Chapter Ninety-Nine: Breath of Darkness

These rays of light are like ceiling lights in the ceiling, the only difference is that they are not fixed, as if a thousand threads of thought are moving here.

I didn't dare to think any deeper, because I inexplicably felt that these lights, and perhaps their thoughts, were cumbersome and discreet.

Those thoughts, could it be that I am now, when I think about what they are, I am also responding with their light.

It is a complex state of thought, and the light above the head seems to compose words and languages, whose activities, though not uniform, interact to maintain the integrity of this web.

The cave in front of me finally got closer, I took out a flashlight from my mouth, and first looked back at the sand behind me, it was already flowing over, but after all, there was a difference in distance and speed, so it was just past my calf.

The light above me kept wriggling, but it was still some distance away from me, so I didn't worry much about it

Shaking my flashlight again, I shone into the holes, where they were irregularly distributed and of different sizes.

Looking through several large cavities, I saw that it was dark inside, and even a few small holes in the vicinity.

I can't see the rest of the things too clearly because of the distance, but vaguely, there is also the movement of quicksand here.

The sand flowed down the low slope through the hole, including the place I am in now.

Along the nearest cave, I looked all the way around, and slowly put my head in, only to see a path similar to a mountain path in the cave, spiraling down the cave.

He raised his hand and shone into the air, it was pitch black, and there was no edge in sight, and the space should be very large, and if the quicksand was excreted here, it might make room for the current place.

But when they looked at the glowing nets above their heads, they wondered if the hollows were their nests.

If so, why are they entrenched here, and if the quicksand engulfs the current space, will they also be buried and eventually fall off.

Hey, what am I thinking?

Shaking my head, I told myself not to worry about these useless things, now that the quicksand is still pouring out, I can only find a way to get out of here first, maybe I can only come back again when the quicksand is completely gone.

As I spoke, I searched through the hollows one by one, looking for the closest place in size to a person and to the downward passage.

But after I searched for dozens of cavities in a row, I was distracted again, because I found that in the inner cavern, although the space was large, there was not even the slightest bit of light at all.

Even, when I turned off the flashlight, I saw that the inside and the outside seemed to be two worlds.

The light outside converged to form a strange river, and through these hollows, it was pitch black, and if everything here was not a natural formation, then such a means of construction had another meaning, like a kind of death trap.

The life of the whole body and the death that permeates the abyss will be a more wonderful doctrine.

Taking a step back, the quicksand around him trickled down from the hole at his feet, like a one-way fountain of life, blindly advancing in the dark world of death, until it was divided into different areas, and finally disappeared here.

With such a reference, it shows the importance of the existence of life as a whole, because only the light volatilized by the whole can illuminate everything and make the traps around us undoubted.

Thinking about this, I finally found a suitable cavity farther away, some distance from the ground, and there was no other place for the sand to flow out of it.

Looking down, I carefully drilled in, and turned around to shine a flashlight downward, the inside of the cave, I was not far from the entrenched road, about a meter or so.

Calculating the approximate distance, it was about the same height as mine, so I supported my body with my hands and carefully slid down the stone wall.

The stone walls around me are smooth and hard, and there are no abrupt edges and corners, and I can't find a place to borrow here.

It seems to have been semi-artificially excavated, but I found no signs of polishing, so I conclude that most of it is natural.

However, it cannot be ruled out that someone has made some kind of fixed mechanism here, so that the current situation is constituted.

After my arms were stretched to the maximum distance, I tried to grope down with my feet, but I couldn't get to the ground.

I knew that the distance here was not too high, so I shone my flashlight downwards again, and then I realized that the field was not far away.

After calculating the approximate distance, I was afraid that if I let go too quickly, my body would become unbalanced and I would plant from here.

I shook the flashlight behind me again, and I felt that it was very deep underneath, and if it was really planted, it was not a joke.

Therefore, I tried to lean my body into the stone wall, carefully let go of one hand, stabilized my center of gravity, and then used my free hand to support the stone wall to avoid unnecessary "injury"

With a heavy backpack on my back, it was difficult for me to keep my weight close to the rock wall.

