Chapter 84: Paul's Story

Paul Ben is a computer web developer, a very good kind. He was an ordinary man who didn't know the existence of the inner world, and no one ever told him.

Unlike others, Paul grew up with a characteristic that his static electricity was always exceptionally strong. Often unintentionally electrifying others. But after all, it's static electricity, and no matter how strong it is, it won't really hurt people. So Paul survived his childhood without incident.

As he grew older, however, Paul discovered a terrible problem. The static electricity on my body seems to be getting stronger and stronger. He has even inadvertently killed a large number of insects. Paul began to pay attention to this issue. But no plausible explanation was found, let alone a treatment for the symptoms.

There are no more than three people in the world who have similar symptoms to him. So there are no real cases at all. In fact, the vast majority of doctors believe that it is not a condition at all. Just some kind of shallow variation of the body. I have to say that this conjecture is actually closer to the truth.

At the age of twenty-five, Paul was already able to emit electric currents visible from his fingers. He no longer dared to have contact with others, and he could no longer work in computers. In desperation, he quit his job and returned home. However, this phenomenon has not diminished, on the contrary, it is rapidly increasing. And it's getting harder and harder to control.

That is until after Paul inadvertently electrocuted the family's pet cat. His parents couldn't stand him anymore. They think it's a monster. It's hard to imagine such parents, but that's just the way it is. And this is also a typical manifestation of family relations in Europe and the United States. The indifference of the concept of family affection. In fact, the Americans themselves are aware of their lack in this area.

In American films, especially those science fiction movies. The main character, or the rest of the people, never get anyone's support once they have a special ability like a superpower. Friends, neighbors, and even parents can unsurprisingly reject them. And there will always be a whole bunch of inexplicable guys jumping out to guide public opinion, as if whoever has superpowers must die. And they don't just talk about it, they do it. Those special beings always lose all rights overnight and are sent directly to the gallows, or even to the displaning table. The reason is simply that their presence threatens the safety of the masses.

Paul realized this firsthand, and his parents became increasingly impatient with his presence. They avoided him and did not eat with him. Although there would be no problem as long as it wasn't physical contact, they avoided him at all times. I didn't even have any communication with him.

They didn't chase him, but the indifference was even more terrible than just kicking him out of the house. Paul felt like he couldn't take it anymore. He hides alone in his room every day, unable to use all electrical appliances such as computers and mobile phones. I can only get by by by with magazines and novels. He couldn't work because the people outside would reject him even more violently.

Every day he had to pretend that he didn't hear what his parents were saying about him. In fact, he knew it was something they had deliberately let him hear.

"He can't stay at home all day without going to work."

"I'm fed up with him."

"Oh my God, the fuse is blown out again. It's all his fault. ”

Finally, one day, Paul couldn't take it anymore. He had a big fight with his parents.

"I don't know what happened to me. I couldn't live outside, and I came back here. I thought it was my home. Why do this to me. ”

In the midst of the quarrel, both sides lost their minds. His father shouted out the last thing Paul wanted to hear.

"Get out, you monster."

Sadly, his child has changed. has become a very threatening existence. They hated him and stopped treating him as their own child. In the midst of the argument, call him a monster to his face. It's just that why don't they want to think about it, if this monster in front of you is not your child, do you dare to call him a monster so justifiably?

Paul, who was depressed to the extreme, lost control. He only felt something terrible suddenly gushing out of his body, and it was out of his control in an instant. With the last of his consciousness, he shouted, "Get out of here." But his father regarded it as a provocation to himself.

"It's you who should leave, boy, this is my house. Leave this home, I don't have you monster son. ”

This sentence became the last straw that broke the camel's back. Paul could no longer suppress the energy in his body. Or rather, there was a moment when he didn't want to suppress it. Tens of thousands of volts of electricity turned his parents into charcoal in an instant. The electricity ignited the whole house. Coming to his senses, Paul escaped and began his wandering career.

When police arrived at the scene, only two charred bodies were found. Paul is of course the first suspect, but how much energy can the police pay for this kind of case without the parties to pursue it? The district attorney only symbolically went through the motions of an indictment, and finally it was settled.

The wandering Paul was still having a hard time. He didn't dare to look for any work at all. The current in his body was incredibly high. The slightest mistake can kill someone. He didn't even dare to live in the crowd, so he could only hide in a corner where no one was around. When there was no one at midnight, I sneaked out to look for food in the dumpster.

What happened in this house was an accident. Paul didn't find enough food that day. Hungry and unbearable, Paul wanted to go into the kitchen and steal some food. But it was discovered by the owner, who was about to shoot with a shotgun. Paul panicked, and a powerful electric current inadvertently emitted, killing the owner of the house.

Paul occupied a house with no one and he would not come here until late at night to spend the night. So no one has found out. But in the end, the house was repossessed by the bank and re-auctioned. Once again, Paul lost his dwelling.

He wants to get out of here, but stumbles upon the owner's secret. That guy is a serial killer. Paul inadvertently saw him dismember the body of a girl and dispose of it with chemicals. Enraged, Paul killed the head of the household, but he did not dare to call the police, because that would involve him.

Successive deaths of the head of the house have made the house extremely disreputable. In the end, it was gradually abandoned. Paul simply made this his home base. He wandered throughout the city. But whenever he gets tired, he goes back to this house to rest. After all, this place can be sheltered from the wind and rain.

From time to time, some curious guys will come here to explore the so-called haunted mansion. Paul scared them away one by one, and in the end they formed a veritable haunted house. And it lasted for ten years.
