Chapter 212: Seeking

Trains to the coast are relatively unpopular, and the carriages are empty. Ling Shucheng sat by the window for the third time today and posed in a daze.

Sitting across from us was a young couple. The girl looked thin and small but extremely active, while the boy was tall and strong, but his voice was a little shy. After ten stops of talking and laughing, the two of them actually fell asleep on the back of the chair, but one head up and the other head down.

The time spent on the journey was a little longer than Ling Shucheng had estimated. He watched the rapidly regressing scenery outside the window change from high-rise buildings to bungalows, from bungalows to farmland, and finally only the lampposts standing next to the roadbed could still reveal a little smell of human activity. The world after the rain has no strong colors, and the vast countryside is deep and quiet, like an ancient picture covered with dust.

It's a pity that the speeding train doesn't leave enough time for the bystanders who happen to pass by. Everything is pale or splendid and disappears without even the imagination of the mind.

When Ling Shucheng stepped into the sand, it was almost completely dark.

Under the low sky, the gray tide gradually flooded the beach. The fingernail-sized crab was disturbed by groups of passers-by and left a shallow scratch on the sand, and soon disappeared into a small hole. The little couple who got off the bus with Ling Shucheng were crying out for regret that they had scheduled to travel in advance to see the sunset, while the children who were searching for shells with small buckets were cheering for today's harvest. The pile of students who were tossing the bonfire not far away looked a little familiar, and before Ling Shucheng could confirm it, a little girl had already taken the lead and waved at him enthusiastically.

The wet sea breeze was blowing, Ling Shucheng stepped into the sticky sand one foot at a time, and just after a short pause, he was temporarily used as a barrier by the two children who were fighting, and circled around him wildly left and right.

So Ling Shucheng continued to stay motionless seriously, it wasn't too difficult for him anyway. Until one of the children squatted on the spot and began to cry because he suspected that he couldn't beat him, the middle-aged woman who rushed to hear the sound didn't give him much time to be at a loss. After a few thanks and apologies, the two little ones, who were not half as tall as Ling Shucheng, were caught under the woman's squeaky nest and taken away.

There was silence again. Ling Shucheng's expression was still stunned.

It's weird. He thought.

The dotted lights gradually brightened up, reflecting on the floating sea. Visitors play in the water in twos and threes, as if they are really carefree.

There is no clear purpose, no urgent tasks, and even words like "homeland" are no longer relevant. This is the first time in his life that Ling Shucheng has come to the beach so lightly.

Suddenly, a sentence that didn't make any sense flashed through his mind.

The hustle and bustle here makes it feel peaceful.

He followed the example of the other tourists, spread his arms in the wind, and closed his eyes.

A hundred kinds of flavors are churning in the chest. In the darkness, Ling Shucheng seemed to feel many indistinguishable shadows rushing past him.

What would they say if they saw what they were like now?

The cool wind poured into the sleeves of his shirt, and the cracked wound was still dull and painful. Ling Shucheng held his neck high and recalled his first twenty-five years of lackluster life.

I've done too many things wrong.

The feeling of regret dissipated little by little with the exhaled heat. Ling Shucheng suddenly laughed sullenly. If someone else was standing next to him at this time, he might be frightened.

But what if you get it wrong?

Regret doesn't help. What's more, he is still alive and standing here, not only because he did the right thing.

In other words, everyone's life is made up of "right choices" and "wrong choices". Without any of them, there would be no self that we are today.

From now on, he may continue to make mistakes. Keep making mistakes, keep making amends, until you completely disappear somewhere in the world.

Ling Shucheng slowly opened his eyes. A mother and son happened to walk past him with a few shiny cold fireworks.

The little toy quickly ran out of light and heat. The ashes fell into the sand, and soon they were nowhere to be found.

However, it did light up the eyes of a few people, and it also brought a few people's smiles.

"It's really ......" three words came to an abrupt end. Ling Shucheng raised his head and looked at the inky night sky.