When I let go of my other hand again, I stepped on the ground all of a sudden, but because of the sudden sinking of my center of gravity, my body couldn't help but deviate outward, so I immediately held on to the stone wall and squatted down, so that I did not deviate outward again.

Turning my body slowly, I leaned my back here, rubbing my tightened, sore arm as I looked around, and from here, the entire huge cavern was in my eyes.

The place where I was a narrow winding road, and at the mouth of the hole not far away, streams of quicksand fell.

There was a lot of echo here, proving that there was a lot of space, and there was quicksand in more than one place, and I looked up a few times and saw that there was also a hole diagonally above where I was now, where quicksand was falling.

The flashlight shook a few times in that direction, and strangely enough, only that one hollow had quicksand, and a few nearby, but there were none.

Seeing this, I can't help but wonder if there is another person here.

Thinking so, I followed the quicksand, but it was so dark that I couldn't find anything at all.

After resting for a while, I was ready to walk down the narrow winding path to the bottom of the sand flow.

Before, I could only look at the outside, and I only knew that it was a coiled road, until I came down, and I found that this coiled road was not only very narrow, but also very steep, and it rotated downward in a threaded shape.

It didn't feel like it was too far away, but I dodged the quicksand above my head, and after walking forward for a distance, I only felt like I was going down, but when I looked up, I found that the hole in another place was still far away from me.

I know exactly how far I've walked since I first came down, so I should be very close to that place at this distance.

But the facts in front of me have already explained everything, which makes me a little suspicious, and I shine the flashlight downward, and what I see is still darkness.

I thought to myself, could it be because of the degree of curvature of the winding road here, which made me have an error in my sense of distance.

It was strange, but I didn't think much of it and kept walking, but I didn't keep looking up at my surroundings because I felt that would exacerbate the imbalance of distance.

As I walked along the road around me, I realized that the road was narrow at first, but it would gradually widen as I looked deeper into the whole place.

By the time I counted to a thousand, I felt almost there, and by this time the track was more than a meter wide.

But when I looked up again, I was surprised to find that I had missed the place I had been looking for.

It wasn't like I was overwhelmed, I didn't hear the sand at all when I walked over, and although I was careful for a few seconds, I shouldn't have missed it anyway!

It's quiet here, except for the sound of quicksand, only the sound of my footsteps remains, and the place where I came down before, the sound of quicksand is so heavy that I feel harsh when I hear it, but why didn't I hear it at all this time?

Is it because the distance between the hole and the ground is very high, unlike the hole I came down from before, the drop is so low?

However, if you look at the wider roads around you, if it is because of the difference in distance, the sound of sand falling on the ground will increase as the ground widens.

Although it felt weird, I didn't want to go back, and when I looked at the flashlight, the quicksand seemed to be endless, and I don't know when it started, but it seemed to never end.

Withdrawing my gaze, I looked down again, but it was still the same, I couldn't see anything clearly, but I still hit the flashlight under the quicksand.

There was a faint suspicion in my heart, that there was something imperceptible there.

It's a circular winding road, and there's no end to it, so I'll find out the reason sooner or later, so I'm starting to walk forward again.

I also unconsciously remembered all kinds of possibilities, including what I had just experienced, as well as under the quicksand, and where those quicksand came from.

I quickly got into my mind, and the space in my mind kept expanding, from where I came, and the sand.

Before I knew it, I had walked for a long time before I suddenly looked up, but the moment I stopped, the light of my flashlight shone into the darkness.

A thin sound of quicksand sounded in my ears, but there seemed to be something mixed in there, and I felt it was right above my head, so I slowly turned on the flashlight.

In the pillar of light, I saw the sand falling without falling, but in some of the sand, it was actually stuck together by a liquid.

The particles were washed down by a large stream of sand and landed on the flashlight, and in an instant a patch of red appeared in the pillar of light, covering a patch of light.

I took a cautious step back, away from the quicksand, and shone my flashlight upwards along the sandflow, where there was a bloodstain that had been washed down by the sandflow.

And what just fell on the flashlight was the sand that was stuck together with blood.
