Chapter 3: Reality and Fantasy

The ancients worked at sunrise and rested at sunset. Half of my life is spent in my sleep. Although people nowadays no longer live according to the way of life of the ancients, they still have to sleep more or less, and about a third of the time is spent in sleep. Mu Feng first realized the existence of the night when he was a child, and he was awakened by a nightmare in the middle of the night, and then he didn't dare to fall asleep, waiting for the day to come with fear.

Of course, nothing happened that night. In the past, Mu Feng fell asleep at night as long as he closed his eyes for a while, and he didn't notice any difference in the night. During the day, it is pitch black when you close your eyes, so you naturally don't feel abnormal. Since the nightmare that day and found that it was pitch black when his eyes were open at night, Mu Feng gradually began to get used to the night, no longer afraid, on the contrary, he became interested in the night, and had to open his eyes and look around for a period of time before going to bed every night.

After that, I always stared at the window. There is a little light outside the curtains, and if the wind blows, the curtains will be lifted from time to time. Through the curtain, it is like a layer of fog, which makes people unable to see it really. What really made Mu Feng like the night was the night of the Mid-Autumn Festival, the weather was sunny that day, Mu Feng and his friends had a holiday, and they made an appointment to go to the river to play after dinner. That day, they fished and caught crabs in the river, and they had a lot of fun. In the end, one by one, like wild horses, ran and played wantonly on the river, until the sun set in the western mountains and the moon fell on the branches.

They lay exhausted on the slightly warm stones. Maybe I'm too tired to play, my friends, they all keep their mouths shut. At this time, Mu Feng felt that the night was coming, the four fields were silent, the round moon was hanging on the branches, and the silent mountains in the distance seemed very tall. His body and mind were greatly relaxed, and he couldn't help but let out a long howl. The little friends heard him whistling, so they also roared loudly together, and when they were exhausted, they looked at each other, and they all laughed again.

In this unknown place, Mu Feng felt that he was in an inexplicable situation. Mu Feng recalled those things in his childhood at this time, and gradually understood something. Fantasy and reality, many times people wander between the two, people rest at night so that they can have enough energy the next day. But what do people do at night, why do some people be tired and half dead during the day, sleep fragrantly, and the next day they will be alive and energetic.

But there are also people who sleep at night and feel more tired the next day than if they didn't sleep at all. Where did they go, or where did they go in their dreams. Combined with his own experience, Mu Feng understood that the problem was what people did in their sleep at night.

In this unknown place, Mu Feng stood up from the ground, and he looked at the fog around him. He felt that he was real, just as real as he used to eat and sleep. But the fog around him made him feel like he was in a dream. Finally, he walked towards the front facing him with a blank face, no longer in a hurry, no longer afraid.

As he walked, he ran, faster and faster. "Since the environment has not changed, something has to happen. So he ran hard. The space of this place seems to be infinitely wide, Mu Feng has been running, never turning, still in the fog, this place time is also like eternal, Mu Feng every step he runs, he counts a number. I don't know how many counts, although the interval between each count varies, but it always takes time to count. Maybe a few months, or a few years, and later, Mu Feng didn't want to count anymore.

During these times, Mu Feng's description has not changed at all. Just running, getting faster and faster, he is getting better at running. It was as if he had discovered some special passage in time and space, and in an instant, his body came as he wished. It seems that it is possible to ignore distance, ignore time. Later, he gave up the idea of running out of the fog and lay down on the spot. He misses his parents, relatives and friends, everything that came before, and those who gave him happiness and pain······

When he came here, he tried every means to get out of here, and now that all the methods have been tried, he can't die, and Mu Feng fell into despair. Alas, everything is in vain, and the gods and horses are all floating clouds. But there is a thought, always do something, even if it is a fantasy, and then he lies down and starts dreaming, he used to make his parents angry, he changed all this in his dreams, so that his parents were proud of him, before, that girl, he missed.

In the dream, he tried to make himself better, let the lovely girl feel his true love, and finally gave the girl the happiness she wanted······ Fantasy is real and beautiful, at least to alleviate a moment of despair. However, no matter how beautiful the fantasy is, there will always be an end. When people wake up from their fantasies and become aware of reality, the pain in their hearts is doubled. If what is seen is a flash in the pan, then at least it is real, not lost by the ephemeral.

But no matter how beautiful the fantasy is, it is just a fantasy, and the more beautiful it is, the more people are afraid of the sadness that comes when they wake up. Fantasy is to drink water to quench thirst, and Mu Feng always weeps silently after disillusionment. Later, he stopped fantasizing, but he had to do something.

So, he started looking for something to do. "1+1=2, why is 1+1 equal to 2? Because I have one apple, give me one more and I will have two. So, 1+1=2. But if I have a flock of sheep and give me a flock of sheep, will I have two flocks? No, a flock. Mathematics requires rigorous logical reasoning, so it must have strict definitions. If you define a flock of sheep as ten, and I have ten, then give me ten more, and I have two flocks of sheep, 1+1 is still equal to 2".

He began reasoning with mathematics and rose to philosophy. He began to struggle with his own thoughts. I don't know how long it has been. He slowly recalled that he had read those books, and little by little he figured them out. Later, as long as it was a book he had read, he could recall it, even if he didn't understand the literal meaning, but it didn't affect his recall.

"Qian": Yuan, Heng, Li, Zhen.

Ninth day of the first month: Hidden dragon, don't use it.

Ninety-two: See the dragon in the field, and see the lord.

Ninety-three: The gentleman works all day long, and he is violent, vigorous, and not to blame.

Ninety-four: Or jump into the abyss, no blame.

Ninety-five: The flying dragon is in the sky, and it is good to see the adult.

Shangjiu: Kanglong, there is regret.

Use nine: See the group of dragons without a head, Ji.

(The original text of the "I Ching" hexagram quoted here has a following text, and this book is only a work of obscenity, so it may distort this hexagram.) This hexagram is quoted because the Qian hexagram is the first hexagram, so it is quoted at the beginning of the book to echo the end. In addition, I don't know how easy it is below, so if there are people who study easy to reason, you can scoff at it. )

Eventually, he focused on the I Ching, combined with some of the famous classical books he read, and began to try to understand it.

The more Mu Feng studied, the happier he became, and the more he studied, the more he felt that many phenomena in the world were incredible, and it seemed that everything was accidental. But there is also necessity in chance, just like a person wants to go to a certain place, there are many roads, and different people have different choices. The easiest, for example, if you are in a hurry, you will definitely choose the nearest and most convenient one, and if you want to enjoy the scenery, you will definitely choose the best scenery. These are people who are familiar with how to get around, make different and preferred choices. This is normal, but there are also some people who don't know how to get around and haven't heard anyone else talk about it.

But the choice you make is the one that suits you best. If you want to enjoy the scenery, you choose a road with the best scenery along the way, and if you are in a hurry, you choose the most convenient and nearest road. In the realm of this kind of person, Confucianism talks about moderation, and Taoism calls it knowledge. After Mu Feng realized this, he seemed to have found a door to a magical world, and he forgot to explore. This unknown place, once again plunged into eternal silence. Reality and fantasy went to another world with Mu Feng's thoughts, and there is no longer a boundary, because no one pays attention to it, so the existence of the boundary does not matter whether there is or does not.