According to common sense, when a person finally comes to his senses, shouldn't they all have some scenery to match?

Amused by his nonsensical thoughts, he curled the corners of his mouth, and then reacted quickly and stepped forward, easily pulling a child who almost fell into the sand.

It's only been twenty-five years. I finally didn't miss all the opportunities in my life.

The clear sky is as blue as a wash. A small pot of jasmine by the window reflects a slender shadow in the shaded curtains.

A sunny afternoon.

The little yellow cat jumped down from the windowsill and imprinted a string of gray paw prints on the table that the little girl had just wiped clean.

"Oops! Don't, don't step on books! โ€

The little girl was so anxious that she jumped to her feet, and was about to pounce to stop the tragedy, but the kitten took the initiative to walk to her side very well-behaved, and rubbed the back of her hand quite knowingly.

"Hey, you're really good at seeing things." She pouted and touched the kitten's head, which immediately leaned down on the table, exposing her belly to touch her.

The playfulness of one man and one cat is quickly broken by a knock on the door. The little girl bounced up from her chair and hurriedly hid the kitten, who had not yet realized the danger, on the balcony covered by the curtains.

"Why haven't you finished sorting it out yet?" A middle-aged woman wearing an apron pushed open the door and looked dissatisfiedly at her daughter wiping the table with sweat on her head, "Aren't you going to go out to make up for classes in a while?" How's the homework going? โ€

"It's coming, it's coming." The little girl replied vaguely, "Anyway, I will be able to finish it tonight...... I'll get out when I'm done wiping here! โ€

Jumping into her shoes, she jumped a few steps against the wall under her mother's menacing gaze before she managed to pull the heel on.

"Look at the watch, look at the watch, when is this?" The mother glared at her and put her schoolbag on her back, "You just rub it slowly, if you can't squeeze into the car later, don't tell me that your feet hurt when you come back!" โ€

"It's okay, it's okay, I'll take the path over!" The little girl smoothed the folds on her skirt and replied with a big grin, "Otherwise, if you are really late, you will have to scold me again." โ€

"Yes!" The mother snorted in her mouth, as if she suddenly thought of something again, and inserted her waist and said, "No, the girl's family, give me the big road!" I've heard that there have been a lot of new people who have moved into our city recently, and some of them have come from boats, and the police are worried that they will affect the law and order, and they are having a headache......

"Are those older brothers and sisters with superpowers?" The excitement on the little girl's face was obviously more than nervousness, "It was said on TV that some of them have a good memory, they recite very quickly, some have great strength, one person can lift two sofas, and some can fly!" Speaking of which, it's the same person, and there seems to be a transfer student in the next class who can control the light bulb switch casually, so why can't I......"

"That's because your parents don't have the ability to do it!" The middle-aged woman's brows shrugged, and she suddenly squatted down and pressed her hand her daughter's shoulder, "Si Ni, listen well, we are all ordinary people, and those guys with superpowers are completely different from us, maybe they can kill you and me with just a finger, and they are absolutely dangerous." How dare your school accept such a student? That's not going to work, I'll talk to your teacher next Monday......"

"Mom!" The little girl stomped her foot with a pout, "Don't go to make a small report!" I've talked to him, he's so good, he loves to laugh! Also, he complimented you on how delicious the cookies you made......"

"You give me obedience!" The middle-aged woman lost her patience, her eyes full of anxiety, "Anyway, you have to stay away from him, or elseโ€”"

"Okay, okay, it's too late!" The little girl hurriedly interrupted her, "Do you want me to bring something back?" โ€

"Bring a handful of shallots, your father always said that the color of the dish is not good-looking."

Rushing out of the door in a panic, the little girl almost tripped over the door. Stepping on the flower bed on the side of the road and looking at it, the people waiting in line for the bus were unexpectedly black and oppressive. She held her face and pretended to sigh deeply, rubbed in place for a while, and turned into the alleyway.

Du Sini, 8 years old, second grade of primary school, is an authentic local. From birth to the present, the farthest place I have ever been should be the sea surface at most 100 meters offshore.

