Chapter IV: Captivity
When I regained consciousness, I found myself in a dimly lit cabin, I got up and reworked my muscles briefly, and I felt that there was nothing unusual about my body except that my head was still a little drowsy, but the backpack and luggage I had brought with me were gone.
I briefly glanced around, there was a table in the room, and some miscellaneous items and paper bags were placed, and Zheng Tian leaned against the table, looking still unconscious. I hurriedly ran over and patted him, but he still didn't respond.
I knew that this place was not a good place to stay long, so I went to the door, tried to pull the knob a few times, and found that the door had been locked from the outside and could not be opened. I thrashed a few times in a fit of rage, but there was no response from outside.
Could it be that someone kidnapped him? The more I thought about it, the more aggrieved I became, I felt that this trip was really wronged, I didn't get anything, I didn't say anything, I was injured, and now I'm being locked up inexplicably.
While I was complaining, there was a strange sound in the corner, as if something was wriggling.
I clenched my fists and slowly approached to find out, but before I had taken a few steps, a black shadow flashed in front of me, and because the light was dim, I couldn't see what it was, and my heart suddenly rose to my throat.
I had to hold my breath and wait for an opportunity to move, and after a while, the surroundings became quiet again, but strangely I seemed to smell a sour smell.
As the smell intensified, so did the ominous feeling in my heart. Hurriedly walked to Zheng Tian's side and slapped them in the face, trying to wake him up as soon as possible, this guy moved his body and opened his worried eyes, looking at me blankly.
I quickly pulled him up and told him we were in danger.
After getting up, Zheng Tian touched my red face, and asked me with some pain what happened just now, how did his face feel hot, I hesitated a few times, and then said with a serious face: "You were attacked by an unknown object just now, that guy moved too fast, and I didn't see what it was." β
Zheng Tian suddenly looked flustered, nervous to find his way, and soon he walked to the wooden door and anxiously shouted at me, "Let's try to knock this door open!" β
I nodded and immediately stepped in, and the two of them slammed the wooden door a few times shoulder to shoulder, but unfortunately the door did not move.
As we leaned against the door and gasped for breath, I seemed to hear the strange sound again, and it grew louder and louder, as if it were ringing around my ears.
I immediately held my breath and stared at the source of the sound, and to my surprise, it seemed to be coming from Zheng Tian!
I panicked, and subconsciously took a few steps back, Zheng Tian saw that my expression had changed, and asked me in a low voice What was wrong, I said in a trembling voice, didn't you hear any sound? And the sound seems to ...... It seems to be coming out of you!
Zheng Tian, who was facing me from the side, nodded with a strange expression and stood there motionless. The faint light that squeezed in through the gap spilled unevenly on the side of his face, forming flickering flickering spots of yin and yang.
I felt a little frightened at the look he did, and an indescribable feeling came over me, and then I accidentally noticed something moving on the hat of the dress on the back of his head.
I stared at Zheng Tian's hat and noticed that the movement was getting louder and louder, as if something was wriggling inside. After a while, the thing showed half of its head, but before I could see it, it shrank back again.
I thought to myself, what the hell is this, out of nowhere. At this time, I only heard Zheng Tian say with a bitter face: "Of course I heard a strange sound." That thing jumped into my hat at some point, and if it got a hole in the back of my head, we'd see each other again in the next life. β
I calmed down for a while and said to Zheng Tian, "You take off your coat carefully first." Zheng Tian nodded, and was just about to unbutton it, when the thing in the hat suddenly jumped up, and in the next second, I felt as if my neck had been burned by a soldering iron, and I screamed in pain.
Zheng Tian stared at my neck with wide eyes and said in a trembling voice, "It's amazing! It's the Tai Sui who asks for his life again! β
I couldn't see what was going on my neck, but it certainly wasn't good, and the corrosive fluid was probably seeping into my body. I grabbed it with my hand by feeling, but as soon as I reached out and touched it, I was stung and had to retract again.
Zheng Tian hurriedly told me not to move, and then took off my coat and wrapped it on my hand to dust the thing on my neck, but he dusted it a few times, but it was to no avail, the thing was like sticking to my neck, and I couldn't get it off. I hurriedly went up with both hands to grab it, when the wooden door was suddenly opened from the outside.
