Chapter 2 A Journey to Zanglong Mountain
Zanglong Mountain is located in the eastern suburbs of Nanjing, which belongs to the limestone landform of Ningzhen Mountains. It is said that there are many hidden caves and karst caves hidden in the mountain, and the caves are connected, the caves are connected, the small ones are only allowed to allow one person to enter and exit, and the big ones are nearly 1,000 meters wide and can accommodate 100 people.
Zheng Tian and I drove along National Highway 104, and when we reached the nearest village, it was already past 2 p.m., and the mountain road was rugged and winding, so we temporarily left the car in the village to hike the mountain.
The sun is slanting, the forest is deep and quiet, and it is only after turning over a few small dirt slopes that you really enter the continuous mountains. Because the mountains are full of shrubs and thorns, and every step you take, you have to use a machete to open the way, so the trip is not fast.
In fact, according to my understanding of this Zanglong Mountain, the reason why it is mysterious also stems from a mysterious and mysterious unsolved mystery.
In early December 1937, 150,000 Chinese troops gathered inside and outside Nanjing to participate in the defense of the capital. Although the officers and men shared the same hatred for the enemy and fought bravely to kill the enemy, most of the divisions and regiments had just withdrawn from the Songhu battlefield, with serious attrition and backward equipment, and the Chinese army suffered heavy losses in the fierce battle.
Later, according to the memories of some old people in the Maqun and Baishuiqiao areas in the eastern suburbs of Nanjing, the heaviest losses were caused by a certain division of the Sichuan Army that had traveled from afar. There was one regiment in the division, which did not directly participate in the battle because it was on the left flank of the position on the side of the Beijing-Hangzhou National Highway and was on guard against the enemy.
After the defeat in the war, in order to preserve the vital forces, the commander of the regiment ordered the more than 2,000 officers and men of the regiment to withdraw to the southeast and enter the mountainous area of Zanglong Mountain, which stretched for more than ten miles.
However, the strange thing is that after this army entered the mountainous area of Zanglong Mountain, it was as if it had evaporated in the world, and there was no trace.
When the war ended and the Japanese invaders counted the results of the invasion, they unexpectedly found that a certain Chinese regiment had not been annihilated or captured, nor had they laid down their arms and entered the refugee area in the city drawn by the International Red Cross.
In other words, this army mysteriously disappeared into the mountains of Zanglong Mountain.
Later, the Nationalist government in Chongqing also noticed this strange incident when it counted the war situation in 1939, and a whole Sichuan army division was neither completely annihilated or captured, nor did it break out of the encirclement to contact the large army, so it had to be listed in the file: The whole regiment is missing.
In the early 70s of the last century, the students of the Nanjing Mining School and the garrison of the military region found a hidden karst cave when they were building mines and mining coal in the area of Zanglong Mountain, which contained a small number of steel helmets, guns and wreckage, so some people thought that this army should have strayed into a hidden cave in Zanglong Mountain and then walked into the mysterious underground world and never came out again. However, some people think that at that time, in order to break through, the regiment disrupted its establishment and broke into parts.
Of course, there are many people who come out to refute the rumors and say that this is just a legend and cannot be believed, so I don't know what the truth is. But one thing is certain, that is, there must be many hidden secrets on this Tibetan Mountain.
After walking for another half an hour, I noticed that the wild peppers and wild chestnuts around me gradually increased, and the fragrance of nature wafted everywhere.
But when we walked to a col near a mountain stream, we suddenly smelled something extremely pungent and foul-smelling, and I wondered why this smell suddenly came from all the way to the wild fragrance.
Driven by curiosity, I covered my nose and turned to the other end of the corner of the col, and when I saw the scene in front of me, I couldn't help but take a few steps back:
There were a bunch of bloody animal limbs scattered in front of him, which looked like they should be domestic animals such as cattle and sheep, and some of their flesh had been rolled up, revealing the white bones, which was extremely terrifying.
I was about to turn around and leave, but I was grabbed by Zheng Tianyi, who pointed to the stumps and frowned, "Did you notice anything wrong?" ”
I pinched my nose and shook my head suspiciously, and Zheng Tian continued: "You see, there are all stumps here, but all of them are gone. ”
Because my brain was nauseated and dizzy just now, I didn't have time to think about it, and now listening to Zheng Tian's words, I can't help but wonder, if these cattle, sheep and livestock were slaughtered by the local mountain people, why did they only leave their limbs? If you want to be preyed on by the fierce beasts in the mountains, you shouldn't just keep your limbs, and you can't pick and choose to this extent anyway, I don't believe it.
While I was still thinking, Zheng Tian suddenly patted me on the shoulder and exclaimed, "Chengzi, look what's going on!" ”
I looked in the direction of his finger and was surprised to see that one of the stumps had moved strangely.
Can a stump move without brain control?
I cursed in my heart, slowly pulled out the hunting knife at my waist, and gave Zheng Angel a backward gesture.
We slowly retreated, and found that the stump was moving more and more, and it seemed that something was wriggling violently in the flesh, and the whole leg was moving.
Before I could think about it, I heard a sharp slumping sound in front of me, and then the roots of the legs of the corbel were blurry with blood and flesh cracking, and several seven or eight centimeter long and dark red insects crawled out of it!
The bugs looked a bit like centipedes or other arthropods, but their heads were much larger, and there was a hole under the two tentacles, which I guess were mouths, and they looked very creepy.
Then, there were bursts of stumbling sounds in front of them, and the rest of the stumps also showed the same situation. Soon, dozens of ugly bugs were struggling out of the blurred flesh one by one.
I was stunned, and said in a trembling voice: "Good girl, if you are bitten, you will definitely have to go to Hades to report." As I spoke, one of them had crawled to my feet and was spinning around. I hurriedly lifted my foot and stepped down with all my might, until I felt that the bugs under my feet were no longer moving, and then something unexpected happened!
When I lifted my foot, I was surprised to find that the bug I had stepped on was suddenly gone, but there was a hole in my shoe for some reason.
"I heard an old Chinese abroad say that this thing is called a ghost sting, born underground all the year round, and can spray a very corrosive liquid from its mouth, I don't know why I will meet it in this mountain col, it seems that we are not in a good situation." Zheng Tian said with a worried face.
I sounded a little mysterious, and I wasn't sure if Zheng Tian was messing around, but I was secretly glad that the one just now was lucky to drill down, and if I drilled up, it wouldn't have eroded the soles of my feet!
Just as I was about to run away, Zheng Tian suddenly shouted nervously to tell me not to move, and then pointed to my left sleeve, only then did I realize that another ghost thing had crawled on me at some point. I secretly complained to myself, thinking that it was my flesh or something, why did you love to rub against me?
I tried shaking it a few times, but I found that it seemed to stick to my clothes, and I couldn't shake it off.
Seeing that this thing called the ghost sting was about to crawl down my sleeve to my neck, beads of sweat the size of beans on my forehead couldn't help but run down.