- Wearing a swimming ring, swept by the waves.

For this reason, the family has repeatedly ordered that she will never be allowed to go out with her classmates to play everywhere, except for going to school and making up classes, all activities that go out of the house need to be approved in advance.

But lately, her troubles are not limited to this.

Hearing too much of a not-so-nice nickname is no longer enough for her to clench her fists and beat people. But when will she be able to bring her cat home with confidence! Du Sini remembered the way the family of three upstairs walked their dog happily every morning, and she was very envious.

Speaking of which, new to the city......

She suddenly remembered her new neighbor. After the last hurried meeting at the door of her house, she hadn't bumped into that beautiful and a little cold big brother for a long time. I don't know if he's still sick and inconvenient to go out, or if he happens to be staggered with his free time.

Du Sini recalled his appearance, wondering if he was also a so-called "gifted".

If it were, that's pretty cool!

The journey through the alleys was exceptionally smooth. Du Si Ni's mouth hummed a song that she had only learned for a short time.

So there's definitely no danger here. She had sneaked around so many times that she hadn't even bumped into a single figure.

Practice makes sense. The nagging mother didn't understand this. Of course, she can't be allowed to understand, otherwise she will have to start flowering.

There's still plenty of time. Du Sini stood in front of the largest shopping mall in the neighborhood. Just go straight through here, turn left again, and you'll be at the place where you can make up the lesson.

Lifted the strap of the bag upwards. She rushed through the glittering counters, so she just missed the sudden alarmist look of the security guards.

So, ten minutes later, she was the twelfth hapless hostage, picked up by a gangster with a lot of arms and tendons, and threw her behind the counter.

"Our conditions are simple." Another chunky gangster pinned a megaphone, and the sound of electricity was very disturbing, "And the chips, you've seen it too." โ€

The shopping guide was squatting behind her and shivering, her makeup sticking to her face, and it looked weird and scary. Although Du Sini wanted to cooperate with the crying crowd to howl twice, she still couldn't suppress the heartfelt joy that rushed to her heart.

Finally, I don't have to go to class. She recalled the composition teacher who didn't have much hair and loved to scratch her head, and she breathed a deep sigh of relief.

Great, I don't need to rewrite the weekly diary today.

The other little boy next to him smiled and showed his newly replaced baby teeth, and he didn't know if he was thinking the same thing as her.

"I think our request is reasonable." The pudgy kidnapper was still chattering, "Before we came here, we all heard that this is an equal and open place. But why, for the same people, the same outsiders who have just moved in, our rent is two or three times higher than that of ordinary people, or even not able to rent convenient areas at all? It's the same child, why doesn't my daughter have a school to take her in? Is it because she doesn't get good grades? Or where is disobedience? โ€

The chubby kidnapper's voice became lower the more he spoke, and it seemed that he was about to cry again. Du Sini looked at him, and suddenly felt a sense of unwarranted sadness.

"We've heard what you're saying, but your actions now will only make it harder to negotiate later. I also hope that you can release the hostages as soon as possible and do not take extreme actions......" The policeman-looking man also shouted to him from a distance over a loudspeaker.

"Less fooling!" The short and fat kidnapper became excited, waving his hands indiscriminately, "How you shirked before, we all see it!" If we don't come up with a tangible guarantee today...... Don't blame me! โ€

His reddened eyes scanned the writhing horde of hostages, his fists clenched white.

"Brother, I caught a few more people who couldn't run fast." The tendon-clad man circled back from the other side, the knife suspended in the air forcing the new hostage to move forward honestly.

Dusney blinked, looking at one of the familiar faces.

How could that big brother who was still recuperating be here? That's when she got nervous.

After not seeing each other for a few days, Ling Shucheng's face did not improve in the slightest, but his walking posture was much more natural. He also seemed to recognize Dusney in the crowd, and then glanced faintly at the knife that had been turned to his throat, and crouched down side by side with a few other unlucky guys.
