Section 47: Tulips
The air in the suburbs is much better than in the city, it is the purity and freshness that is characteristic of the suburbs, away from the heavy car exhaust, dust and noise, and everything is beginning to return to its original natural state. Looking back, it was the first time I had such a detailed perception and understanding of the scenery on both sides of this familiar road, and it was a refreshing feeling that I had never had in countless previous paths! The bus came to Century Square, the 21 tall pillars in the center of the square, in an arc-shaped column, each of which glowed with a silver-white metallic luster in the sun, all the pillars were decorated with silver-white bells, and the sound of tinkling bells flew out in the wind, and there was a rhythmic vibration in the hearing, just like the beautiful melody of a certain musical instrument struck by an ancient tribe in a ceremony held to celebrate the fishing and hunting harvest.
Six or seven minutes later, the bus arrived at the stop of the Jingyue Campus, and then I realized that no one got on or off the bus along the way, and as soon as the door opened, all the passengers were out of their seats. I looked at my watch: 10:20. On weekend mornings, students enter and exit every supermarket, internet café, restaurant, and other shops near the school. Except for winter and summer vacations, these stores are full of customers almost every day, but the supermarket on campus is rarely frequented. I had planned to go to the florist to buy a bouquet of flowers when I got off the bus, but the only one in the area was closed, so I walked into a relatively large supermarket and went to the flower stall to ask about the price of tulips. The shopkeeper who sold flowers greeted me warmly when she saw me coming, and according to the practice of boys buying flowers, she strongly recommended roses to me, she must have thought that I should send roses to my girlfriend to create an atmosphere of romantic love! In fact, as far as I'm concerned, I didn't plan to buy any roses at all, I never thought that I was here to fall in love with Melly, just two familiar people sat down and chatted, didn't think deeply about anything else, suppressed the "heartbeat" that I had before, maintained a restraint and calmness, and let it all go naturally. So I just asked about the price of the tulips and paid directly, and the female shopkeeper looked at me with a puzzled look when she received the money, and she probably thought that I was one of the more special customers she had met. I don't know what it means to give tulips, but I've always liked tulips as a flower, and it's purely my personal preference.
I walked into the campus with flowers, and then the bell tower on the corner of the teaching building of the School of Business Administration came to the bell that chimeled the time, although it was the timbre of an electronic clock, but it sounded thick and mellow, and the sun shone warmly on my body, and my mood couldn't help but warm up, I took out my mobile phone and called Melly:
"Hey!"
"Hey! You've arrived, right? Melly said in a low voice.
"I've walked through the school gates!"
"I'm sorry, I'm not in the public classroom, the counselor is meeting us in class, can you wait for me?"
"Okay, no problem!"
"After the meeting, I'll come to you!"
“OK!”
After talking to Melly on the phone, I walked towards the school building that I couldn't be more familiar with, and at some point two pots of lush rice orchid were moved to the hall on the first floor, and the faint fragrance was exuding in the cool air of the foyer. Since I was a recent graduate, the doorman knew me well, so he just waved his hand and didn't ask me where I was from or who I was looking for. I went straight to the hallway, walked into the empty public classroom, picked a seat at the end of the front row, put the tulip on the seat next to me, and began to wait for Melly.
