Chapter Ninety-Five: The Battle of Monsters
Luke felt his head a little foggy at this point.
It was as if he had a long dream, a terrible nightmare. A voice had been whispering in his ear in the dream, but no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't hear what the voice was saying.
Sound... It seemed to get louder, but the magic was that even every word the voice said was so clear in his brain. But I still don't know what it means.
Forget it, so be it, it's not bad to go on like this. Luke couldn't help but think so, and as his own struggles vanished, his mind fell back into the deepest recesses of consciousness once more.
-----
What happened to him?
Quickly dodging the opponent's pounce, Barnes found that the opponent's speed had dropped, and even the aggression had decreased slightly. And Barnes clearly understood that his few attacks just now did hurt him, but it was definitely not to the extent that the other party showed it.
This phenomenon only lasted for a few seconds before disappearing, and the other party returned to his beast-like state, which made Barnes relax a little.
The other party's situation has been known in the previous calls with other teammates. Conventional bullets can't penetrate the opponent's skin, and blunt blows seem to be a little more effective, but the effect is quite limited. As for the physical strength, it is initially expected to be about three to four times that of an elite warrior, but the speed is only a little faster than that of an ordinary person, that is, equivalent to the level of a national athlete.
As for the tricks...
Looking at the punch coming at him, Barnes easily dodged its trajectory. The opponent's poor fighting skills are naturally full of flaws in his eyes, and he can come up with at least three or more countermeasures for almost every move of the opponent. If it weren't for that cheating defense, I'm afraid Rumlow would have been able to outmaneuver in close combat.
Another punch slammed into Luke's chest, and the pistol in Barnes' right hand let out a roar of its own almost at the same time. Luke, who had been knocked back two steps, was shot in the head again, causing his whole body to shake and stagger.
After losing that absolute power advantage, Luke's situation also got worse and worse. Although his own physical defense is comparable to that of a main battle tank, that doesn't mean he can't get hurt. His skin could block almost any conventional weapon, but the force of a powerful attack was still enough to hurt his guts through that skin.
And his slower and slower movements proved it, and a few traces of blood oozed from the corners of his eyes and nostrils from time to time, and he looked quite terrifying.
Barnes, however, showed no mercy. His metal left arm easily defused Luke's attacks as he grew weaker and weaker with a sharp buzz, and each counterattack unleashed full force, sending his force into Luke's body to deal more damage. The pistol in his right hand will also interrupt Luke's rhythm at the right time, creating more opportunities for him to attack.
In just thirty seconds, Luke was punched and shot four times and three times. The injuries he had received from the battle had begun to accumulate gradually, and his vision began to blur.
Once again, he was repelled by a punch from Barnes, but this time Luke didn't have the sharpness he had before. He lowered his head and gasped for air for a few seconds before he looked up again and looked at Barnes with his bloodshot eyes.
Isn't it almost dying...
The thought crossed Barnes' mind, and he clenched the pistol in his hand, then moved his shoulder again. The high-intensity exercise just now was still a lot of burden on his mechanical left arm, but it was more than enough to complete the battle.
It's time to get rid of this guy once and for all. The power output in Barnes' left arm was turned up to the maximum, towards Luke. Cage rushed forward. His left fist, which seemed to be roaring, slammed into Luke's face like silver lightning.
"Bang!"
The dull sound of the crash was as loud as thunder. Luke's whole body shook, his arms hanging limply, and a large amount of blood oozing from the corners of his eyes and nostrils. He tried to raise his fists again, but his feet went limp and it was difficult to even maintain his position.
Barnes drew his tactical dagger. Luke, on the other hand, raised his head and looked at the enemy who was walking unhurriedly towards him with his dull eyes.
"Kill him..."
For some reason, he felt that the voice in his head seemed to be a little clearer. The devilish whispers burrowed into his brain like worms, shattering all his thoughts one by one and turning them into fuel for his own murderous intent.
"Kill him..."
"Ahhh Luke opened his mouth, spat out a mouthful of blood with shards of teeth, and then roared, stooping over and charging at Barnes like a bull.
Barnes stretched out his left arm, but the next second he realized he had made the wrong decision. It erupted with an astonishing force within his body that he thought was almost unsupportable, and a blow that should have been easily blocked completely overwhelmed his power. Barnes subconsciously took a step back, wanting to unload a little of the force of the blow.
However, Luke showed a terrifying beastly instinct at this time. The moment Barnes moved his legs, he also retracted his strength almost at the same time, and then threw another punch into Barnes's lower abdomen.
Barnes, whose feet hadn't hit the ground yet, couldn't dodge at all and was hit head-on by the punch. He was knocked straight out of the way, and his body slammed into the brick wall behind him. There was a throbbing pain in his chest, and his vision darkened. It was the first time he had been wounded in the fight, but the blow wiped out most of the advantage he had previously built.
Luke, still in a state of rage, grabbed a sign pole on the side of the road and pulled it out of the cement alive. After Luke swung it twice, the pole stabbed like a spear into Barnes's chest. Even if it's definitely not a decent weapon, with this level of strength and speed, it's more than enough to split an adult in two with a piece of iron at the top.
Recovering from the trauma, Barnes put his robotic arm on the pole at the last minute. The sound of sharp metal grinding and deformation rang out.
The fragile metal was no stronger than plasticine under his fingers, and the entire front of the signboard was twisted and destroyed by the burst of sparks and metal shards, and the length was suddenly a full third. Luke pumped his weapon, re-angled it slightly, and stabbed it in Barnes' throat again.
Barnes' left arm grabbed Luke's wrist and tried to pull his opponent's arm apart, while his own knee was headed towards his opponent's lower body. And Luke. Cage didn't dodge, and ate a blow that was enough to make any man roll to the ground and howl in pain. His eyes were blood-red, and he squeezed every ounce of energy in his body to thrust the steel rod into Barnes's chest.
"Die! Die! Die! ”
Luke's muffled roar seemed to energize his own drumbeat. Barnes began to fall into the fold in this battle of pure brute force. As his arm retreated, the steel rod was less than an inch away from Barnes's heart. Even as its structure twisted and changed under these two forces, its shattered tip still shimmered with a sharp cold light.
