Chapter 147: Encounter
On the opposite side of the crossroads, there were two strange people, one was a middle-aged man in a trench coat and a cowboy hat, and the man had a shocking scar on his face, which ran through the entire face, as if it were a centipede.
Another young man, dressed in jeans and a jacket, looked to be twenty-five or sixteen years old, his eyes cold and full of murderous intent.
The two of them kept staring at Elena, as if Elena was their prey, Elena's body unconsciously retreated, and suddenly retreated into my arms, I looked down at her, her hands clutching my clothes.
I pulled Elena behind me, and then looked at the two strange people, the middle-aged man in the trench coat gave me a surprised look, and then a sneer of disdain appeared on the corner of his mouth, and he gestured towards me to wipe his neck with his fingers.
I squinted at these two strange people, they were probably the witchers that Elena said wanted to capture her, right?
Not to be outdone, I raised my middle fingers with both hands and replied to the middle-aged man, while the sneer at the corner of the latter's mouth was even thicker, and the eyes looked at me as if they were looking at a dead man. The young man next to the middle-aged man, who never had any expression on his face, kept paying attention to our every move.
It's broad daylight, and it's on the street again, and I don't believe they dare to do anything to Elena.
"Let's go." I smiled and took Elena's cold little hand and walked over to them.
Elena didn't resist the whole time, and let me pull her past the two strange people, who didn't make a move, just watched us disappear into the crowded streets.
After returning to the apartment, Elena looked very nervous and kept standing by the window to observe the movement outside.
"Don't be so nervous, it's daytime and they don't dare to blatantly come to find trouble." I said calmly.
"Why don't we find a place to hide? Or go to the Witcher Guild first, as long as you sign up as a witcher, they won't be bothering us. Elena said worriedly.
"What is the Witcher Society?" I asked, frowning.
"The Witcher Guild is a very old organization, all Witchers can join, and the Witcher Guild will also issue some exorcism quests, which will be paid a lot after completion." Elena thought for a moment and said.
"High pay?" As soon as I heard that I could make money, my eyes lit up, and I was worried that there was no place to make money.
"Yes, as long as you become a demon hunter, I will also be registered as a demon hunter by the demon hunter, so that I don't have to hide all day in Tibet." Elena whispered.
"I'm afraid you planned this a long time ago, right?" I asked, looking at Elena with a smirk.
"Hey, the master is so smart." Elena said a little embarrassed.
"Get out of the way, don't pat me on the back." I said angrily.
"Shall we go then? Before it gets dark, that guy is a three-star witcher. Elena said a little worriedly.
"Is a three-star witcher powerful?" I asked, frowning.
"The Witcher has a hierarchy, and the more bounty quests you complete, the higher the level, a total of five stars. That guy can become a three-star witcher, and his strength naturally goes without saying. And that's what I was hurt by that guy. Elena said with a sigh of relief.
"Where's the Witcher Society? Are there any requirements to become a witcher? I asked in a deep voice, and I knew Elena was a nuisance, but I didn't expect it to come so quickly.
"Every city has a chapter of the Witcher Society, and Los Angeles is certainly no exception. It's not difficult to become a witcher, as long as you can prove that you have the ability to get rid of evil spirits alone. Elena replied.
"I see, the last question, do you want revenge?" I squinted at Elena and said.
"Revenge? Of course I thought about it, but forget it, we're not that guy's opponent. Elena hesitated.
"What if I could beat that guy?" I laughed.
"I still don't want it, I don't want you to risk it for me, I don't have to hide in Tibet, I have an upright identity, I'm very satisfied." Elena whispered.
"Okay, let's go to the Witcher Society, if those two blind guys come to trouble us, I don't mind teaching him how to behave." I said.
"Thank you." Elena said gratefully as I looked at this.
"It's okay if you want to thank me, you can be my maid in the future, and all the housework will be yours." I smirked.
"No problem." Elena finally smiled.
At noon, Elena and I went out to head to the Witcher's Society, and since our apartment was on the West Side of Los Angeles and the Witcher Society was on the East Side, and it was a long distance, I didn't have a lot of money in my pocket. So we chose a more economical way to get around, taking the subway.
It was the first time I had taken the subway since I came to the United States, and it was also the first time in my life, after all, at that time, the subway was only available in the bustling big cities in China.
The reason why I chose to take the subway is because there are more people on the subway, and I don't think that guy will do it in a crowded place.
It's just that as soon as I got into the car, I found that I was wrong, this is not a country, there are a lot of people everywhere, and there are only a dozen or so people sitting in the empty subway car.
Elena and I found a random place to sit down, and the subway train slowly headed for the West End.
Suddenly, Elena's expression changed, she wrinkled her nose and sniffed, and her emotions became very nervous.
"That guy is here, I smell him." Elena looked nervously around.
"Don't be afraid, there are so many people in the car, he shouldn't do it." Although I comforted her verbally, I had secretly begun to invoke the dragon demon body to augment the body, to prevent that guy from going crazy and doing it directly on the subway.
It was at this moment that I saw a man coming from another carriage, the same guy I had seen at the intersection during the day, and the young man who was with him had come in from the other side of the carriage, apparently trying to trap Elena and me.
The guy in the trench coat had a smile on his face when he saw us, and he suddenly pulled out a document from his pocket with a police badge on it.
"I'm the Los Angeles police officer, and there are very dangerous fugitives in the carriage right now, all those who are not related to please leave immediately." The middle-aged man in the trench coat said loudly to the people in the carriage.
I didn't expect that guy to dare to come out to the police to clear the scene? The people in the carriage were in a mess, and after a while, there were only four of us left in the entire carriage.
At this point I noticed that the two guys had each taken out a rag from their bodies and blocked the glass on the doors at each end of the carriage, and I think they didn't want what was going to happen to be seen by ordinary people.
