Chapter 90: Letters
The port area of Coral Island was still the same as before, noisy and chaotic, and after separating from the crew, Charles and Lily walked straight to the Bat Hotel, where they were staying.
Although he now has enough to hear back to buy a house in the port area, Charles always feels that he can't stay in the sea for long, and there is no need to waste money on it.
As soon as he walked into the hotel, Charles immediately noticed that something was wrong, the raunchy guy who used to sit behind the front desk disappeared, and was replaced by a middle-aged man who was dressed completely different from his surroundings.
With a white shirt and black vest and a smart hairstyle, he doesn't look like a person who works in the port area.
"Mr. Charles, has the Bat Inn changed owners?" Lily, who was standing on top of Charles, looked at the man curiously.
Charles thought for a moment before walking over. "I need to stay for a month this time, 303 on the third floor, and send two more meals to my room. β
"Yes, sir. The room is ready for you. β
Just as Charles was about to pull out the echo coin, the guy waved his hand and signaled that he didn't need to.
With a smile on his face, he said respectfully, "Mr. Charles, you don't have to pay, this inn is yours now." β
"Mine?" Charles, looking at the guy in front of him, didn't see any information.
"Who are you, who sent you?"
"The host left a letter in your room, you will know it after you read it. β
Taking the key he handed over, a puzzled Charles walked towards the room where he lived, and when he opened the door with the key, he found that the interior had changed.
The peeled walls were repainted with antique carved wallpaper, and the old furniture was replaced with new antique-style furniture.
The thick wool carpet on the floor and the art murals on the walls were all very strange to Charles.
The biggest change in the room is that the left wall actually pulled out a fireplace.
The blazing fire not only illuminates the room, but also dispels the cold and dampness of the room.
Charles exited the door and looked at the house number again, and realized that he had made a mistake, this was the room he had lived in. The dΓ©cor and furnishings of the house now made him feel like he had stepped into the bedroom of a certain governor.
"Wow!!" an excited Lily jumped off Charles's shoulders and crawled onto the bed and rolled around. "Mr. Charles, come on, this bed is so soft and comfortable!!"
Charles ignored Lily's excited shouts, he remembered the guy's words just now, and swept his eyes to the table.
An envelope was placed squarely in the center of the table.
"Who will write to me?" Charles had an answer in his mind, and his heart began to beat faster.
He quickly rushed up and opened the envelope, and a folded piece of paper fell out, it was Anna, who was grimacing.
Charles stared at the portrait silently for a few seconds, then turned it upside down, and sure enough, he found some Chinese characters left behind it.
"Gao Zhiming, how are you looking for your exit? Do you have a clue? Tell you a happy thing, I am still married, don't worry, I didn't cuckold you, that kid tastes very good." β
"I've come over to see if I have something to do recently, you men are really rough, you guys can even live in this kind of room, I cleaned up a little, don't thank me, don't think about it, it doesn't mean anything. β
Charles looked at the Chinese characters on the painting over and over again, and after a long time, he put them down.
His mind was in a mess at this point, and he didn't know why Anna was doing this.
"Tie up that guy downstairs, maybe we can get a clue about Anna, are we going to find her?"
"You want to go?"
"Don't dump me here, you must be the same as I thought, right? I want to find it but don't want to find it. β
"What if you find it, don't forget her identity, let her stay next to us, and then we watch her eat people every day, can you accept it?"
"Hey, you are Gao Zhiming, I am also Gao Zhiming, if you can accept it, of course I can accept it. β
Charles, frowning slightly, exhaled and put the paper back on the table.
He slowly sat down on the leather sofa in front of the fireplace, subconsciously rubbing his temples with his right fingers, the soft leather sofa and the warmth of the fireplace could relax his body tiredness, but could not relieve the entanglement in his heart.
Anna is his childhood sweetheart in his memory, even if he now knows that those good memories are fake, but he still can't forget them.
But no matter how deep her emotions are, she can't offset that Anna is a man-eating monster.
After looking at the flickering fire in the fireplace for a while, Charles spoke, "It's so illogical in the earthly sea, do you think there's any way-"
Richard directly grabbed the right to speak, "Want to find a way to turn Anna back into a human again?" Dude, can you really think about it, not to mention whether the tentacle monster agrees or disagrees, if we change the target to help it, what if we explore the surface exit? Is it important to be a woman or to go home?"
Charles was silent and did not reply, and just as he was thinking that he was a little upset, a small box on the ground caught his attention, and there seemed to be something in it.
Charles walked over and looked inside, revealing a letter torn in half. He bent down to put the envelope back together.
Margaret Jane Cavendish (mail)
(Attn) Mr. Charles
Margaret Charles thought back to the timid rabbit-like naΓ―ve girl.
Charles looked at the grimace on the table, then at the envelope that had been torn in half in his hand.
Since Anna tore up this letter, why did she throw it here for me to see?
After thinking for a moment, he folded the envelope together, put one end in his mouth and bit it, and pulled it hard with his right hand, and the two paragraphs of the letter were directly torn into four paragraphs.
Throwing the shredded paper in his hand into the trash, Charles got up and walked to the bathroom.
It was evident from the fact that she was a good girl by secretly hiding food for the slaves to eat. Whatever she wrote in the letter, Charles didn't want to get too much involved with her.
There were enough of them in Earthsea, and he didn't want to add another one.
Charles's uneventful island life didn't last long, and just half a month after he painted again to clear the spiritual pollution, he saw the scarred Illuminati exploration ship on the docks.
"How's it going? Have you found a supply point island?"
In 303 of the Bat Hotel, Charles asked Cord, who had a very bad face in front of him.
As for the exit of the Land of Light, he didn't even ask, with this guy's pious attitude towards the God of Light, if he really wanted to find it, it would never be this kind of expression.
