems to be pretty good in the movie." As soon as he said this, Peter began to retreat in his heart, trying to write off what had just happened with laughter. However, Gwen seemed to find it amusing Peter and did not let him go so easily.
"Well, let me ask you a question. What benefits can I get by going out for coffee with you? β
Peter's brain, who was momentarily asked, began to run rapidly, but after thinking about it for a long time, he still didn't come up with any good answer.
"I'll pay for the coffee...?" He tentatively gave his answer.
"That's right." Peter seemed to remember something, and there was a slight excitement on his face. "There is a coffee shop near here and the cheesecake is amazing! Honestly, you won't regret it. β
Ge Wen looked at the boy in front of her, who may have been late for two or three years, and couldn't even speak a little sweetly. She felt amused, and even had a feeling of teasing him more.
"Then why don't you tell me the name of this coffee shop and I'll eat alone?"
Peter was speechless for a moment, and then bowed his head and replied with some frustration. "Then I won't be able to eat..."
After being stunned for a moment, Ge Wen burst out laughing, and slapped the experimental table in front of her again and again, almost out of breath. Within a few seconds, Handley came to Gwen with a look of dissatisfaction.
"Miss Stacy, maybe you don't value this internship, it doesn't matter to us. But would you please be a little respectful of others? β
Forced to suppress her laughter, Gwen apologized again and again, promising that she would not do it again, and then Handley left satisfied. Peter, who was standing on the sidelines and watching Gwen being disciplined, was a little embarrassed.
"I'm sorry." He apologized in a low voice, while Gewen on the side waved her hand, and her mood seemed to be much better.
"It's okay, I haven't laughed like this in a long time, it's kind of flat."
"Let's have coffee after thatβ" Peter felt as if there was a little more hope in it, and spoke tentatively again.
"Don't~!" Ge Wen refused, but she didn't seem to show an angry expression. "How could a lady agree to such a thing so rashly? We're just getting to know each other today. β
"Naming..?" Peter still didn't give up. "Well, I mean, next week?"
"Of course, I'll talk about it later." Gwen smiled slyly, and then began to concentrate on the preparation steps for the experiment. "Don't procrastinate, come over and help. I don't want to be trained again by Handsley Instructors. β
"Hmm, okay." Peter stepped forward, still a little disappointed, and he felt that he had messed up the conversation again.
Brother Harry, you're right. I should have practiced a little more on this...