In was a young man in a pure white robe and carrying a black umbrella. When he entered, he first pressed my shoulders, then stretched out two fingers towards my neck, and slammed them, and actually clamped the thing alive, and with a little more force, the thing had been clamped into two pieces by his fingers, and fell to the ground, and after a few convulsions, it stopped moving.
All movements were almost instantaneous, and they were so fast that I could barely feel the pain of peeling.
I took a closer look at the ground, and it turned out that the one that was sticking to my neck was the ghost sting I had encountered earlier. I'm very unhappy in my heart, there was no injustice in the past, there is no hatred in the near future, does this thing like me or why does it always rub against me?
"How much ransom do you want, heroes, we will pay all according to the order, and we will not call the police, just ask us to live!" Zheng Tian nodded and begged the young man, but the young man didn't answer, he glanced at the wound on my neck with his peripheral eyes, and then took out a ball of paper from his body and handed it to me.
I was worried about being bitten by a ghost sting, what should I do if I was poisoned, but now I can send the antidote directly! I gratefully took the paper and opened the package, but it turned out to be black lines all over my face...... Because inside, it turned out to be just a few ordinary band-aids.
I glanced disapprovingly at the young man, who was still expressionless, as if thinking about his own business.
It's better than nothing, and these band-aids can still play a role in psychological comfort.
After Zheng Tian helped me paste it, I twisted my neck exaggeratedly, and then gave Zheng Angel a running away look, Zheng Tian understood, pushed the young man away and ran out with me.
Unfortunately, we hadn't run a few steps before we stopped very familiarly, for the simple reason that there was a row of people wearing pure white masks and carrying black umbrellas at the door, and their outfits were exactly the same as the ones I had seen before I fell unconscious, and they looked a bit like the singers of the ancient times, which felt very strange.
I smiled awkwardly at them, and took a quick scan of the outside of the hut, which was surrounded by low bushes that would be easy to catch.
We obediently retreated back to the hut, and when we met the young man's cold gaze, I felt an inexplicable chill.
The young man beckoned outside, and immediately two men came up and covered me and Zheng Tian with blindfolds, and I wondered where they were probably going to take us. People are swordsmen, I am fish and meat, how dare we say a word in this situation now, we have to obey obediently.
We were escorted by these men on the mountain road for more than ten minutes, and they didn't even say a word. I couldn't hear anything other than rustling footsteps. What do these people want to do? I panicked, worried that I had just seen something in the col that I shouldn't have seen, so I would be taken somewhere to be killed.
After walking a short distance, I faintly heard the faint sound of cars speeding not far away, and then the group of people who were holding us suddenly stopped.
After waiting in silence for a few minutes, I arched my shoulders to Zheng Tian next to me, and Zheng Tian whispered, "They seem to be gone." Hearing Zheng Tian's words, my heart was overjoyed, and after shouting a few tentatively to confirm freedom, I tore off the blindfold.
The first thing we saw was a winding mountain road in front of us, and the people who escorted us were nowhere to be found. Although he was freed, doubts suddenly struck him, who were those just now? Why did they arrest us and release us immediately?
"It seems that this gold can't be touched today." Zheng Tian looked at the crimson sky in frustration and said.
I thought it would be good to be able to save my life, and what else to talk about, but at this time, Zheng Tian seemed to suddenly think of something, and anxiously rummaged through his pockets, but his body was empty.
"It's over, the map was taken by the gang." Zheng Tian stretched out his hands and looked very painful, I comforted him that it was just a copy, the original was still there, Zheng Tian shook his head and said that he was worried that someone would take the map and get there first.
Neither of us said a word on the road, and saw that it was about to be dark, but we could not find the village where we came, so we had to walk along the road, and after walking for half an hour, we found a building that resembled a hospital on a flat ground below the road, and we could faintly see people in white coats coming and going.
"Now it's saved, go over and ask them to borrow a phone, and I'll ask the driver to pick us up." Zheng Tian hurriedly ran down before he finished speaking, and I followed closely behind.
When I got closer, I found that the building looked old-fashioned, and although the façade had been renovated in the later period, it was not difficult to see that it was a product of the sixties and seventies of the last century.
I glanced at the white plaque that had been erected, and it was printed with a few black letters: Zanglongshan Psychiatric Hospital.
